So you know how I dislike the Chaffee, well, WTF!?

So tonight I took some tanks out and for nostalgias sake I took
out my AT2. I popped into a battle on Steppes with one Tier VII
per side and a bunch of tier VI's. A bit unusual but whatever. I
half noticed a platoon on the other side but was eager to get
into it so didn't spend long on the map screen. Then I see 4
frakin Chaffee's rip straight through a medium on the flank,
tear past and kill our two Arty and then rpoceed to wreak havok
on my team. Holy Crap Batman!
4 Chaffee's in a platoon with some guys who know what they are
doing and run as a wolf pack = serious carnage. They got 7 kills
between them and finished top four.
Never seen it before and hope not too again. Unless there's some
Offers who want to run such a platoon :)

that's pretty darn impressive , lol. Im kind of shocked to not

Here's my take on this...
While platooning 3 or more Chaffees seems like fun and
potentially overpowered (see image in original post), I wouldn't
recommend this. In a tier IX or X match having 3 or more of any
of the light tanks we currently have available, on a team is
probably a bad thing (unless the red team has the same). The
Chaffee is a tank that suffers from Diminishing returns.
I did a quick check of the 4 players and they all seem pretty
skilled and it looks like they platoon together often. They
probably have really good teamwork, but it doesn't look like
they exclusively run Chaffees trying to get into tier VI or VII
games.

Totally agree Fif.... It doesn't hurt that they are in a Tier
VII match with only a few 7s. I would LOVE to wolfpack Chaffes
in a TIer VII match.....

It was actually more of a Tier V/VI lobby...1 Tier VII per
team...yes a wolf pack of well played Chaffees in a lobby
comprised of mostly Tier V and VI tanks is going to wreak
havoc... :1foryou:

Four platooned Chaffees in a teir X match would make me mad.
Spotting ability negated and out gunned. If by chance you
waited/survived until there was a lone tank of any type then the
four of you could do what one Chaffee could, just faster. I'd
rather have some heavier hitting tanks in those other three
spots. Lower teir matches = FUN, but that happens so rarely in
my Chaffee I'd just soon get a regular MM tank and try to kick
butt in that.

Think the chaffees great but not so much in a tier 10 match.But
a platoon of t71s sounds like a great time and mostly in tiers 8
and 9.

I got "stuck" (or so I thought) in a match with a platoon of 4
or 5 T-71s a couple weeks ago and first thought was "great, a
platoon of lights" which of course the REDS had platoon of
"real" tanks. well I couldn't have been more wrong. That platoon
of T-71s worked extremely well together and shredded the REDS
with those auto-loaders. it was quite a site and I was really
impressed with how they worked together.

Now you're talking - a platoon of T71's. I'm up for it.
Part of why I dislike the Chaffee so much is that I always saw
9's and 10's and I'd see the T21's and T71's in the same
battles. I always thought I'd rather be in a tier 7 light than a
tier 5. Now I'm in my T71 and I see Chaffee's and Leopards and
feel sorry for them.
So Firday night lights we're running 4 or 5 man T71's? Hehe.
