Are you the "it" factor?

Do you ever feel like YOU and you alone are the it factor in
most of your matches?
Let em explain. So I tend to be the brawler, bruiser, school
yard bully kinda player :charge:. First to fight no matter the
Tier. Unfortunately my win percentage shows this... 48.3% An
example is in my Tier 3 Cruiser Mk. IV, i believe i always have
3 shells chambered. Two come out of the gun and a third is the
front of my tank! I drive the same all the way up to the Tier
VIII Tiger 2 as well.
But I honestly just can't hold myself back. I truly feel like if
I don't get in there immediately we aren't going to have a
chance at winning. Obviously this isn't in the matches where I
am greatly out tiered. But I truly can't hang back and shoot
from a distance. If i am underdog, i go into scout mode and try
and get reds lit up for the big dogs in the match.
Thusly, my favorite maps are the ones with the cities/villages
where you can get up close and personal. I really can't stand El
Halluf, Mali, Sand Sucks.
Just curious about other peoples point of view on this... and i
know, it depends on the tank, the tier matching, and the map.
But in general... do you feel you are the it factor?

I wouldn't be so bold to say I'm the "it" factor in most my
games. However, there are definitely some games where I know my
actions (or lack of) directly led to the outcome (win, loss or
draw).
I tend to prioritize getting the win over anything else. If
that means driving out to the undefended flank to be a speed
bump, so be it. If it means drawing fire from the biggest
baddest tank on the red team, then ok le't see how good a shot
they are. I think this why my win% is pretty good, but the rest
of my stats suffer, and I have trouble earning silver.

One thing this game has taught me is patience.
I know that, most of the time, if I wait long enough the enemy
will get antsy and make a mistake. Sure, it might get a bit
campy sometimes, but that doesn't bother me. I'm also not much
of a brawler. Used to think I was, but now I'm not so sure --
seem to do best in TDs. By a wide margin, too.
That being typed, the only way that I'm the "it" factor is the
letters "sh" come first.

I feel the same way... Win is first, Damage done is second,
Survival is usually not even something i worry about.

What is that? How do you pronounce that word? Pat-I-EN-Ce? I

Like FifStreet, I think there are a number of games where I can
see the outcomes of my actions pretty clearly, and taking a
different course would have resulted in different outcome. Most
of the time it's lamenting a lack of situational awareness as my
hulk of iron smolders on the field when I push forward and get
picked off. I can't say I see myself as the 'it' factor, as even
when I'm doing well the rest of your team can either make or
break that game.
In a platoon, however I can see the actions of the platoon as a
whole change the game more often.
I'm actually LESS aggressive in a platoon as I try and keep a
line/formation, monitor my platoon-mates current status,
spot/block for them, etc. but just the extra situational
awareness that I can't seem to muster alone gets us wins more
often - unless OFF'ers are on the Red team :-)

People who have platooned with me will know how often I say
something like "OK, I'm going to drive my V/IV at speed into
their rear, and when they turn around to shoot me you guys shoot
them in the ass!"
It works out surprisingly often.

If I am platooning that I don't feel like the it factor I'm
hoping the platoon I'm in will be, but if I'm lone wolfing then
I feel more of the it factor, so when I'm alone I take out my
tanks that do the most alpha damage because a good punch in the
mouth seems to be a deterrent to most on the OPFOR. :1foryou:

The other night platooning with you and DeadPool, going up the
hill on El Halluf, you were in a british tier 8 i think he was
in a T28 Prot and I was in my Tiger 2, with a blown engine. You
were playing the game exactly like i like to as well. Run into
their face, hit em, back off, we would pop them, you would
repeat. It was working tremendously well... Until you died ;)
But it was fun to play punch and back off with someone else who
does the same. And then to have a big a$$ gun behind you to do
some major damage... that was awesome too.

I think your priorities are incorrect.
For the way the game is currently formatted, damage is the most
important thing. Your xp and silver are tied to it
Then survivial
Then k/d
Wins are last
Who makes more silver and xp the guy on the winning team with
zero damage or the guy on the losing team with to damage. Top
damage
I know there are members who put a premium on high win
percentages... I view this as flawed, the win % is beyond our
control, donkey teams lemming trains ect. But we can contol
our damage dealt vs recieved andnultimately k/d ratio.
My point, dont get hung up on win percentage...there is one
more important stat, damage, that once mastered will make the
other stats follow.
