Ancientstar leaped up onto the large rock she used to make
announcements on. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey
gather beneath the Great Rock for a Clan meeting!" Her light,
soprano voice rang out loudly in the clearing, a call to all her
warriors and apprentices.

Mosskit smiled hugely. She ran over to the high rock and sat
down. "I can't wait to train!" She purred to herself. Mosskit
was a very happy-go-lucky kit. She was always happy, kind, neat,
and always tryed to see the good in others. But her loyalty to
her clan shound never be question. She loves her clan, and will
die for it.

Ancientstar smiled. "This is a proud day for WindClan, by naming
apprentices we show WindClan will survive and remain strong.
Mosskit, from now on until you receive your warrior name you
will be known as Mosspaw." She paused. "Mantlepiece, step
forward. You are ready for an apprentice, so you will be
Mosspaw's mentor. I know you will pass on your determination,
loyalty, and courage to Mosspaw, and teach her the skills that
will make her a brave warrior of WindClan."

The ex-rogue limped rapidly out of the warrior's den, shaking
his fur. He was late, and he felt extremely guilty, but he
hadn't had any sleep for the past... three days, and he was
exhausted. "Sorry I'm late- Oh, I have an apprentice."
Mantlepiece's ears went back, and he smiled sheepishly as he
padded up to touch Mosspaw's nose with his own. Allowing his
gaze to flicker up to Ancientstar, he mouthed 'I'm sorry,'
Before purring at Mosspaw.

Ancientstar leaped down from the rock and smiled at her deputy,
nuzzling him. "It's okay. Go sleep. We'll share her training so
that you don't have to be worked so hard. I was a deputy once
too, you know. I know what it's like to be swamped with stuff,
and always hoping that you'll be a good leader when your time
comes. Mantlepiece... You're an amazing deputy. You'll be an
even better leader." She smiled and nudged him. "Go on now.
Rest, you deserve it."

"Thanks, I..." The black Maine Coon smiled apologetically and
stumbled towards the warrior's den, barely making it halfway
towards it before he collapsed, asleep already. He twitched his
tail and yawned in his sleep, stretching out.
