I have seen in a lot of the platoons that we do this. It's not
very structured or thought out. As I see it, the platoon leader
will pick their tank and each other member will select theirs on
the basis of what they excel in or might complement what has
already been selected.
(Example: PL selects Tier V Heavy, someone grabs an Arty, a
couple other heavys or TD's, and the last person will grab a
medium to support the heavy's and give the TD and Arty some
eyes.)
One of our big strengths is we try to keep an eye on the map,
Green member movements, and communicate even once we are
ghosting instead of just going back to the garage.
Could we benefit from a bit more preplanning possibly.

BYTOR, like you mentioned with WWW, I think that some of the
events can help foster the tactical side. I know that for Heavy
Education on Wed, we have been trying to do a little more of
this with coordinating a little more than usual.

I almost hate to bring this up... :hitself:..but during the
Shillelagh Law event the fact that we had to run different types
of tanks lent itself to "strategic platooning" and the results
were impressive, win rate, scores etc. I think this is something
we should do more of even during casual platooning runs...it
really did not hamper the "fun" aspect in any way, actually just
the opposite...success added to the fun...and we all learned
from each other (I know I did) by watching our clan mates excel
in their chosen types of tanks. :headbang:

BattleAxe, that was totally true on our end as well. We
consistently racked up some pretty impressive wins (but
obviously not impressive enough :shit:). The one things that
did suffer though was the grind, which was not all bad now that
I think of it, since there was no way in hell I was taking out a
tank that didn't have the final package on it.

LOL...Oh yes... only tip top tanks rolled during that event...as
far as grinding, that is why I only do that when I am "Lone
Wolfing" that way it is only I that suffers and I do not have to
subject the platoon to my playing less than "robust" tanks...

That being said, why can't we have a couple of events per week
where the whole goal is to work on tactics and strategy. It
could sort of be the incubator for more advanced platooning and
training. Ideally they would be run by someone/ people that
have some proper military training and I know that we have a few
out there. Maybe run 3 events (tiers 4-6, 7&8, 9&10) or 2
events (4-7 and 8-10). This one wont be as "social/ casual" as
some of the events, still fun, how could they not--sort of the
Anti-cheesedick! I would be totally up for this, but not to
lead, (the Air Guard is probably not the military experience we
want!). If there seems to be interest, I will start
a formal thread for this.

In general computer game tactics and real life tactics are not
the same, so I think it would be better if the most/more
experienced players ie. those who know the maps lead these.

Good day boys and girls...I've been thinking...I know I know
that is a scary proposition...at times during our platooning
sessions we will decide to "Wolf Pack" in our Hellcats, Pz
V/IVs, Furys, T34-88 etc. and generally we are very successful
in those matches...
A) I think we generally need to do that more often...but I also
wonder...
B) What are your thoughts on a dedicated Wolf Pack"
event?...along those lines I'd like to make a suggestion...
Sherman Sunday PM does not get any action, so what if we change
it to a Wolf Pack event and either leave it on Sunday PM or
maybe think about moving it to another time slot?
Any thoughts?
