New Member Registrations and Our Meet & Greet Program
   DIR By: AntacidObject66

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Hello Everyone!
Well, its near that time again when we re-open our membership
registration. Over the last few months we have received quite a
few requests, most of which have been added to a Call-Back List.
Today, those on the list were sent an email inviting them to
submit their information for registration, which will be
approved upon receipt. At this time, however, we are still not
quite ready to open it to the general public.
One of the reasons for this is that during our down-time, we
have organized a formal Meet and Greet team to help new members
get acquainted with our group, platoon with and make all the
general introductions. Each new member will be assigned (for
lack of a better word) to a current member for such purposes.
The Staff/Key Member list in the Newcomers Staging Area has been
updated with a list of our Greeters. Over the next 30 days or
so, this pilot project will be in place, allowing us to ensure
that it works, and the time to make any adjustments necessary.
In addition, there have been a couple of changes to the
registration process. First, as we are an age-based group, date
of birth is now required on the membership application. Second,
upon membership approval, an email will be sent to the potential
new member requiring them to log in to the forums to activate
their account. This will hopefully ensure that players actually
do wish to be members, and avoid unnecessary accounts that will
need to be deleted in the future. Third, all new members are
given Recruit status for the first 30 days of their membership,
after which time they will be contacted by the Board and if they
still wish to be active with our group, they will be promoted to
       full member.
We hope that moving forward from here, that we will continue to
build a strong, healthy and active group.
       Thank you,
       Board of Directors

By all means. Send me a PM with your usual server and play
times, and I will add you to the team. Thanks Sgt!

Message sent. I've cleared a couple names off my list to make
some space. Could drop a couple more if I need to, but don't
want to cut to deeply. :nerd:

Feedback time from one of your test subjects:
So far, I have been made to feel very welcome. I feel as though
I've come "home", for want of a better way to express that. Most
forums I belong to are populated by much younger folks
(necessary for my business), and many don't get my sense of
humor, and, other than the obvious, I don't have a lot in common
       with them, either.
Platooned with Brad first (OldRUGERS51; although he is not my
assigned Meet and Greet Team Member), and he was patient, and
helped me out, giving me pointers, places on the maps to go,
etc. Met my M&G Team Member ta2dflip just before signing off,
and hilarity ensued. Had a good one hour game session and much
jokin' and pokin' in the Party Chat.
Second platooning session went well, and got to meet more
OFFers, and do some more platooning. Basically, I donked out of
most battles, since they were T4/5/6 for the most part, and my
Matilda is a slow cow compared to most of the other tanks at
those tiers. I appreciate the patience shown by everyone. Never
did any online gaming, except for a little old skool Diablo II
stuff years ago. I think you people have spoiled me so far.
You have a wonderful group of people here, and I am honored to
be a part of that group. Thank you :)

Maddog - thank you. It has been my pleasure to help out. Much
like your experiences online, other than a couple Madden
disasters, WoT is my first foray into an online game and OFF is
my first the clan I have joined, and I feel extremely lucky to
have stumbled into such a good group of guys and gals. Basically
I am just trying to pay forward the great treatment I received
       when I joined OFF.

Wait, what? Brad was patient? His XBL account must have gotten
       hijacked.
