       Pictures and Memories

I thought I'd share a couple pictures of my Military family.
My dad was in the Air Force and was posted in Korea just after
the Korean war. Him and five of his six brothers were in some
branch of the armed forces. My oldest uncle just passed away
last month was in the Army during WWII.
My husband's stepdad was in the Air Force too. My dad and him
would sit around and tell all kinds of stories some I had heard
and some it had been so long since I had that I had forgotten
them. It was always interesting to hear them.
To those that have served.....THANK YOU!
       My Dad

       Great pictures, Swag.
My Grandfather, Romero Regnier, who I never got to meet, since
he passed before I was born, was a West Point Grad:salute:. One
of the coolest things I came across was from the West Point
Associates of Graduates- a Testimonial. Its a little long but I
thought I would post part of it and link to the rest. It kinda
helped me realize what a special man he was. His Calvary Sword
has been on my mantle for 20 years....
In April of 1942 he dismantled and abandoned a prosperous and
successful business to re-join the armed forces of his country.
In the beginning of this period of his service he had charge of
the supervision and training of Air Corps personnel at a basic
training center which reached a continuous strength of
thirty-six thousand men. He was responsible for the organization
and for the training of those men. He participated in the Battle
of the Bulge, in the campaigns of Normandy, Northern France,
Rhineland and the Ardennes. Thereafter he served with Civil
Affairs in France and as Economic Officer in Belgium where he
worked with a detachment on a departmental level. As such, he
was in charge of problems involving food, agriculture, trade and
industry at its most difficult times during and immediately
after various campaigns. Later he served in the same capacity
with the military government in Germany. He was separated from
service in March of 1946 with the grade of Major.
