@Warsteiner- For the record, I thought you did a great job of
hosting and running the show. I missed the TOG vs KV2 event but
had a blast in the T29 vs Tiger(even though I got my tail handed
to me). Not sure why people have/had issues with the event but
would hate for this event to come to a grinding halt.

Wow...seriously? PMs? That is disappointing.
Here in the open I thought the response was very favorable, but
obviously not.
Oh, well, anyone volunteering to run this now?

i gotta say, i'm pretty disappointed too. the saturday night
showdown and the clan wars are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT things.
If you have no desire to be competitive, that's totally cool,
this IS after all, a primarily social clan. That being said, I
know some of us are really looking forward to the competitive
side of things, and better to gear up for that now before we
actually get Clan Wars--practice makes perfect--and if someone
is willing to step up, lead the event, coordinate everything, we
should be grateful for that, especiallly if they have experience
playing the game. Warsteiner asked multiple times for someone to
be the leader of the other team, and no one responds, but then
gets ripped about it in PMs? What is wrong with being honest
about how you feel in front of us all? I will be honest and say
that I was gonna volunteer to be a team captain, but then
thought better of it because I honestly feel I would have
teammates who wouldn't follow my direction, because Im still a
bit of a newbie, and maybe even because I am female. I think
there a lot of great players in OFF, and a lot of you
underestimate your own skills. Why can't we be supportive of
each other and encourage each other to step up to the plate and
take initiative? How do we become better players without that
aspect?
I didn't like the TOG loss, but I never felt it was any
reflection of our skills, that was a test of tank vs. tank. I
think Deelack said that he thought it was good because it serves
to highlight a tank's capabilities, which is totally true.
Bragging about a win isnt bragging about how good of a player we
are or arent, its essentially bragging on the tank. its teaching
us what works and what doesnt (how many of you T29 players are
carrying fire extinguishers now? how many TOGs now realize the
importance of tracking a KV-2 so it cant reload?) Do I think
Warsteiner is a better player than Oxi because Warsteiner is 2-0
and Oxi is 0-2? Of course not! That's ridiculous! If we start
Clan Wars and I participate, does that mean I will stop playing
with all of my friends that DON'T want to particpate? Also, of
course not! I think we can be competitive, and still maintain
the social aspect at the same time. And if I want to do Clan
Wars but don't make the cut, I will happily support the players
who do, and continue to try and improve so that next time they
have tryouts (or however they pick the team) that I WILL MAKE
THE CUT.
Sorry, did not mean to turn this into such a rant, and I am not
trying to rip any anyone's opinions on how the group should
operate, but I always felt that if you had a good idea in this
group that people would at least be open-minded about it whether
you were a BoD or Snr Member or a Newb. And if someone is
willing to step up and take time to run an event, we should all
be appreciative of that--basically saying that if you don't like
the direction things are going, be willing to step up yourself
and make changes, or design new events, or whatever--but please
don't just camp in the back and snipe at the other members when
they put themselves out there.
OK, the opinionated b**** has gotten off her soapbox. I, for
one, am hoping the Saturday night showdowns continue, win or
lose, it was still fun AND informative. I hope SOMEONE steps up
and continues to run this, because whether we decide to start
being competitive or not, it was a damn good event.

Well said Oxi. SNS based on the energy created is a successful
event and kudos to War for stepping up and running with it. I
for one do not accept War stepping down as its sponsor. CW and
our events are completely two separate things. If anyone has any
fears about OFF morphing into an elitiest clan take a chill
pill. We discussed back in the early days of this clan if CW or
something similar arose we would field a competetive team. We
would still retain our core as a social group of 40 and older
gamers who like to play WOT in a drama douche free environment.
Will everyone make the cut who wishes to partcipate? More than
likely not as we will be fielding a competitive team to
represent all of us. And I would look upon that group with
pride. WHY? Well imagine how much bs will get levelled upon them
by the gaming community outside of our happy home. Every clan
will have its own team and like our sports teams will have its
fans and detractors. Its not going to be easy. So people chill
out and play the game.
Now War will you please do us the privilege and honor by
resuming your role as sponsor of SNS?

Erin, I don't think anyone would have issues with you as a Team
Captain. Anyone can take that spot, and I'd prefer it to be a
rotating thing - whoever wants to do it - go for it. That way
everyone gets that experience and we get to learn new ideas and
ways of doing things. :) BTW did you get your cookies and
bananas? Was in Wal-mart and saw those Minions everywhere - even
as a Swifter. My son thinks I'm insane but I do love those like
yellow dudes. Pure genius on whoever came up with the idea -
"Hey lets animate a Twinkie!"

WTF? So why can't we make the Saturday night event competitive?
I had a blast prepping for it all week and then giving 110% in
the battles. Love the teamwork, coordination and everything else
that went along with it. If you don't want to play to win and
can't be a gracious loser, then skip the event but to ruin it
for the ones of that enjoy it is BS.

Hi Remy,
There's a mixup on this. Kinda of a brainstorming in this thread
of a different type of practice which wasn't a part of the
weekly event cycle. Hence the confusion.
The "Competitive Battles" are the ones prepping for the
eventual rise of CW as opposed to the Saturday Night Showdown -
which is the weekly event which War has been running most
expertly. It is competitive as its two teams slugging it out,
and the hilarious smacktalk that takes place before and after
the events. I don;t think there was an issue with that.

Wow...1st , thank you very much to everyone who has sent me
their thoughts , ideas and support. Its pretty apparent that I
have more backers on this than not ! Thanks !
Just and FYI I have not "outed" anyone and WILL not do so , so
don't worry. However any further negative PMs will be CC'd to
the BOD. Please understand , I am not trying to be and ELITEST
nor am I trying to guide this clan in my own direction ! Im just
not like that !!
Now that that's clear , and since im pretty much being told I
CANT drop this , lol , lets try this again in a more civil
manner !!
So.....Erin has stepped up as platoon 2 leader , am I correct in
this ????

So, this is a yuck-yuck event and the event where we play to win
comes later? Not trying to be a smartass, just wondering. If I
need to tone down my competitive enthusiasm, I can.

Thank you warsteiner , As I have mentioned before these past two
Sat. nights have been the most fun I have had in a while in
regards to Wot .
Remy , I actually bought both the Kv-2 and Tiger to compete in
these events , then outfitted them with my best crews I had
available with equipment . So this did cost me a fair bit of
silver and gold to run these ....... but I would do it no other
way as I consider these events to be a bit above your normal
platooning/grinding weekday events . I think we can be very
competative and social at the same time in these type of events
. I know I will be running my best ( not saying too much lol )
but certainly would not care if others don't .
