I used to develop all my own film/prints in my youth (an Uncle
taught me at 13 to do B&W and it was all uphill from there).
But I gotta say, the digital darkroom is a beautiful thing once
you get the hang of it, and no more smelling like stop
bath/fixer all day.

My dad still has all the equipment for a darkroom waiting on me
if I can ever find TRUE B&W film again at a reasonable cost. I
just dont like the 'ease' of digital. I like f-stops and stuff.
LOL

history, or animal show...spending time with The Fam ...
Just the basic stuff.

At work I'm an Internet Plumber a Consulting Engineer in
networking. I travel a bit for work, which explains my
occasional 1-3 week absences from WoT :snarl:
So if I disappear for a bit, it's not you, it's me, LOL.
When I'm not on the work grind, I do a bit of photography
(digital, Cannon bodies/lenses), competition pistol shooting
(IDPA), and I'm planning on getting back into shape for some
mountain biking again towards fall (an old hard-tail Trek,
nothing seriously 'boing-boing' - I'm too old to do serious
downhills/drops :old:).
The family includes my wife, two kids, and 3 dogs (Pembroke
Welsh Corgi, a Corgi mix, and a Hound mix rescue).
I tend to be a bit of a 'garbage-head' as my wife says it.
Meaning I stuff lots of obscure facts into my head and they pop
out at mostly appropriate times. Think Cliff Clavin and "It's a
little known fact that cows were domesticated in Mesopotamia and
were also used in China as guard animals for the forbidden
city."...
except I try to stick to known facts
*edit* Oh yeah, I cook too. Something picked up while
line-cooking during my college years. Alton Brown I'm not, but I
do try (and do ok at it, or so my wife says!)

Oh I understand the problem with procuring true B&W... I was
looking to get my son into photography the same way I was, but
even though I have room for a darkroom now, you just can't find
film at prices like the old days [I used to do bulk-loaders with
Pan-X/Tri-X and roll my own to size, now THAT was cheap].
He's using one of the entry-level bodies of mine, but honestly
the ability to *click* no, *click* no, *click* that looks
good... doesn't teach them to try and compose a shot or think
about it. When a roll of 20 shots is going to take you two hours
to process, proof print, and another hour to compose/crop and
print 2 or 3 at larger sizes, you tend to think about the shot
more.

Professionally I am the "Senior" Project Manager in charge of
the signage program for one of the big 3 domestic automakers.
When I'm not keep-deep in fighting code departments, and spoiled
dealers, I dabble in photography (I'm still trying to figure out
my new DSLR), do laps of US 129 and Cherohala Skyway on my
motorcycle (East Tennessee is a motorcyclist's paradise), throw
lead downrange through my sundry collection of firearms, and
annoy the local fish with random lures and bait.
I got very lucky in the lottery of life in that I met, and
married, a Scotts-Irish Redhead that shares every interest
except for my Xbox hobby.

I work in the US retirement savings division of a huge
multi-national insurance company. More specifically in the
conrtols (compliance) department. I make sure the areas that
teams my department covers are in compliance with regulations.
(38a-1, 22c-2, NY reg 60...) I am also the anti-money laundering
coordinator for our site. exciting stuff
In my spare time I play tennis, some golf, do some model kits,
and enjoy going to the casino.

I'm the full-time carer and home educator for our autistic 10
year old son. I spent a dozen years as a field
underwriter/broker for a company with an underwriting authority
from Lloyd's of London and have sold furniture, double glazing
and life insurance in my time. When I can, I do a small amount
of management consultancy and write articles on foreign policy
for websites.
I play the tabletop rpg GURPS (
HTML https://edgerunners.obsidianportal.com/
) for relaxation when
I'm not blowing poo up on WoT. I'd like to find more time to
practice my fencing (longsword as well as epee) and to get back
to blogging at
HTML http://notthesingularity.com/
regularly.

When I'm not getting blown to pieces... I drive tractor trailer
locally in the Detroit metro area delivering just about
everything you can think of auto parts to pizza sauce.
I also like to trail ride but I'm getting a little old for that
so I stick to paved trails.
My other hobby is mid-evil larping or live action roleplaying,
basically going out to a campsite and beating the crap out of
one another with padded weapons... its a good stress reliever.
