Nope..... the rest are Autoloaders with turrets. Most have the
rear mounted turret, but are turreted none the less.

Yeah Fif they're rear placed, fully rotating, 6 shot autos with
only a 36 shell load out. I know how that ELC can be when you go
running through a group of reds and you can't lock on and shoot
as you would in a chaffee or 71. I personally perfered the urban
setting as to be able run right at them, lock on(if not
already), fire and turn behind some buildings and come running
in from a different angle since I'll be locked on already(as
long as it stayed lit up). Other wise play a back up TD role
after your spotting run with that gun on it. So far I'm up to
that final grind in the 13 75.

Plus the "Thank You Tankers" Op is the perfect thing to use to
help get those French crews built up quicker during the next 5
days.

I am still trying to figure out how anyone in WG thought fitting
a tier 3 gun to a tier 6 TD was a good idea. Sorta defeats the
whole point of being a TD. I just hope the higher tiers are
worth the tears

French tanks certainly are NOT for everyone.
Bottom tiers are OK armored but slow, and the guns range from
the OP (the Pak tier III premium tank comes to mind) to the
wholly underwhelming (e.g., that tier IV gun on the tier VI TD
Nahwasntme mentioned).
Upper tiers focus on speed, with less armor. Those changes are
balanced out by having auto-loaders that can unleash hell very
quickly.
From what I can tell, their lights are far and away their
biggest strength, their mediums are meh until you get the
BatChat (which I played on test and is ABSURDLY fun) and their
heavies are a lot more like mediums. Their TDs seem to bounce
between good and bad one tier to the next -- there's not a lot
of consistency in play style until you get into tier VII and up.
NOTE: This is from my experiences on the test server, so your
mileage may vary. :grin: Warsteiner1 is really the French tank
expert around these parts.

It is actually a tier 3 gun not a tier 4. As you say though the
FCM 36 PAK 40 is a great tank if your top tier. Slow with no
traverse but on an open map where you can stay hidden it is
lethal. Very first game in it I was top tier on Prok and got 9
kills. Got my first hacker mail too, Lol. However when I see
Ensk I cry.

Thanks guys.
I spent gold to free XP my way past the AMX 40. Would be a
shame to have to do it again for the ELC, only to find out that
I'm not a good fit for the rest of the tanks in the line.
This line and the US auto-loader line seem very odd to me. The
tanks don't seem to "flow". what I mean, is that for most other
lines, the things you learn while grinding the different tanks
build on each other. These lines don't seem to do that for me.

I think that once you get past the ELC, then there is a little
more logical progression. Even the mediums in this line play
light lights anyways.

Yeah the autos can be a bit weird. I kinda like going in blitz
attacks with em, unload like hell and disappear to go else where
if possible
