By: Kimcora Date: August 26, 2020, 11:59 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Asena Valda
       Location: Alessandria, Marieve, Truce Embassy
       Accompanying: All you lovely people
Asena tossed Malachi a look that was briefly annoyed, but eased
with a wry smirk. He was trying to goad her and it was working.
But she was controlled at the moment and wouldn’t let him push
her further. “Don’t worry about my sensitivities, Lord Hythian.
Lord Vianacelli is here because I trust in his vision for the
future of Magis users and their safety. It’s a vision that you
seem wholly uneducated on. Such a shame. Let me enlighten
you...” She said cattily, her hackles raising at someone going
after a person she cared about. Asena wasn’t one to mince words
usually, but she had been scolded by Melrose enough that she
could come out the gate calling people names and threatening
them. You had to play smart with your words to truly affect
these people. “Magis use without controls and without guidance
is just asking for disaster. Plenty of well meaning individuals
make mistakes that often have dire consequences. Not because
they are evil in intent or cruel, but because of a lack of
education and control. I was one such child that grew up with an
ability I did not understand, nor have the ability to control.
However, I fortunately had a very caring support base that
tempered my abilities. Not every child in Liphilius had that
opportunity.” She said as she remembered Septimus’s story of how
he lost his family to a man who simply lost control. She also
thought of Damon and his inability to get his Magis to work
properly in his defense. “As my fellow candidate pointed out,
suppression leads to violence and mistakes occur. But blind
embracing of abilities or reliance on religion to police its
practice will not solve the issue. Instead, I fully support Lord
Vianacelli’s initiative and plans for schools dedicated to
training young Magis users to control their abilities.” She
gestured to Septimus as a few in the audience murmured. “While
some may argue that the College of Arcadia fulfills this
purpose, their premise of isolation and academia does not appeal
to the vast majority of everyday citizens. These schools would
address the stigma against Magis use, will implement
standardized and researched methods of Magis education, and
provide training to all children who may not have any other
outlet or support.” She then gave a small sigh, her head hanging
some at the thought of Turquemians. Those poor people were
abused and isolated in some places just because of their blood.
Their world was broken in places, but hopefully it could be
addressed with work and distancing Erudi from the trade of these
       people.
“As for the poor souls who have the Turquoil in their blood,
they are still vital citizens of Liphilius and deserve the same
rights we enjoy. However, they are often enslaved for their
blood in places like my homeland, Batestar. Some are ostracized
as dangerous to society. Their cruel treatment and slaughter in
these kingdoms must be eradicated by swift and harsh punishment
against their abusers. Furthermore, the views of their condition
in society must be improved through education as well. If we can
study ways to treat and support their condition further and work
alongside their communities, I believe we will come to a
positive change that may see an end to their volatile Magis
use.” She moved back a bit from the podium, mostly to allow more
questions to come in if further people would like to ask before
       the debate was finished.

       Konsole Hawe.
       Alessandria, Marieve: Truce Embassy.
       Accompanying Candidate Teams.
Shyly did Konsole scratch his scalp at the awkward silence now
offered between him and his coworker. He briskly yet quietly
sighed before deciding it was of no use.. though his train of
thought was quickly interrupted once he had noticed another
associate sit in between the two. My, my, how handsome he was.
Nonsense! No, perish the thought! Fortunately he wore his mask
so his blush was successfully hidden, but he was quick to pick
up the wink that was offered from the charming male, to which he
cleared his throat and glanced back over to the candidates.
He enjoyed how Lady Valda spoke. He could feel the determination
behind her words.. he could feel how she wanted the best for the
people around her. He, of-course, wasn't too sure on the other
two. But wasn't the man sitting next to him an informant? He
paused in his train of thought before glancing to the male again
next to him. What was his name again? He glimpsed down at his
lap before leaning toward the male, and whispering.
"Pardon me, but I do not recall being told your name..?" He
quietly asked. He knew of the party due to Melrose telling him
of the group, but did not know what faces to pin to what name.
He only knew for sure who Lady Valda, Septimus and Elissac were
due to seeing them face-to-face prior.

       Archibald Whetherford
       Alessandria, Marieve: Truce Embassy.
       Accompanying Candidate Teams.
The line of questioning had certainly taken an odd turn. Most
didn't discuss Magis privately, it seemed an odd play to bring
the subject out in the open like this. He wasn't sure exactly
what game Vianacelli was playing with a question like that. He
also wasn't sure what the candidates were playing at with their
answers. Brighteye's seemed the most tactful in the generality
of the statement. Many of the elite would accept a God fearing
response. Hythia, on the other hand, brought an answer that did
nothing more than stir the pot. The man knew well that the
nonacceptance and hiding of powers was a long standing and fear
ridden tradition in these lands and yet he openly supports the
idea of venturing further into exploration and
understanding...an interesting response and one he was sure many
of the elite here would not sympathize with. And then there was
Valda. Indeed, a talented tactician. Offer a solution that can
help to keep the issue underhand but also out of sight. She was
a tricky one to watch out for, indeed. He knew, however, that
his next question would leave the debate surely at Hythia's
       feet.
Archie rose from his seat to pose his question, his presence
silencing some of the disquieted muttering around him. "If I
may," He cleared his throat as he began. "Regarding foreign
relations, I know that many, including myself, are interested in
expanding trade with foreign lands and strengthening foreign
ties. What are your thoughts considering foreign relations?" He
sat down after his question was posed, his mind racing again
with thoughts of the missing girl and his business, which was
currently going through a rough spot. The question was meant to
be lengthier and contain more political jargon, something he was
sure at which Hythia would accelerate and the others would
struggle to respond to. As it was, he was in no fit mental state
to participate in the political game at the moment. As soon as
this was over he planned on going directly home and
communicating with any underworld and spy network he could find
       to discover her location.

       Gabrielle Brighteye
       Alessandria, Marieve: Truce Embassy
Gabrielle donned a wry smile at the latest question. "I think my
stance on foreign relations should be quite clear enough, don't
you?" A few chuckles from those in the know. Gabrielle
continued. "Seriously, though, I'm an emissary from the Flames
of Embra, the organization that rules over Uleplex, and I'm
running for a position here in Alessandria. Obviously, my home
country will always be important to me, and I would hope to
promote unity and cooperation between these two great kingdoms,
as well as the other nations of the world."
She could see Vianacelli flipping through his binder, clearly
looking for some counter to her reply. The smile remained on her
face, but inside she was ready to strangle the man. She calmed
considerably when he closed the binder, a content look on his
       face.

       Malachi Galanthius Hythia
       Location: Truce Embassy, Alessandria, Marieve
       Accompanying Asena Valda ([member=4]Kimcora[/member]) and
       Gabrielle Brighteyes ([member=3]unknownmercury[/member])
Malachi restrained from yawning; this questioning was going on
for so long. The people really didn’t care about all this,
they enjoyed the drama of the debates but really everyone would
have already made up their minds on who to vote for. Malachi
knew that prejudices would be formed long before the ballots
were filled and counted. This cat fight was more for the benefit
of the parties to try and divide each other, or weaken them. He
watched as Gabrielle stepped forward and gave her policy on
foreign relations. It was vague... very vague and showed a lack
of interest to build relationships between nation- at least in a
       diplomatic sense.
Standing by his spot on the platform his simply raised his voice
to answer, “As the current ruler of Phonax, and having
been ruler of Phonax for quite some time, I have already
established relations with much of the known world. The Hythian
company has already well established partners in which we
circulate commerce. My only advancement to our foreign relations
would be to suggest a stimulus plan in which the nobles inject
funds into the economy by buying shares in trades not only here
but in many nations. This would help the overall wealth of
everyone and encourage positive collaboration between
individuals. I would caution you against Miss Brighteye’s
more zealous intentions and remind you that as Nomadic Warrior,
it might not be taken so kindly by other rulers to have a War
Lord like Asena Valda do trade with them. That is all.”
He sat back down and watched the rest play out, interested in
how Asena would turn this for her good. She had no experience in
       international relations.

Thorin, though Gabby managed to keep a placid expression, could
sense the anger roiling within her at the proposed question. The
way her syllables were clear and clipped rather than her usual
sultry and seductive tone made it quite clear to him at least
that she had almost had enough weathering of idiotic
       questioning.
Her gaze settled on the Lord Viancelli and Thorin reached a hand
to clasp his chin as his own steady gaze rested on him.
What secrets did this man hold? Which ones would Thorin be able
to find and twist to make him step the f*ck off his darling
Gabby’s tail? He would see- though, the sight of another
member to their party slipping in the huddle to the side made
his piercing gaze move from Viancelli to the mystery man. He
held himself in a way that made Thorin sense a powerful
       opponent.
       Hmmmm, interesting...

       Farren Levit Waymaker
       Location: Truce Embassy, Alessandria, Marieve
He quirked a brow at Konsole’s question, looking at him
with piercing gaze as he assessed him for a moment.
“Most people don’t know my name until well,
it’s too late and they curse me by it or until it’s
late at night and they worship me by it” he gave a
flirtatious chuckle and leant back against the wall they were
near. He was being a tease for the fun of it; playing with this
guys obviously reserved nature. He was Melrose’s little
plaything to boss around. Farren wasn’t afraid of Melrose
but hated how the man seemed to grab onto an issue like a feral
dog until they’d all had enough of it. Best not to rouse
the old mans sensitivities by being too playful.
“I’m Farren. Best to note that down for
       later~”
He resumed listening to the debate, watching as Asena actually
did quite well considering the recent events and little time she
had to prepare for anything. Farren has got the general sense
that the people were actually in her favour. Sure the nobles
seemed to have more influence because of their status and power,
but there were more middle and lower class in society that would
       outnumber them.

       Asena Valda
       Location: Truce Embassy, Alessandria
       Accompanying: all you lovely people
Asena mulled over the answers, unsure of really what to say.
Their answers weren’t bad, but they weren’t perfect. Not every
nation wanted ties to Embra, especially as a religious
organization. She knew plenty of Batestarians that would die
before they bowed to anyone but the earth and gods of old. Not
to mention Phonax had some issues with places like Glapera and
their monopoly over world trade was dangerously authoritarian.
Intimidation and biased practices wasn’t the way to win the
       support of other nations.
Asena saw Septimus flipping through his binder, wondering if he
was trying to find something to help her respond. While she
appreciated it, she knew she could respond for herself with all
the preparation they worked with her on. When Malachi dared to
call her a warlord, a chuckle actually bubbled from Asena. Oh,
he was so misguided. They wanted to paint her as some violent
monarch because they had no other brush to paint her with.
“Actually, the core beliefs of the the Nomadic Warriors is based
in promoting justice and protection to all nations within their
reach. They have a presence in most nations such as Iaquosia,
Batestar, Alessandria, and even in Uleplex.” She said before
then gesturing to her audience. “Throughout the world, they are
known as men and women of honor that have dedicated their lives
to traveling the world in service to Liphilius and the safety of
all. Not only are some renowned heroes, but also mighty
tacticians and people of all creed, race, and gender, which
breaks through concern of allying themselves to any one nation.
That sort of openness and power carries weight to all nations
who need security before they can promote trade and create a
flourishing economy. After all, everyone will need stability and
security before they would dare invest beyond their own nation.”
She remembered discussing such with Melrose once. “With the help
of my ties to the Nomadic Warriors, I could invest in the
security of our nation and the safety of other nations by
attending to their dangers and concerns. Then more trade
opportunities will be available through forged stronger
partnerships.” She gave a small bow of her head to the audience.

A blush crept along his cheeks once he met eye contact with the
seductive man. He felt a wave of excitement brush down his spine
before he turned away and awkwardly stared ahead. What was this
strange feeling he was getting with this man?! He just met him,
after-all, but was so charming. Meghan had warned him about a
couple of fellows who were part of Lady Valda's cabinet, and
names in addition.. but Hawe had forgotten a good few of them
because he did not notate them down. Curses for him since he was
known for his exemplary memory. He closed his eyes and quietly
sighed, taking a deep breath and attempting to regain his
composure.. and crossing one leg over the other for obvious
       reasons.
Meanwhile Meghan glanced over to Hawe, noticing how he had begun
to act flustered. Hawe locked eyes with Meghan who shook quietly
(and subtly) shook his head. This must have been one of the
dangerous individuals that Meghan did not fully trust to work
under Lady Valda. He straightened his posture before scooting
further back to the seat. He had kept forgetting he was in front
of a large audience who may have had wandering eyes.

"I believe that's all the time we had allocated for today,"
Gabby said after Asena finished answering the final question.
"Thank you all for coming out today and hearing us speak. May
everyone have a blessed day and Embra watch over and guide us
       all..."
       -==One Month Later==-
Gabby sat in the private room of the sauna. Despite her normal
calm demeanor, she was now fidgeting, crossing and uncrossing
her legs and arms or picking at the cuticle of a nail. She was
nervous. This day marked her rise to glory...
Or her fall from grace. She reached out and put a hand on
Thorin's, gripping it tightly. "Thorin, be a dear and have
somebody go for refreshments, won't you?" Thorin had been by her
side since the debate. A devout member of the church who was
more than willing to serve Gabrielle in whatever ways she asked
of him. She could only reason that Embra personally had sent him
to her side so that she would have someone who understood as she
did that the world needed to be purged.

Today was the day. Septimus ran his fingers along the neatly
trimmed edge of his beard, humming softly. After the debate, his
days had been so busy -- interviewing with higher-ranked nobles,
appearing with Asena at charity events, and the like -- that
he'd hardly had time to bathe let alone properly shave.
He looked across the breakfast table and smiled. There sat
Asena, resplendent as always. Lalasa had insisted on stepping
down as head maid -- a position which Septimus still had yet to
fill again -- and take up the job as Asena's personal maid.
Septimus insisted on paying the woman extra, even though going
from running a household to managing one woman's cleaning and
care was very much a demotion.
He reached across the table and gently cupped Asena's hand in
his, bringing it briefly to his lips. "Are you ready, my dear?
The news should be arriving before too much longer."

Malachi waited silently, much to the concern of his fellow party
members. When he was silent, something was most definitely
brewing. Various campaigns and public appearances had absorbed
his time between the debate and today; the announcement...
He had tried his very hardest to charm his way to as many people
as he could; remembering names, going to dinner with people,
dancing and chatting with the ladies. It was exhausting to
always be this kind of person, but he needed to maintain it at
least until he was announced as the new Truce member. For now
though, as he waited in his home for the message, he rested his
elbow on the arm of the chair and his chin on his fist as he
       stared boredly at his surroundings.
His wife was still missing. Nothing had been uncovered yet.

Thorin sat by Gabby's side as usual and remained quiet. He
really only spoke to her in his usual friendly manner when they
were alone. After all, it was the only way he could give her
cheek without having to openly discipline him for contempt of a
member higher in the Flames. He knew she put up with his wit and
cheekiness because she was fond of him. That was partially the
reason for the Church sending him; so she had an ally after such
a betrayal in her party. It would seem he couldn't have arrived
at a better time, she was not quite herself at the moment. The
nervous habits an oddity for the woman.
As she gently squeezed his hand, he looked to her and gave a nod
at her request for drinks. He stood and moved to leave, but on
his way he brushed her hair behind her ear so he could whisper
       to her.
"Be strong Fireheart~ You'll set the world aflame with the
message of Embra regardless of if you gain the position in the
       Truce"
With that he left to get drinks.

The morning sun filtered upon the table from the window Asena
liked the most on the property. The view of the yard and the
lake always made her feel calmer when her nerves took over.
However, lately that view had done little to calm her. The
impending election had her on edge, or so she believed by how
she felt in the week leading up to it. Despite being busy almost
every other day in preparation, in the quiet moments Asena
couldn’t keep her mind off of the election. It made it hard to
sleep, made her feel a bit nauseous at times, and even made her
a bit dizzy and tired. It made prepping and preening for these
charity events and meetings quite difficult. However, a new dear
friend Lalasa was helping in that regard.
As of late, she thankfully had Lalasa to confide in and help
keep her looking proper and put together. She adored her input
on dress and how she helped Asena fine tune her etiquette in
these Alessandrian courts. She came to see her as a confidant
and had been thrilled when she wanted to work with her
exclusively. Well, despite the woman’s parental lecturing at
times. They both agreed that Asena needed to stay away from all
the sweets she had been eating to help with the stress. They
were starting to notice her bodices were getting a bit tighter
than Asena would prefer. So she picked at her breakfast of high
protein vegetables and eggs with a lack of appetite brought on
by her thoughts. And perhaps her mourning the lack of cheese and
       other yummy starchy goodness.
Her thoughts left her healthy breakfast to the day ahead of her.
She reminisced on the year that led up to this very moment, the
final calm before the storm as it were. Would she be the next
council member on the Truce? Or would she fail and all her
party’s hard work be for nothing? The sheer chance of it all was
eating at Asena to the point she wondered if she might implode
       from nerves.
Septimus, of course, had been the biggest help in it all. She
felt so complete when she was in his arms and he always had the
right dose of reality to keep her grounded. Not to mention he
seemed to always know what to say to calm her. He was so smart
and good with his words, it honestly impressed her every time
she got to see him in action at an event they attended. He just
exuded this caring and reliable nature for her that made her
usual busy body self want to sit still and just absorb his
affection. Even now, the sound of his humming was a balm to the
nervous energy that welled inside her. She loved him for being
the steady one between them and making a home for her here. For
stirring that part of her heart that she thought was broken and
withered after losing Damon. Torgar, she was beginning to
       believe she truly loved him.
The kiss to her hand drew a smile to Asena, drawing her eyes to
the man who now seemed to hold her thoughts. The words were
easy, not full of nervous energy and expectation. That alone
made her let out a sigh to release some of that pent up energy.
“As ready as I’ll ever be. I wish they could deliberate quicker,
for the sake of my nerves.” She told him with a casual shrug, to
perhaps release some of that tension in her shoulders. “I wonder
if the others are this nervous...” She muttered to herself
before she took his hand gently, enjoying the contact and
wanting it at the moment. Her green eyes traced his face,
admiring the facial hair there. It was new, but she rather liked
it since he kept it well cared for. It was not like the wild
mountain man beards of Batestar that made the men look like
grizzlies rather than people. “Septimus...” She began, her
fingers lacing with his. “No matter what happens with this
election...thank you. I know I owe the others that thanks too,
but you especially. I’m so happy that I get to see this through
and what comes next together.” She gave his hand a squeeze
before looking to the window again, her fears falling into
       minimal echoes in her mind.
