Another question found it's way out of the leader's mouth
immediately after he answered the previous one. "You receive a
vision of a Clan in trouble, that only you can help. What do you
do?"

She smiled at him. "All your answers match up with the ones I
gave the leader before me. Mantlepeice, it wasn't easy for me,
either. Look how small I am! My paws were in pain constantly, my
fur was always a mess, and half the time, I could barely manage
to walk in a straight line! You'll be fine. Trust me."

He shut his eyes and moaned softly. "I'll try." Mantlepiece
promised, though he was still feeling sick from Ancientstar's
words. When the time came that he actually had to become leader,
he'd probably just choose a deputy and throw himself off the
gorge if just to get away from the stress.

She purred at him. "If you'd like, I can do what Northstar did
for me. She appointed a 'helper', someone who helped with my
duties as deputy. It made the job less stressful, kind of like
having a deputy makes things easier for me. I don't want you to
fry, Mantlepeice. You're one of the best warriors in this Clan,
and one of my closest friends." She smiled at him. "Let me know
if you think it's a good idea, okay?"
