       Who needs a scout?

Been considering getting the Leopard, but have waited a bit
until I saw what higher-tier games are like. Now that I have,
       seriously thinking about it.
I could run it in those tiers I don't have yet (other than my
8.8, tier VI is as high as I have for now) while giving my
platoon mates something to shoot at when I light up the reds.
Plus, I'd like to learn to be a better passive scout, even if
that's harder on the XBox due to fewer bushes. Oh, and I already
have it unlocked, whereas I need about, oh, 50,000 XP or so for
       the Chaffee.
So ... anyone have this thing? Thoughts on it? Is it even worth
it, or should I just bring my Luchs into tier VII battles
(possible tier IX) because it doesn't matter anyway (e.g., I'm a
       one-shot kill :ammo: )?

Run the m3 and m5 scouts first to see if you like them and can
do some good with them before spending gold - get the suspension
upgrade as one of the equipments.
Your success also depends on how fast you scout relative to how
fast your team gets into position. The best scouts are alive
near the end of the game, to look for the last few heavy
       hitters, etc.

Sadly, all I did was suiscout in my Stuart because I thought
that's how it was done. The M5 I've barely played, to be honest,
but will be this weekend (with the rest of the world,
       apparently!).
The Luchs I enjoyed quite a bit, but it really is more of an
active scout, whereas the Leopard is better suited for passive
       (or so I've read).
Maybe I'll do more passive in the Luchs and see how it goes.
Maybe even get my 38 nA back, given that it's so freaking tiny
       and easy to hide. :-)

I'm saying this with "peace and love"... I don't like the
Leopard. I really wanted to like it, felt like I should like
it, but it wasn't a love connection. Something about that gun
       just wasn't working for me.
I don't see a whole lot of Leopards out there (kinda the point
right :snipe:). If you can figure this this tank out, I'd love
       to hear about it.
The Luchs on the other hand. I like it. Especially after the
packages got adjusted. I don't drive it often, but I do like
       it.
My advice is go for the Leopard and make a serious effort on
getting good with it. I don't think there are a whole lot of
good Leopard drivers out there. Eventually they should add more
german lights and mediums that branch out from there, so exp you
have on the Leopard could be used in the future.

I love my Luchs & Leo. I run both about equally, just taking
more care with the Leo because in high tier matches, basically
       I'm a chew-toy that can bite back.

My advice, run them with a platoon.
It's hit-or-miss when running as a scout in higher tier games if
nobody is communicating with your or aware of your intention to
do something other than run forward guns-a-blazing into the
       fray.
When I do run them with platoon members in heavies/TDs I you at
least know someone will be shooting at that Tier IX behomoth who
       just spotted you.
The other thing would be to max out Sixth Sense/BIA/Recon/Sit
Aware/Camo quickly I'm still working on that crew for the
Chaffee in the M5 Stuart, since she's cheaper to repair in
       random games.
