OF&F: A year later

It was about a year ago around this time last year when I was on
the official WoT forum, posting in a thread asking everyone how
old they were. I was stunned how many older folks were playing
and mentioned how nice it would be to platoon with some folks
closer to my age.
Shortly thereafter I got a message from some guy named
"robertthred" telling me about this clan of old folks who got
together to play tanks. I accepted the friend request and
played one night with him and Godfather. And the rest, as they
say, is history.
Sure, my stats have gone up an insane amount since then (like,
amazing amounts), but that's not why joining OF&F was one of the
best decisions I've ever made.
It's YOU, the folks who make up this clan.
My friends list can't hold everyone I want to add, and other
than a bit of drama last summer, there has been a STUNNING lack
of in-fighting, power plays, or even just general bitching in
months. Everyone is just so damn nice and cool. Honestly. Almost
every other clan has fallen apart at the seams, yet here we are,
having events, giving out prizes, and having a DAMN good time
doing it all, despite being one of the largest WoT 360 clans out
there. That says a ton about the type of people we have in this
group.
Oh, sure, we all might not agree on stuff outside of the game,
but we've kept that out of the clan and off the battlefield.
Oh, sure, we give each other so much grief in party chat that
some might not know what to think, but that's what brothers and
sisters do.
Oh, sure, some folks tend to platoon up with the same people
fairly regularly, but I have yet to see anyone unwilling to
platoon with someone else--there are no true cliques in this
clan.
And, to be totally sure, I'm tired of Triumph Cowboy killing me
seemingly every 5 v 5. But he's a cool guy and I'm glad to
contribute to his stats. :tongue:
So THANK YOU to everyone for ... well, everything.

are.

Win rate: 45%
k/d: 0.5
Damage: 0.5
Survived: 12%
Avg. damage: 200/game
Highest tier: V
Now:
Games played: 6813
Win rate: 53.72%
k/d: 1.56
Damage: 1.23
Survived: 38%
Avg. damage: 582/game
Highest tier: IX
So, yeah -- y'all have taught me tons about this game.

Great post TKE - I couldn't agree more. Best decision I have
made in years was joining this clan.
I had always played one person games and I had never played a
game online where you could communicate with other players - I
never even owned a mike. After my first experiments with a mike
in this game I was convinced I had made the right decision over
the years.
But I took a "chance" joining this clan, figuring I would give
the whole mike/platoon thing one more try, and it made me
realize it IS possible to have a great time playing a game in a
large community. I have a full friends list, and I would run
tanks with anyone of them, anytime.
What a great comment on the people we have in this clan - that
they would allow an old, cantankerous, foul mouthed, drunken SOB
to play tanks with them....and have a great time doing it!!!

Great post TKE, I could not agree more. Everyone in OFF have
been so nice and helpful, and that makes the game so much more
fun. I was actually very weary of joining another clan after
watch a COD clan I belonged to implode due to in fighting and
pettiness. OFFers have shown to be way more mature and choose
the high road and worry more about others than themselves. My
hat is off to each and everyone of you and thank you all for
having me.

I am glad you guys put up with my bad games and happy to lend a
hand to help the platoon when my shots fly true. This is a great
club with fun members and people I enjoy hangin with :old:

Jesus I have almost been in this clan for a year!
Yes TKE as bunch of great guys and gals! Lots of fun and great

I just noticed I have 21 more games till 10,000. That means I
will have had 6,000ish playing with OFFers....that is something
that definitely makes me proud!!!
