So I played the Destiny Demo

The demo covers five missions in Russia plus a few side mission.
While it is very pretty I was not really over the moon about one
of the main elements, combat. The inability to use cover
properly means it's usually a case of moving left and right,
moving behind cover as needed while the enemy move in and out of
cover. You cannot fire from cover or am I missing something. It
was most noticeable when I was fighting the levitating boss on
the level five mission. He was moving left and right while I
was doing the same thing avoiding his fire and the minions. It
just felt like I was playing a 3d version of the old 2d sideways
       scroller.
I did enjoy the "events" and found the demo a pleasant enough
diversion but will not be dashing out to spend €60 on the game.
       Am I missing something?

I'm playing the demo as well. I mostly fire from cover. I use
the hand cannon a lot. So lots of reloading and need for cover.
Wizards tend to get a rocket in the ass to drop their shield
then blasted by the hand cannon. Only issues I have with cover
is the damn hive because they bum rush your ass.
I'm in agreement with you and not planning buying it. I'd rather
       get Dragon Age Inquisition.

I lost interest over time as well. It got too repetitive. I'll
play around with it again, but not until I get further in Dragon
Age. Swag, you want a game that will consume time while you
recover from surgery, DA is it. I have like 20 hours in and am
       scratching the surface.
That and it has coop multiplayer. Havent tried that yet either.

I saw the demo was available for download but I passed on it.
Nothing I've seen about Destiny has engaged me at all. On the
surface, I should have been all over this...Bungie launching a
Halo-a-like? Yup, right up my alley. I think it's the whole
multiplayer/fireteam/social aspect that turned me off.
As far as I can tell, I'm not alone either. Bungie seem to have
lost the recipe to their secret sauce. Maybe Masterchief took it
with him to 343? They need to look hard at what they've
produced here and find out why it doesn't click with people who
should have been day one players (like me). Destiny is a huge
       fumble IMO.

I actually think it was Activision that screwed up Destiny. This
game was to be Bungie's masterpiece but that takes time and
after 7 years, Activision was tired of waiting. So from what
I've heard, alot of the story was nixed just to get the game to
print. Originally, all the factions were involved in the story,
which in itself would have added a ton. The best part about
Destiny is the gun play. Instead of THE rocket launcher or THE
sniper rifle, you have almost limitless weapon variations.
Unfortunately, I really suck at the multiplayer so it's back to
tanks I go. Someday I will get my hands on a XBone though and
give Halo 5 a try. Always liked the military aspect mixed with
       jet packs and the likes.

I do so love the hand cannon. It's almost derp like. I spend
most of my time just running and gunning using the throwing
knive when I need a reload. :troll:

I did find it a nice change of pace from WOT but I figure it
would get repetitive quickly. You get a bigger gun and better
armour but that's just so you can fight higher level bosses.
       Just the scenery changes.
I needed a break from WOT for a few days had a bad streak that
       lasted over a week.
Will try DA eventually but I will probably get the PS4 or xbone
in the new year so no new games til then.

I downloaded the demo and played through it. I really enjoyed
it. I am really considering buying it. $50 is a lot though.
