Gabby sighed and sipped at her tea before speaking again. "A
shame. Just remember that when Embra judges and finds you
lacking, you were offered a chance. Still, it is not my place on
this world to hold it against you." Yet, she added to herself.
Once she had a position of power and could move more freely for
the good of the church, the nonbelievers would be burned away.
Asena Valda was a Heli, but Embra's fires burned hotter than
others.
"Do forgive me for any misstep. As a priestess, one of my
primary duties afield is to guide the lost and unsure onto
Embra's path, that they may find a meaning in her glory. I did
not intend to offend you."

Asena’s eye twitched at the woman trying to threaten her with
this Embra’s wrath. As if she cared what Embra wanted. Embra
could go take a flying leap off a waterfall for all Asena cared.
She wasn’t one to be bought by thoughts of the wrath of a god or
goddess. As she must have assumed, by the way she quickly
redacted her statement with a...not quite apology.
“No offense truly taken. I don’t believe in your doctrine so it
has no bearing on me or my plans. While I’m sure you have many
willing to follow that torch blindly, I am not lost or unsure of
myself or the future of my time on the Truce.” She told
Gabrielle, as she now knew this woman’s intentions were only
conversion and spread of her religion.
“Anyways, Gabby, I believe I should return before my party comes
looking for me...” Or Damon believed that she stood him up that
night when they agreed to meet and she wasn’t ready on time.
“With our mutual truce and agreement out of the way, is there
anything else I can ease your mind on? I feel I’ve learned a
small deal from you but look forward to learning more by the
time of the debates.” She said, trying to be kind to the woman
since she had been somewhat cordial.

Gabby considered Asena for a moment, then smiled. She could ask
about Damon; it was clear that the two had some history. But,
no, she would burn that bridge when the time came. "No, Asena. I
think this concludes our business with each other for the time
being." She stood, smoothing the flowing dress she wore -- not
quite a robe, but cut similarly to her clerical vestments -- as
she did. She had paid the server in advance, in case she needed
to make a sudden exit. She offered a short curtsy to the other
Heli.
"I will see you at the debate. May the better woman win."
