I never cap in that situation, but there will always be 1-3
muppets who do.

Let me just chime in with the winning bonus xp.....
1). Killing all Reds ... all team gets a small bonus xp for that
2). Cap Win... only the 1st 3 or 4 guys to get on the cap are
able to claim that bonus...
Do the math.... its just plain selfish to cap in that situation.

unless you are the one who gets damage on the arty or the kill I
don't know that it matters. but damage = more XP than capping so
I always try for total destruction unless there is the chance
going after last tank could result in loss (time expire, etc).
wait... warsteiner1 just said entire team gets small xp bonus
while I was typing my reply so destruction would be better if
that is the case.

Hello,
For me in the situation you put fourth I take the view of XP and
Silver per hour.
I try to keep the below in mind:
Every player in the cap circle at the time of the cap gets an XP
and silver boost (regardless of the number of players in the
circle).
There is NO bonus given for killing them all.
There is a team damage bonus.
Is the amount on the remaining tank or two worth the time it
takes or the cost of shells and possible damage.
Can I make more XP and silver by ending this game and moving on
to the next.
Do I know for a fact where the enemy is.
How much time is left on the clock.
What is my health and the health of the remaining opponent.
This is not and easy one answer fits all game in my view that is
why so many think the MM, RNG or spotting is not working. I am
not a great tanker like many of you but, I do have knowledge of
how the game works yet, I still learn something new every day.
The one thing I do know is that this game is XP + silver +
number of games played (per hour all) = tank line
advancement/game understanding and fun.
Much of this is a matter of play style and personal opinion (so
far as what ='s fun and personal game goals). I hope that I am
some help. I would just like to end with this I personally feel
that early capping and killem all are bad for the overall health
of this game at the end of the day in my view it is a matter of
balance and long/short term strategic thinking.
Thanks for your time and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

I got of the cap in on recent game to let a teammate kill the
last red. He could not get it done and we had a draw and got a
lot less XP. Sometimes it's better to cap.

For me every game is seek and destroy. I look at capping as the
last means of victory... I don't even think about XP just
killing every red. :1foryou:

It's all about making an intelligent, informed decision based on
numerous factors presented to you at the end of the game.
Unfortunately, only a few players are ever capable of doing that
at any one time and opinions will differ. This is based on
ignoring those who are too stupid, drunk or high to weigh up the
options. Consequently, a consensus is very rarely reached.
My philosophy is that I'll go for the cap only if we are
outnumbered, our base is under threat and I won't get back in
time to reset it.

Generally I'm looking to add a ring to the barrel ESPECIALLY if
it's an arty as your situation is. But as Steampunk rightly
points out, first and foremost is how much time is left? I've
gotten games as draws due to hunting down that last one. I've
won an encounter because of time running out and the other team
just trying to kill the last one. Usually I don't need to "know"
where that arty is out, it's just about whether it was smart
enough to take off and if it takes the route no one else did to
not find it quickly. But I have had games where you go F it,
let's hit the next game and take less silver and xp for the cap
then all the kills. Plus I'd like to add one thing to the list
of Steampunk's and that is "what tank are you in, in order to go
look for said last tank?". Since I generally like to play
lights and meduims, go on the hunt isn't and problem. Same with
some TDs and heavies. But how about some of those others that
you feel like your tank's engine is all la Fred Flinestone
style. Start the cap, usually the tank will show. Make it a game
of "who can win?", the ones going for the kill or the ones
capping. For me if I'm capping, I'll roll just out of the circle
and back in to reset my points and give the hunters more time.

The only thing to keep in mind is how many opponents are left ,
and do you think your team is capable of killing them all. If
you are heavily outnumbered then yes... capping is the way to
go. But lest say it 12-3 in your teams favor... Capping is just
selfish . The cap should always.. and i mean ALWAYS be a last
resort to a win , its very clear in the amount of XP awarded for
a cap that compaired to the amount awarded for killing all the
enemy tanks that its set up to be just that.
Im sorry , and i know its not a popular opinion , BUT....
Capping is selfish ! The only people getting that bonus are the
cappers , who most of the time are miles away from where the
real fighting is going on !!
There IS a bonus for killing all the other tanks , its all
calculated in how much damage your team does to the other team ,
and EVERYONE gets this , not just the few in the cap circle .
So in closing....Damage helps your whole team... capping sees to
it that only YOU get that bonus.... not a very team oriented
choice to me.
