       The Execution [Y1057]
By: DolittleMax Date: May 24, 2020, 3:59 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Characters Involved: Asena Valda (@Kimcora), Damon Roux
       (@DolittleMax), Eudithe d'Elphine (@Pyxie), Gabrielle Brighteye
       (@unknownmercury), Vanessa Chavrelet (@Pyxie)
       Damon Roux
       Location: Roux Cottage, Alessandria
       Accompanied: N/A
       Equipped: Tea-pot
Damon moved with nervous and hastened steps, foot-fall on the
cobblestones of the street echoing through the empty area. The
distant sounds of revelry from a nearby tavern could be heard,
but his house was a peaceful distance from the ruckus and he
felt it was in a perfect spot. The nicely built cottage looked
quite normal from the outside, a front porch made of nice timber
fringed the stone house. The house had a fence about it, painted
white by Damon's own hand, which protected the pleasant garden
he had put there. This house was not only his in ownership, but
design as well. He'd saved up over the years and eventually drew
up plans for a team of builders and himself to erect it. Inside,
the floors were stone; a wise move considering his form of magis
and the form of magis of the people who would also eventually
live there. The heavy oak door opened into a living area with
nice but minimal furniture. Beyond that, with a door leading out
into the backyard, was a nice and large kitchen. A welcoming
fireplace for cooking and ample bench-space. To the right was a
hallway with four separate rooms branching off it. One was the
one he occupied, quite a large bed for a single man, the
builders had thought wryly but Damon was the only person who'd
       ever occupied it.
He hurried inside and out of the cold night air to quickly
reignite the fire with a gesture of his hand. He chewed at his
lip nervously and fussed about trying to make sure everything
was clean for when Asena arrived. He had tea ready, as well as
some food since he assumed Asena hadn't eaten much at the
quickly ended banquet. Lei had informed Damon that Asena still
intended on coming despite the fiasco at the banquet and now the
nerves were eating at him. Did she even still want to go on with
their plan they had made all that time ago? Did she still feel
the same way about him as he surely felt about her. He stood in
the house, tapping his foot nervously as he looked about,
waiting for the kettle to boil. The house had always felt so
awkwardly large since he'd moved in only a few months prior. So
empty and void of something. The plan was, of course, that this
house would accommodate a family. A larger one at that, and he'd
built it as such. Damon sighed, trying to use his breathing
exercises to calm his nerves as he waited. With restless and
lost steps, Damon moved to lean against a wall, also stone. It
may have seemed a little cold, but a smile tugged at his mouth
at the thought of how the walls of this house most definitely
needed to be fire proof for it's future inhabitants. That is of
course, if Asena still intended to settle for him.
There was a knock at the door and every thought fell from his
mind as he hurried to go open it, already knowing it would be
Asena there from the way she had knocked. The same knock that
she'd done on his own home back in the small logging town they
were from, the same knock of when she was annoyed and wanted him
to come out of the bathroom when he had lived with her and her
       aunt for some time.
Nervously he opened it, smiling a little.
       "Uh, welcome. Come in."

       Asena Valda
       Location: Roux Cottage, Alessandria
       Accompany: Damon Roux
The night time air was crisp and cool on Asena's skin as she
slipped onto the street from the inn she was staying at. She was
able to slip out of the inn after convincing Melrose she was
alright and the others had gone about their business. She didn't
want them to know where she was going so she wore casual wear,
nothing to draw attention. Perhaps she should have called it a
night and stayed in to lick her wounds and reflect on how to fix
the problem she created. But that wasn't what she wanted, not
now when her emotions were still raw. She wanted to see someone
who would understand and didn't see her as some beacon of hope
or an uncontrolled Magis user. That someone was Damon. Everyone
on her team needed her to be the fearless leader, with all the
answers and the confidence to make this work. At the moment, she
just wanted to be Asena Valda, the girl from Aus Eissen who
wanted to see her...Well...Just what was she to Damon?
She felt her stomach clench as her nerves began to rush her.
They hadn't seen each other in years and Damon obviously was
doing well for himself. Also he had joined the Church again and
was supporting her rival. Sure, he wanted to see her tonight,
but was it to reconnect or to tell her it was over? It wasn't
like they had kept in contact completely...Even if she remained
loyal to that promise she made to him, despite temptations
presented throughout the years, it doesn't mean that this was
destined to work out. She had changed in the last few years, did
things she was proud of, did some things she was ashamed of,
gained new scars, become a skilled warrior, and now was running
as a candidate for the Truce. Would Damon still want the Asena
she was now or would it be to big of a change? Had he changed to
the point she couldn't recognize him either?
Asena gave a heavy breath, grasping her hands together as she
made her way down the back streets. She paused when her finger's
brushed the promise ring on her finger. It brought her back to
the logging town of her childhood and seeing Damon at the ball.
The feelings that filled her at those memories made her
confidence begin to grow. She was there to talk with Damon and
figure things out. She didn't have to make these decisions or
start these assumptions on her own...
With the new found confidence, she made her way to the address
Lei had given her. Asena soon found it, but had to stop at the
fence line a moment to marvel at it a moment. The white fence,
the sunflowers, the pond, the garden, and such a beautiful
little home made of stone with a large sturdy door. It tugged at
her heart, made her feel so light and excited, like....like the
home she always wanted with him. It drew a smile to her lips as
she went ahead towards the door, building up her confidence with
each step. By the time she reached the door, she gave it a hard
knock and pulled away, fiddling with her hands that she held in
front of her. When Damon answered the door, Asena gave him an
       almost sheepish smile.
"Oh thanks." She said quickly to him, feeling an awkward flutter
fill her middle as she went into the entrance way. She let her
eyes wander the space, pacing forward a bit in curious wonder as
she looked at what Damon had built. It was lovely and Asena felt
her expression ease into happy excitement as she looked back at
       him.
"Damon, it's lovely. You had this built?" She asked before she
blinked and realized that she was just glossing over everything
and not getting to the heart of what she wanted to talk about.
"I'm sorry about not getting back to you at the banquet. Well
things got a bit...Anyways, it was good getting to see you
tonight, even if it was all dressed up and so stiff and formal.
I didn't expect it to be with Gabrielle, but I suppose beggars
can't be choosers with reunions." She told him as it was a
strange time for oth of them. She wasn't sure if she should hug
him, kiss him, or keep her distance...

       ---------------------------------------------------------
As Asena entered the room and stood there a moment to look
around, Damon watched her a little nervously. She seemed happy
enough with it, saying it was lovely. As she stood there, still
talking away, Damon just couldn't help it a moment longer.
"Asena..." he breathed softly, stepping forward to wrap his arms
around her; one at her waist and one to gently tilt her face to
his so he could kiss her. He felt his hand tremble a bit as he
felt they were finally reunited and had to let go and take a
shaky breath to compose himself. He stepped back a little,
       hoping he hadn't overstepped.
Snapping out of his need to hold her, he decided it was best if
he explained what was going on. She was probably very confused
considering all that she had seen tonight.
"Oh uh- I best explain before I get distracted. Um, did you want
tea?" he asked, moving to the kitchen to start preparing it. His
hands were a little shaky and he clumsily let the cups and
things rattle against each other. Steadying himself, he began
the long story of all that had happened.
"You may be wondering why I am in Gabrielle's party, considering
my past with the Flames of Embra- Wait, no, that's not a good
place to start. Um..." Damon pinched the bridge of his nose a
moment to clear his thoughts before continuing to make the tea,
now pouring the steaming water over the leaves.
"There was news that the great warrior Asena Valda was to run as
a candidate for the position in the Truce... and you could
imagine that hearing that you were coming to Alessandria, I was
particularly ecstatic. But as the days went by, I bgan to think.
How can I help? I'm much better off than when I started and if I
help, then perhaps your secured position in the Truce could mean
we could pick up where we left off those years ago, like we
planned. Then, I just happened to be in the right place at the
right time and Lei'daisia, the spooky woman from the banquet,
gave me an idea. What if I were to join the party of Gabrielle
in order to infiltrate it. To better aid you by being an extra
pair of eyes and ears. it was perfect because none from the
party knew of me except from what I told them. I was from a
small Temple and decided to move to the city. With all my
knowledge of the manuscripts and Altar boy role, it was easy.
Before I knew it, I was already neck deep in the party and then
       tonight... I saw you and-"
Damon swallowed hard and moved to place a teacup in front of
Asena and sat at the table watching her with anxious eyes.
"I.... I've missed you so much Asena and I thought that maybe
this could mean we could be together... but it''s been so long,
I grew nervous that you had moved on... that all this" he
gestured to the house "wasn't what you wanted any more. I
suppose tonight was not only to tell you of my plan, but to
ask... Well, do you still love me?"

       Asena Valda
       Location: Roux Cottage, Alessandria
       Accompany: Damon Roux
Asena's stomach dropped when he didn't initially respond to her.
She wondered if she had said something wrong or maybe she had
said too much. Was she being awkward? Was she supposed to act?
Why didn't she practice what she was going to say? Asena felt
herself falling into a spiral of negative talk when Damon
suddenly came forward and pulled her close. The touch and
proximity surprised Asena, that much clear by the way her eyes
widened and her mouth opened slightly, a small gasp coming from
her. She didn't return the hold out of shock and instead looked
at him in expectation. Did this mean he still wanted her?
Everything in her wanted to close the distance to kiss him, but
by the time she had the wherewithal to do it, he was pulling
away. She blinked and tried straighten herself, pushing a stray
hair behind her ear as a blush flashed through her cheeks. Seems
she had already begun to get distracted...
She could only get a nod out at the offer of tea as her mind was
still playing catch up with her mind. Right, they were still
confused and she needed answers from him. Like why was he with
Gabrielle? Who was this Lei? Why did he invite her here? Was he
back with Embra? She figured he would take this time to answer
these things so she followed him into the kitchen. The beautiful
large kitchen that stuck a cord with her, as it was damn near
close to what she imagined as a younger woman...
Her eyes flicked back to him when she saw his hands shaking and
her brows eased, leaning forward to put herself closer to the
man in concern. He shouldn't have been worried to talk to her,
but she knew Damon often got into his own thoughts at times. She
watched him make the tea with worry and suspicion clouding her
expression, folding her arms in front of her as she took a seat.
A tension did form in her when he began with mentioning
Gabrielle and the Flames, but he seemed to sense that and walked
       it back.
Asena felt frustration forming, since she hardly could
understand why Damon would side with a mad woman or let Embra
back into his life. Surely it must have been his time in
       Uleplex--
When he changed his answers to the events leading up to the
candidacy, Asena scrutinized him with a single look and her lips
pulled into a firm line. She couldn't help that she was guarded
and unsure if she could trust this. After all, he was siding
with a woman that was a radical...But this was Damon...The only
man that knew more about her than anyone else. She should listen
to him and trust his words...
Her expression lost it's hardness the moment he told her that he
joined Gabrielle to help her, to gather information. However it
was an idea from this Lei'dasia. A dangerous one that could get
him injured, murdered, or worse. It lit a fire of protective
energy in Asena, who currently clutched her own hands to stifle
that energy. Damon had once scolded her for that protective
streak, but this was different. This was a dangerous political
game with people that were less than stable. A woman was
kidnapped tonight, possibly to hurt Malachi. What else were
these people willing to do to secure a victory?
Care clouded her features when he confessed to her his feelings,
especially since he admitted to worries similar to her own. That
was enough to help soothe the worry, the distrust, and fear
there...Damon was putting himself in harms way for her, all to
keep that promise they made that they would find a way back to
each other one day...Her fingers caressed the tea cup, trying to
figure out how she should word her response. Honestly, she
wanted to forget the tea and go for him, but was that too
forward? Did it matter? Yes, it did because they needed to talk.
She was sure he needed some sort of closure from her. She gave a
shake of her head to clear the self-doubt and worry before a
       smile pulled at her lips.
"I love you, Damon. I never stopped loving you from the day you
left to now. I didn't move on and I couldn't. Never in 8 years
worth of time did I stop wanting this." She gestured between
them before a sardonic chuckle escaped her. "For Torgar's sake I
got jealous over that spooky woman for having your attention
longer than I had it. And I've never wanted anyone more than
when you got distracted moments ago. I would be distracting you
now if we didn't have more to talk about..." She averted her
eyes and felt her face grow red at all she admitted, at how
easily the words fell from her lips, and how relieved she felt
to say them. How was it even after all this time he still had
such power over her emotions like this? It was dangerous...Or it
would be if it was anyone else but Damon that knew just how much
       she loved him.
"As for that plan, it is dangerous, Damon. Gabrielle is a part
of a radical group with support in this city that is just as
heretical. I know you met a woman of the church beneath her that
Farren and Melrose--members of my party--said was nuts and
disciple of Gabrielle. I know you're smart and brave for doing
this, but if they find out we even know each other they could
retaliate. It scares me to think what they'll do to you..." She
said since she had seen the worst humanity had to offer in her
travels, including a certain man that drew the worse out of
her...But he didn't deserve to put his neck on the line just so
she could maybe gain a leg up over Gabrielle. Those people would
hurt kind people like him to make some sort of statement that
Asena didn't want to even think about. She couldn't let herself
fall back into that place she found herself in the day she saw
Damon bloodied and beaten. She knew she couldn't handle it if
       something worse happened to him.
"Besides, I didn't even know you made it to Alessandria. But if
I had I would have sought you out and would have you by my side.
That is if there is even a side by the end of this. You're
risking yourself for something I royally screwed up tonight.
Torgar, I burned up a man's home. You saw the way the nobles
looked. Even Septimus of all people got upset. I'll be lucky if
the Whetherford's don't press charges and have me arrested." She
raised a hand to her hair, raking her fingers through the long
locks to ease some of her tension as she spoke. "That's the
longer way of saying I don't know that you would even want me
after all this. I don't even know if I'm still the Asena you
loved after all I've done tonight and during the time we were
apart." She said as she gazed at him briefly, emotions warring
in her mind between wanting him to hold her and wanting to push
him away for his own good.

By: DolittleMax Date: May 29, 2020, 12:28 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Damon listened to Asena's words with his boyish grin that now
echoed of how much he'd really grown since she had last seen
him. He was an eighteen year old boy, hardly a man when he'd set
off but now he was indeed a man and if he'd been only just able
to stand over Asena before; she all but looked petite compared
to him now. Blacksmithing as well as the occasional combat
classes he'd been taking, had bulked him up nicely and his
jawline indeed was much more defined, the stubble of a few days
not shaving still on his chin. So she did still feel all that
was between them. It was relief that flooded him as now his
heart wasn't as much on the line as he thought, and he relaxed a
little into the confidence he'd also acquired over the years.
"It is a dangerous plan, but it has been working very well over
the past months. I've made plenty of notes to give to you that
could help in the upcoming debates and once your position in the
Truce is secure, well, I won't have to be the mole anymore.
Trust me Asena... I'm am much less the naive boy who left you
those years ago. Being out on one's own trying to get a business
going can do that to you. As for your screw up this evening? You
hardly burnt down his home. The quick work of a lad from my
party and some maids had the curtain and things put out not long
after you'd left. Not much damage for a man as rich as he."
Her uncertainty about his feelings for her sent a pang through
his chest and his gaze softened as he finally allowed himself to
reach forward and cup her cheek in a rough hand, thumb stroking
       it softly.
"What I know of my Asena Valda is that she has a heart of gold
and a determination like nothing I've ever seen. All she does is
for the best of everyone, even at her own cost. Sure, she has a
temper-" he grinned a little "but I know that it flares up at
injustice and when people she loves is at threat- or when she's
       scared."
His hand moved to grip her shoulder as he looked at her
seriously, "I don't believe that Asena has changed. You'd never
convince me she wasn't still there."
He swallowed a little and felt that cheeky and conniving glint
seep into his eyes as he finally took a moment to appreciate
Asena fully, eyes wandering just a little.
"How do you like the house mmm? I may have missed a few details
that slipped my mind over the years. Oh! But there is one detail
       I didn't manage to miss-"
He moved to set aside her teacup and scoop her up, "I do recall
a particular request for a large bed 'for more fun' and seeing
that this bed isn't under Mariam's roof..."
He pressed his forehead to hers as he carried her through the
house, gently setting her on the edge of the bed.
"Care to test it out?~" his voice was husky as he pressed eager
lips to her throat, wrapping his arms around her before uniting
their lips in a passionate kiss. It had been so long since he'd
held her and tonight? He was going to make sure it was a reunion
she'd never forget. As they collapsed onto the bed together, he
felt a joyful chuckle escape his lips. Soon, soon she'd be his
       wife.

       Asena Valda
Location: Black Trout Inn, Marieve, Alessandria
       Accompanying: Melrose Mehgan ([member=2]Pyxie[/member])--> NA
Asena sat across from the others, absentmindedly stirring the
cream into her tea for what must have been longer than
necessary. Melrose had been going over the itinerary for the
debate, her talking points and the like that he and Septimus
agreed upon. It was all to help her succeed, all to help build
her case for election over Gabrielle and Malachi, and to make up
for her prior mistakes. These last few days had been hard fought
politicking and meeting with noble houses and members of the
guard to improve upon her mistakes already. While she already
paid the Whetherford's a substantial sum for repairs, she was
sure that they were loyal to Malachi...As Gabrielle predicted
most of the nobles seemed in his pocket and were adamantly
opposed to a commoner (Asena), taking a seat that required a
dignified candidate. Whatever that meant anymore...
In the meantime, as per her agreement with Gabrielle, she would
focus her efforts in trying to take down Malachi. She even
requested that Farren and Aidene look into the man, even if she
were sure they would be hard pressed to find much.
However, that meant convincing Damon that spying on Gabrielle
wasn't right and would only get him in trouble. After all,
Gabrielle mentioned assassins and blackmail in their talks the
other day. Now that she had confirmation from Gabrielle that she
wouldn't be actively against Asena at that moment. She
remembered their conversation and how confident Damon had been
in his spying. Then again, he was quite confident about quite a
bit during their talking and the fun the had testing out the
furniture. Asena bit her lip, heat running through her cheeks
and body at the memory of the night before. She could still feel
the bulk of his body as he held her and feel his lips against
her's. She could still see his smile on his face that reminded
her of their childhood and how he seemed so happy to have her
there. Just thoughts of him made her feel so much lighter, so
much happier, and even the world seemed so bright. Asena had
beeen in a lovely mood lately. Wraithus, she even agreed to tea
with Gabrielle. And all of it was because she had Damon back in
her life. It seemed as though everything in her world was coming
together. She would have her seat on the Truce, she would be
able to make a better world for her friends and the good people
of Erudi, and she would one day have a happy home and family
with Damon. In just 8 years, both she and Damon had met so many
of their goals and now they could finally meet the one they set
as young lovers to be together...
A tap to the table drew Asena from her thoughts to find her
uncle was giving her a suspicious look. It drew a blush from
Asena, who quickly gave Melrose an apologetic look. "I'm sorry.
My mind is getting away from me today. It may be nerves about
the debate." She said, however it was clear by her lack of eye
contact that Asena was lying. She was a terrible liar and most
knew that about her, including her Uncle. She gave a sigh,
feeling guilty about lying and instantly her expression eased
toward Melrose. "I'm sorry, Uncle, I just have a lot on my mind.
But I have somewhere to be. I promise it's nothing dangerous and
not with Gabrielle again. I'll be back tomorrow, in time to
practice more for the debate." She got to her feet and gave
Melrose a wink before moving along upstairs to get ready to see
Damon again tonight. She had written to let him know she was
stopping by, since she had to tell him about her talks with
Gabrielle and to tell him that she wanted him to leave
Gabrielle's party and join her own. What could go wrong with
that id she lived up to her promise she made to Gabrielle and
       made things right with Damon?

       Septimus Vianacelli
       Marieve, Alessandria: Black Trout Inn
       None -> Melrose Mehgan ([member=2]Pyxie[/member])
The door to the inn opened, and Septimus made his way inside. A
set of bound papers was tucked under one arm -- ostensibly, he
was here to discuss talking points and debate strategy with
Asena and the others. It seemed his candidate wasn't downstairs
at present, though her uncle was at the usual table. The man
made his way over to Melrose and smiled. "Hello, Sir. Is Asena
around? I was wanting to speak with her."
Officially, this was a strategy meeting if anyone asked. The
real reason, though, was that Septimus simply wished to see
Asena and speak with her. She had piqued his interest years ago
when she'd escorted him back to D'amourre Plots. When she had
approached him about running for the Truce, he had repaid the
favor she'd done him by helping fund her and becoming a
       political advisor.
Now, time spent with her was his favorite part of a day. He
hadn't said anything as of yet; it was important to stay
professional in a situation like this. But then they had flirted
some at the banquet -- or, he had flirted and she hadn't bridled
at the words -- and he had begun to wonder: could there be more
between them? Would she allow it? Perhaps not, but Septimus
       could hope.
Not that he would ask her now of all times! The debate was
upcoming, and Asena needed to be focused on that and that alone.
A dalliance, a play at romance with a jaded young politician
would not help her at all. Hence, the pretense of the papers he
set before Melrose. "Talking points," he explained. "Her goals
and ideals, what she hopes to gain and what the public would
gain from her." His eyes darted towards the stairs, in hopes
that he hadn't missed her leaving for some errand.

Melrose was just wrapping up paperwork for a new recruit sitting
at the front counter... after-all, he now helped check folks
into the inn and out for the duration of the candidacy to help
repay debts owed to the Black Trout innkeeper. Ever since the
Banquet, he had been scouring for new talent to bring on-board.
He hadn't seen Elissac since the Banquet.. my, he hadn't seen
Aidene either. Two recruits now gone of which he hadn't heard
from. Of where they had gone, he didn't know. This mixed with
the ramblings of Lady Valda who sat across from him and began to
ramble.. this only caused him to stare at her, then return to
his paperwork and catch her odd demeanor again. He set down his
pen, and leaned forward in an attempt to speak to her before
she, herself, spoke up. Satisfied from her answer, he nodded.
But for now he was simply finishing paperwork that Septimus had
relayed to the male. Melrose paused, and accepted the paperwork
with a nod to the male. He set them down, and then paused for a
second after he gathered a few thoughts.
He turned to face Septimus once more.. he had heard from
Genievieve lately a word about Septimus. A word that intrigued
him. Had he met her before? It was an interesting fact that he
hadn't known prior, but one he thought he might as well bring
up. He hadn't exchanged too many words with Septimus as of late,
regardless.. he scooted to clear room for the male, smiling
       underneath his mask.
"Do take a seat, Sir Vianacelli." After to which he had expected
him to oblige, and continued his conversation. "I have been told
by my employer, Miss Zhorogtei, that you have encountered her
before?" With that he paused, however, after noticing a strange
veiled figure who had been skulking around. He hadn't noticed
her before, but regardles it was a public inn, and one that
Asena had bought out to become a secondary home.. it was still a
public location, though Melrose had insisted that it be closed
to only thoe who followed Miss Valda's candidacy. He smiled once
more, and returned his attention to Septimus after shaking off
       the thought.
"Oh, and Miss Valda is upstairs and will return downstairs
momentarily." He smiled under his mask, though hoping for a
response in regards to Genievieve in this regard.

She had remained hidden.. a part of the crowd. A patron in the
inn... she had seen Damon. Yes, she had seem the traitorous fool
climbing the stairs with Asena to which she ignored any other
information. There had been rumors that Damon, indeed, had been
seeing her. Oh, how fortunate that Vanessa was proven right with
a smile graced on her lips. She stepped outside, where she
noticed Eudithe across the street in a local flower shop.. idly
chatting away with the local patrons and giving her a glance
over. She nodded, and with that.. Eudithe responded, and
disappeared into the crowd. It was time to fetch the Candidate
of Embra, herself... oh, what pleasant information she had to
abide by from this point when they were to track Damon down and
burn him to the crisp. What pleasure Eudithe would take with
       this punishment.
She took out a cigar, and lit it.. tossing the remnants right
after and rubbing it into the dirt below her boot as to not
arise too much suspicion. It was known for many to smoke
out-side to enjoy the cool breezes of Alessandria, so it was not
too out of place for her to do the same.
Regardless, she returned into the inn and took a place back into
her seat. From here she seemed to have caught the eye of a a
masked man of which she did not mind.. but it was dis-concerning
to catch his attention if only for a brief second. After-all, he
       was the Enigma.
She took a seat, and continued to drink from her wine. Now it
was only a matter of time...

Damon dunked his head in the bath, wetting his hair before
finally deciding to get out of his self-heated water. He'd been
at work nearly all morning making sure that everything was in
order and on track. He had two apprentices he'd rescued more or
less from the Emerald keep; a pair of twins that tended to only
speak to people they knew really well. Once he had ensured they
were on track and the furnace was properly lit- the twins were
siheli users and couldn't start it as quickly as he could with
his magis. After a few other errands in relation to his
business, he entrusted his shop to the twins for the day and
went home to freshen up before his meeting with Asena.
Even as he had walked home from work his steps were light and
quick as if he had no weight on his shoulders. Which in a sense
was true. Having Asena finally in his arms... and on his bed...
and in the kitchen- Nevermind! They had been together and picked
up as if the years apart were nothing, they only seemed to grow
them closer once they were finally together. Damon was on top of
the world and felt as if his life was all coming together. All
they had to do was wait out the election until she was put on
the Truce and then they could start the rest of their lives.
With a stretch, Damon got out of the bath and evaporated the
water from his skin and raked his hand through his curls to try
and put them in some sort of order. He
reached to beside the sink and grabbed the chain on which
Asena's coin hung. The leather had worn out long ago and now the
coin hung on the chain about his neck, a reassuring weight
       against his skin.
Not to dilly dally he hurried out to begin the small walk to the
Tavern Asena had been staying at. Moving through the alleys he
took a quieter way, wanting to be cautious about how public they
were. He was humming an old tavern tune when he rounded a
corner, eyes widening and his feet coming to a halt.

       Septimus Vianacelli
       Marieve, Allesandria: Black Trout Inn
       Accompanying Melrlose Meghan
Septimus took the offered seat, smiling at the man who kept
guardianship of their candidate. "Zhorogtei?" he asked in some
surprise. "That's a rather uncommon name, so I can only assume
that your... employer is the same woman who looked after me in
my adolescence. I haven't heard from her in... Gods, I don't
know how long it's been. How is she these days?" As eager as he
was to speak with Asena, hearing about Gen was a good
distraction. He hadn't seen her since he'd gotten an offer of
wealth and power from the Desdemona family.
He had taken the offer, left rather abruptly -- though he had
said good-bye and promised to see her again -- and was now
waiting for them to collect their payment on the debt he owed.
He wouldn't go back to Gen before then, in case the family was
watching him and decided that having a powerful magus involved
with one of their "Arcana" was inconvenient. He would not be
       responsible for Gen getting injured.
       Gabrielle Brighteye
       Marieve, Alessandria: Streets
       Accompanying Damon Roux, Eudithe
Gabrielle was leaning against a wall, tucked away from the
eyesight of most passers-by. Only someone coming down the alley
would see her and her chief enforcer lying in wait. As Damon
rounded the corner, Gabby's blue eyes sparkled with mirth.
"Damon, how fortunate that we ran into each other. What are the
odds of us bumping into each other on the street?" She
straightened up from the wall and stretched. She was not in her
usual attire, the red and orange and yellow dresses that looked
similar to a priestess' robes. Rather, she was wearing an
ordinary white shirt and a pair of brown trousers tucked into
high boots. A pair of knives sat on her belt.
"We have a bit of an emergency that we need to deal with, Damon.
You need to come with us to the bath house so we can discuss
it." She made a gesture for Eudithe to get behind the man. No
reason to let him try and weasel his way out of this.
