Ugly streak of games

After Warsteiner mentioned he was kinda surprised I didn't go up
the French Light/Medium line, I decided to revisit it.
I was about half done with the AMX 12t grind. I finished it
last night and unlocked the AMX 13 75. The last 8 games with
the 12t were some of my worst games ever... 1 win and some games
lasted less than 1 minute. I finished the grind with the
following:
57 games
44% win rate
K/D: 0.76
DC/R: 1.08 ?
No medals of significance other than a defender.
I bought the 13 75 and played 1 game in it, died instantly.
Should I continue? Does it get better?
I should love these tanks, but I don't. What's wrong with me?

I don't know much about the French line (I am grinding french
arty currently at Tier 4), but all I can say is RNG & MM, the
Gods of War in this game decided to frown on you. I too am
not a very good light tank player, but when I run into awful
grinds like that I switch servers, reboot, kill a chicken and
drop its blood on my controller, burn incense, whatever it takes
to get the hex gone and win with decent games.
EDIT - I did not mean to imply Fif wasn't good at lights. I
was stressing the fact that I basically suck at them. Sorry for
any misunderstanding.

Fif, IDK.... I am on the fence as well... I think that the only
thing keeping me going is the loooonnnnnngggggg grind to the Bat
Chat.

The thing is Fif is an excellent light tank player... <object

LOL... Thank you, but I don't mean to discourage anybody from
these tanks.
I really think these tanks may require a different play style
than the US/Ger/Soviet lights. They seem more like a cross
between a TD and a light? Is this right?

Having messed around with them on the test server (a VERY
limited sample and situation, I admit) they are ... different.
They really don't seem like front line scouts. They're more like
very, very lightly armored mediums that are better at exploiting
weak flanks and making runs after arty. Sure, they're small and
can hide in some spots other lights can't, but they certainly
aren't on the level of a T-71, IMHO. Mainly because, unlike the
PC, there's just not enough soft cover to truly take advantage
of their itty bitty size and camo factor.
You get decent top packages in terms of guns, and being able to
do burst damage with that autoloader is nice. BUT ... that
crazy-long reload time means you really have to play
conservatively and ALWAYS have an exit plan. It also helps to
have someone else running with you; that way you can have
someone to keep the reds at bay while you reload.
I will note, however, that the BatChat is freaking awesome. Have
to play it the same way -- hanging behind the front line folks
until there's an opening. But when that opening presents itself,
a badass can just own in it.
In fact, I can see you can Oxi getting one and being all like:

If on a bad run - play another nation or switch server. It may
all be in my head but it works more often than not.

I'm having similar issues with it too Fif. Will try the hold
back and flank tactic see how I go. I like fast mediums and do
well with them so it may suit me. I want that bat chat so
bad!!!!!! Leopard proto is probably my fave at the moment.
Finish darn night shift and I'll be able to play!!!!
