For me, it's simple: Am I having fun while getting better week
after week? Am I killing more, damaging more, spotting more
(vital given how many lights I play), and surviving more -- all
while enjoying myself?*
If so, I'm happy.

(* A few months back I started to get really worked up with
every bad game I had. And while losing can still get old --
especially when it happens frequently -- I've really, really
tried to just chill and have fun regardless. After all, if it's
not fun, why the hell am I playing? So my sincere apologies to
anyone who had to put up with that crap. I'm better now.
Promise! **)
(** Except for the JPII. Still hate that damn thing and might be
known to go off on it every now and then. :bigsmile: )

War makes good sense, as always. The fun factor is the most
important to me and when I am able to platoon I have the most
fun. I don't know if the other platoon members do, but with the
quality of players we have here and their combined sense of
humor, skill, and good character how could you not have fun?

Having fun, teamwork consistant top 5 finishes. I think
enjoying playing and striving to improve help me personally. I
got told the other day that I was a good individual player but
bad in a team. I disagree I like working as part of a team.
Some platoons it goes well sometimes it doesn't. It's always
better with people I know well and platoon with a lot. We know
what to expect from one another so team work is better. I
think I can hold my own individually if I need to. Please feel
free to tell me what you guys I platoon with think. It would be
helpful to know.

Well I really enjoy the fun/teamwork aspect side o' things .
Having solo'ed for a couple o three months. ( last month waiting
for OFF to reopen membership applications ).
I wanted to become a reasonable player so by the time I got
into OFF I wouldn't be a hinderance to my platoon mates.
Also just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone in OFF for
the warm
welcoming attitude ( particularly Phunk Pilot , in the first
few days, for the positive encouragement he has shown to myself
and WotnoChad ).
Thanks for your patience shown to us ( me and my bro ) newbies.

ps, I voted Damage/Kills/ people like to play with me, in that
order.

And so this thread is about to become a slanging match. Totally
unnecessary. The OP was asking what we thought made us good
players not what we think makes others bad players. Attitude is
almost as important in a team as anything else. The stats don't
reflect that at all. Happy tanking.

My tanking style varies....from forward scout that transforms
into hard cover for the reds or greens to carful and crafty, I
have not looked at my stats since coming back to WoT though I do
consistently finish top 5(unless phunk is on the reds side).
Stats are a vauge measure of ability no more as they do not
take into account how you feel,how lucky or unlucky you are
etc.... Use them as a guide not a gospel. That's my thoughts
others may view things differently but Tha is what makes us
great....

Damage is leading the voting... :amazed: I'm in trouble.
Personally I use win% and WN8 to judge myself. The point of the
game is to win, right? So, was I on the winning side, and did I
feel I contributed to that effort?
