I sold the B1 and have headed up the AMX 13 90 line. The B1 is
the worst tank I have ever seen, even with shooting premium
rounds it couldn't pen a M3 Lee...HORRIBLE tank. There is a tank
worse than the M3 Lee.

All three teir 5 French tanks have great reputations and are
very fun to play, worth relatively short grinds to get to them.
I am at teir IV for all of them now, almost there.
There are some tier VI and VII French tanks that are nightmares,
but again you will be happy when you get past them.
My strategy is to get to tier V and then build up my crews. I
do not want to head into Teir Vi and Vii grinds with terrible
crews. I need at least three perks/skills then I will make the
next move.
One Note: Most tanks have strengths and weaknesses, they cannot
all do what you want them to do. But when you use their
strengths they are great fun.
For instance, the SAu 40 gets universally bashed, yet it can
have great games. It has no armor, so stay hidden, but the top
gun can rip tanks up. SO, that makes it like a lot of other TDs
we know. For some reason I think the look of a tank makes
people thinkg it should do something it cannot. It looks like a
metal beast but it is not.
As for the B1, I won;t keep it, but it is fun, the RoF is great.
The key is to keep moving to positions where you can get side
and flank shots (unless you top tier then rip people up). I
love this tank because it is the historical giant of the pre
WWII French thinking, the world thought these tanks were the
best. It is not all bad. But the big thing is you get the S 35
CA after a short grind....now you should like that tank...at
least you will like the top gun!

Even the top gun on that tank was crap. I was going to grind the
final package for the tier V, but I couldn't pen on a M3 Less or
various other light tanks and was getting owned every time I
confronted another tank...unless it was another B1, then we just
sat there shooting each other causing no damage...P.O.S. tank.

I had a game like that in the tier IV light, think it's the AMX
40 or something. WE sat there shooting each other, bouncing shot
after shot. Lucky for me my arty was hitting him so he couldn't
damage me but my friend could damage him :). After that game I
started to play it a bit like a medium and noted who was in
front of me. If I knew the tank I would just bully them because
I knew I could bounce the shots, especially from the turret. Got
my Ace tanker so pretty happy. Then I went to the duck, tier IV
light. Holy #%@& what a POS! I used free XP to upgrade it and it
still sux. You meet KV's and Stugs and stuff in it and you can't
even run because you can only do 12 km/h. I'm going to cash in
some free XP and get past it quick to the AMX.

ELC is to, to , BAWHAHAHAHAHA!!! Its to fun not to drive in an
insane fashion. I just was running next to a Crusader and he was
having issues getting far enough down to hit me. A freaking
light Crusader. Plus it profile is so low you can shot under all
the rail cars on maps like Ensk. For the AMC 38/40 treat them
more like a TOG or Matlida BP but with a crappy gun then a light
and carry like 18+ rounds of prem

Got the tier III TD last night via free XP, and ... well, it's
awfully damn slow for such a tiny tank and it has ZERO armor. It
makes the Alecto look like a T-95.
That being typed ... DAT TOP PACKAGE, THO!!
Seriously. The top gun on it is FREAKING INSANE for a tier III,
allowing this thing to easily hold its own even when bottom tier
-- just so long as you're never spotted. 'Cause once you are,
you're toasted. But, man...110 pen and 75 damage is similar to
the Matilda, and you can just abuse when top tier thanks to the
360 m view range.
I know there are a few dogs along the TD line, but the Foch is
more than worth it.
Going to see about spending a few bucks so I can get some
premium time (might start buying it monthly) and free XP to zoom
up to the ELC. It was absurdly fun on test and I like my light
tanks.

So, I have spent the past few weeks trying to grind out the
French. I am on the precipice of being able to move on to the
tier 6 versions off each line.
The Bad News
For multiple reasons these tanks are tough to play.
1) I am too accustom to having good crews, and having these
terrible crews, with no sighting or hiding augmentations is just
brutal
2) When you take #1 into account, and add that the heavy tanks
are so easily spotted to begin with, and are made of paper, play
becomes a real drag
3) The Tier 6 and 7 vehicles are supposed to be some of the
worst in the game. Even the TDs become huge and impossible to
hide.
Across the board these tanks have few positive attributes
compared to what I could be driving. If I was not obsessed with
grinding all lines I would have stopped already. These tanks
are stat murderers, if you are one who cares....
Yet, the S35 CA is an excellent TD in my opinion, it has great
gun traverse, stays hidden well, and has good pop and RoF with
the stock gun.
But all the other work seems so hard for me. I have become
cannon fodder, when I should have been playing my best vehicles
and eating these French alive.
Not sure what I am gonna do with this country of tanks.
I am leaning towards a French Diet. I will play three French
games a day, tops, and just plan on this grind taking about 2
years, or until XBox 360 is shut down.....
(anyone have any postiive comments about teir 6 or 7 French
vehicles??)

I don't know if I'm going to make it past the AMX ELC. I love
everything about this tank, but (and its a HUGE but) it has
non-rotating turret. I just can't seem to get comfortable with
this part of the tank. Are the rest of the tanks after this,
the same? I don't think I could deal with it?
