As Corentin finished delivering his instructions, Shimmer simply
nodded, pulled her hood up and began to make her way into the
mansion, gently and discreetly touching any who passed her by,
draining a little of their energy to charge herself up.
She was pretty sure this was going to a largely boring affair,
but what Corentin had said about "showing the owner of the
mansion our gratitude" made her slightly giddy. It had been too
long since she got to have a little fun...
But, before she could let loose on the poor bastard, she had to
make it through the grueling past-time of putting on a show for
the mindless sheep. Little did they know that the real show was
going down behind closed doors.

Corentin gestured in shock as his star questioned him. He knew
her concerns but his focus was what his family asked Of him. He
must kidnap this Luna, she was an important chip to have in the
table with this Election business going on. " Ahhh well I
suppose you need some education, My how my star shines so
dimly," he says moving dramatically. "First this isn't just a
job for the troupe but a request from my family to the guild and
this luna is an interesting individual, she might work out as a
new member" he starting to get off-topic shaking his head a bit
before slapping the side of his head with both hands " Second "
he raises his hand with two fingers " wealthy family equals

When shimmer nodded he felt sorry for the man. She wasn't one

Septimus
Location: Whetherford Mansion Ballroom
Accompnaying: Asena Valda, Melrose Mehgan
Septimus was just about to reply to Asena when Melrose arrived.
Septimus looked the man over and grinned a bit. "Not bad," he
commented. He was turning back towards the crowd when Asena
suddenly gasped something and stepped towards him. He frowned
and put a hand gently on her back.
"What is it?" he asked, eyes scanning the room sharply to try
and determine what had startled her. He saw nothing out of the
ordinary, though he did see the young woman in red walking their
way with her entourage. Oh, this was not good. Whatever had
happened to Asena, Gabrielle Brighteye seemed intent on catching
her on her back foot.
-----
Gabrielle Brighteye
Location: Whetherford Manor Ballroom
Accompanying: Eir'Asa Aluanas, Aphera Evermore -> Asena Valda,
Septimus Vianacelli, Melrose Mehgan
Gabrielle smiled softly as she led the procession towards her
opponent. Whatever Damon Roux's friend had done, the shock on
Asena Valda's face had indicated that it was time to make her
opening move.
"Miss Valda," Gabby said with a smile on her lips. "How lovely
to finally meet you." She swept an elegant curtsy -- just the
right bob towards an equal, not a little bit more. "I am
Gabrielle Brighteye. This is my political adviser, Eir'Asa
Aluanas, and my guard, Aphera Evermore."
To her surprise, the tall dark-skinned man next to Valda swept a
bow to her and spoke. "This is, of course, Lady
Asena Valda. I am one of her advisers, Septimus Vianacelli."
"A pleasure," Gabrielle replied to him, though her
eyes stayed on Asena. "Miss Valda, do you have a moment to
speak, candidate to candidate?"
-----
[b]Diandra Desdemona
Location: Whetherford Manor, Upper Floor
Company: None
Silently, the harlequin slipped through the halls of the upper
floor. There were plenty of spare guest rooms on this floor, but
they were sadly bereft of anything worth taking. What she needed
to find she felt would not be on this floor, but the floor
above. She needed to find the family's quarters, where they
would keep valuables: jewelry, art pieces, coin purses, and the
like. She came around the corner of the hall that led to the
stairs and immediately jerked back to hug against the wall.
Carefully, she peered around the corner. Coming around the bend
near the stairs was a pair of servants. She didn't know if they
were pulling duty up here or were sneaking off for an illicit
rendezvous or what.It didn't matter. She scooted towards the
nearest room to try and duck inside before being seen. It simply
wouldn't do to be caught before the show had even started
downstairs.

Damien Malneux
Location: Whetherford Mansion Ballroom
Accompanying: Asena Valda, Gabrielle Brighteye
A new face enters the ballroom; one that none, spare Malachi and
Asena, had seen before. Damien Malneux, mercenary, has made
himself known. Clad in expensive, silky white tunic, with a
jacket of fine black cloth, it can be seen he takes care of his
appearance well. Clean shaven, with a messy undercut of jet
black hair. Its very wavy, styled for the evening. He adjusts
his collar, which he's decided to button up, mostly, leaving a
little bit of skin showing. His entrance wouldn't go unnoticed,
as he makes his way towards Malachi. Its odd, he dresses like a
rich man, but carries himself like a young man in his prime. Not
an inaccurate description, on both ends, but still, a look not
seen often. He makes his way towards Asena at a leisurely pace.
On his way, he reaches out and snags a passing flute of some
alcoholic spirit, using only 2 fingers to pluck it out of
someone's loose grasp. He sips it, thoroughly delighted to be at
the banquet. It wasn't often work beckoned him to join the upper
class, as disgustingly blind as they were to everything beside
their silver inlaid floors. It was very enjoyable, for him, at
least. Approaching the group at last, he speaks
"its Brighteye, looking dashing as ever, and could it be? Miss
Valda, after all these quiet years."
He dips his head slightly, to plant a chaste kiss upon her hand,
in a proper manner.
"I never thought i would see you after our little business
proposition, nor hear your irritating undertone"
He says with a small smile and wink of mischief. Sipping from
his stolen drink, he turns to face the group.
"We met a few years ago, had some fun of our own, and parted
ways. How you've grown since then! Not in height, of course, but
some things never change. Haver you tried this liquor? Its
spectacular! I insist on having a round with such good company.
Like i say, life is for the living!"
He's putting on a show, almost, playing into the personality
adopted for the evening. It was expected he would
be a good guest, enjoy himself, make people feel at ease.
Comfortable, friendly people were easier to milk for all they
were worth. Even better inebriated.

Archibald Whetherford
Whetherford Mansion Ballroom
Accompanying: Freida Vawne de Whitheres
Archie nodded, still smiling at Freida. She was, as always, an
accommodating woman. He wasn't sure if that was simply due to
the past they had shared or their friendship that seemed to run
strong regardless of time but he was happy to have her as an
ever present companion. With her present and running things he
was positive nothing could possibly go wrong at this event. He
opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by a particular
servant appearing soundlessly at his elbow. "Apologies, sir."
The man spoke softly but Archie was sure Freida's keen ears
would likely pick up on the hushed conversation. Not that he
minded. She was likely already aware of all the pies he had his
fingers in these days. "The shipment has arrived and we have a
few buyers waiting patiently for your presence."
Archie sighed and made a waving gesture towards the servant who
made his silent departure. "As you can see, my dear, duty calls.
It is rather unfortunate but I can not turn down this deal, you
understand?" He took a long sip of his wine pulled a small
folded parchment from one of his pockets. "The schedule is
rather simple and there should be some performers showing up
after a while. I don't know why they didn't come early but I
suppose surprise is part of their show." He handed her the
parchment with all the basic details of the event laid out on
it. "If anything goes wrong call for Geordie. He will take care
of everything for you. Again, I hate to leave you so suddenly.
Please, do enjoy the rest of the party. I should return before
the evening is out."

Reginald Mercy Whetherford
Whetherford Mansion Ballroom
Accompanying: Whitheres Servant Alycianna, Whitheres Servant
Dimitri
Reginald licked his lips as the pair before him spoke. An odd
habit of his that he was desperately trying to break to no
avail. Perhaps it was a side effect of the drug he had taken
earlier? He would have to look into correcting that. The young
lady seemed to be well versed in traversing around nobles. That
was good. Word games were common and she would do nicely, it
seemed. The other one...he seemed more direct although still
polite. He was someone that Reggie wouldn't mind playing with
more on a different occasion. For a night of noble frivolity
such as this a lady who knew how to wield a silver tongue seemed
like a more appropriate play thing. Perhaps by the end of the
night he would be able to convince her that he was worthy
company. Now it was time to play the game of figuring out how to
win the heart, at least for the evening, of the young lady. But
first, more alcohol.
Taking a step backwards towards a nearby table, Reggie picked up
three glasses and offered two to the pair before him, keeping
one glass to himself. "I'm sure you both wouldn't begrudge me
the pleasure of sharing a drink?" He smiled at them, too white
teeth now on full display. "Of course, I understand if you have
other duties to attend to but it only seems right that we should
offer a brief and private toast to the candidates? They are the
reason this party is being thrown, after all, and we might as
well offer them thanks. It isn't every day I get to meet such
beautiful people, after all." He said this last bit with a wink
at Alycianna. If the flirting tactic didn't work he would change
his methods. For now, why not start with the basics? Besides,
this provided a wonderful opportunity to figure out how best to
fulfill his father's wishes and get close to that candidate he
had so much interest in. Malachi, was it? The name was hardly
important at the moment. First he had to figure out how to
approach the man. He could figure out the rest from there.
----------------------------------------------------------------
-------------
Aphera Evermore
Location: Whetherford Mansion Ballroom
Company: Gabrielle Brighteye
Aphera stared blankly at a large flower display as they walked
further into the ballroom. It seemed so vast, almost as if an
entire forest were cut down to make room for this one spot.
"Hello, little ones." She whispered almost soundlessly as they
passed the large structure, all organized and arranged to look
like a large bird about to take flight. It didn't make sense to
arrange flowers to look like a bird. Flowers couldn't fly. But
she thought to keep that bit of knowledge to herself. Perhaps
whoever had made this arrangement didn't know that flowers
couldn't fly and she would be mortified if she accidentally
insulted the host in any way. She reached out one long finger
and bushed the tops of a few smaller buds. It was strange. She
didn't know young flora could be so quiet. They would usually
gossip among themselves but these seemed to be frozen in fear.
As if they couldn't speak at all.
Frowning and keeping her eyes downcast so as not to accidentally
look anyone in the eyes, she continued to follow her mistress.
The easiest way to get pulled into fowl magic was to look
someone in the eye and she didn't want to be turned into a
puppet. Therefor, she would look at peoples bodies and feet to
determine movement and avoid eye contact. That way she could
better protect her mistress. There seemed to be something of a
crowd around where her mistress had decided to go. With so many
conversations going on at once she couldn't quite be sure what
anyone was talking about. Crowds were so confusing. Remaining
behind her mistress and bowing slightly at the mention of her
name, she continued to think about the silence of the flowers
behind her. "Something is amiss..." She muttered to herself,
quietly enough she was sure it would bother no one else.
"Something bad will happen this evening...or perhaps it is only
someone bad is in this room...Oh, I do hope everything will be
alright." Her hand found the hilt of her sword and she idly
stroked the hilt, the soft leather bringing some comfort as she
continued to look at the array of various feet on the floor.

([member=6]MISSimissyou[/member]) -> Hydrus Luka de Whitheres.
She could only stifle a giggle in his
direction as he spoke. Once more she was to run off to complete
whatever chores he had to do. She admired the dedication the man
heeded to his duties. Of-course, given their strict upbringing
-- though in different households yet one-in-the-same experience
-- she had shared her dedication to her own craft which only
likewise strengthened the lengthy friendship between the two.
"Ah, do not fret hon." She raised her wine glass in a toast with
her other palm gladly accepting the parchment given to her,
"Geordie shall bare my word if need be."
With his dismissal, she now needed to find herself a seat.. so
she spotted her son Hydrus in his lonesome, to which she
approached. Hydrus was aloof in his own world, and as such
failed to provide a seat for his mother. She cleared her
throat.. no response. So she cleared it again and Hydrus
irritatingly glimpsed from his book to his mother with a frown.
"Aye?"
"Hydrus, cher.. me pourrait saisir une chaise?" She asked.
Hydrus rolled his eyes. Standing, he motioned to his chair to
his mother. "Prenez-le, alors."
Freida smiled, and of-course took up her sons' gratuity. She
took a seat, and held out her drink to which her son took this
glass; and chugged the wine himself. Offhandedly setting the
glass down on the nearest surface.. he grabbed himself a seat
and sat next to his mother; once again opening his book and
reading it.
Freida peered over at her son with the same devious smile before
unfolding her parchment..
"Hydrus, dear.. mind grabbing me a seat?" - "Hydrus, cher.. me
pourrait saisir une chaise?"
"Take it, then." - "Prenez-le, alors."

Alycianna's expression grayed at the thought
of being alone with the nobleman. She was caught off-guard with
the sudden intrusion and interest in her humble attire. How
could such the male, who noticeably kept licking his lips, hold
such interest to the servant? She was but a servant, and even
though she had.. plans, she did not believe this constituted her
being approached in such the erogenous manner.
She could feel a sense of anger begin to raise from her,
however; and she tamed this fire with a well feigned smile. She
still had her tray -- albeit now empty -- held by one palm to
which she politely grasped the drink offered to her and spared
an irritated sly glare in her brothers' direction as she swished
the alcohol in a circle.
She had made sure to keep a close eye on the elf. He was
handsome and appeared clean according to the hue of his teeth..
but she still sensed something awkward that made her a little
uncomfortable around the male.
Her brother was a man, after-all.. she was just.. going to let
him speak on her behalf. This, of-course, assuming much
brotherly love to be given by Dimitri. She was unsure of how to
react, and as stated previously, was holistically caught
off-guard.

Whetherford Mansion Ballroom
Accompanying Malachi Gelathius Hythian
([member=1]DolittleMax[/member]), Nesyrn Zoya
([member=7]Amibubbles[/member])
Idly had she continued to adore the
decorations that the Whetherford lineage had set up. It was such
a beautiful event, and the array of fashion displayed by various
individuals including other candidates' had admittedly humbled
the noblewoman.
Her aloof attitude continued once she felt a playful pressure
against her throat. An indifferently blank expression stained
her features as she remained still. It was quite the vulnerable
spot that her betrothed had exclusive access to.. she closed her
eyes as he nuzzled her then once more allowed her irises to see
the light of day. She was unsure of his strategy and why he had
shown such.. outwardly indecent affection. But he had made it
clear more than the necessary times that he was her husband. To
have, and to hold..
Once he had returned to his erect posture, her gaze wandered to
the floor as her mothers' name was brought up. Especially after
her.. prediction of her eldest brothers' death; her relationship
with her family -- especially Freida and her brother, Hydrus --
inevitably became irreversibly scorned. She had kept silent and
would continue to do so; knowing the reasoning behind this.
"Tis' quite fine, my love." She responded, "let's not allow our
familial grievances to obscure your image." She glanced behind
her shoulder at her bodyguard to check on her.. she knew the
bodyguard also shared a disdain for Malachi. She had kept her
opinion silent, as per usual.. though she knew the
consequences... the association by omission.
She kept silent and examined the fellow candidates. She offered
a polite smile to whoever approached Malachi; as she continued
to train herself to stay silent until spoken to. However, she
could not stop herself from feeling a strange familiarity with
the lady of fire.. Asena Valda, even from afar. She had also
noticed Bryer with the drake.. to which her smile quickly faded.
She looked away once more. She could only feel a tug at her
heart-strings..

Well, the party has certainly
gotten started. Melrose could only grin at Asena's response to
which he endlessly appreciated her childhood charm. She had
certainly become a spotlight of sorts, however.. he raised an
eyebrow at the request of Gabrielle Brighteye to speak to Asena
privately. He also had noticed the younger male, Bryer, eyeing
him once more. He felt an awkward twitch at the corner of lips.
What was this boy wanting?
He examined each of the party members.. and his eyes then
settled on the un-dead looking woman. A woman of Hexed bearing?
He assumed. She looked.. decrepit. Such the appearance only
alarmed the dweller to which his thumb, tucked behind his back
with the rest of his hand, would tap against his arm. She made
the dweller uneasy, and thus decided to keep a keen eye on the
woman.
Then came a stranger who so joyously seemingly approached Asena
with such peculiar expression. Even his scent wreathed of
peculiarities. What a lovely crowd this was going to be.
Regardless, he kept silent with his arms held behind his back as
per was his usual stature.

Gabrielle Brighteye and Septimus Vianacelli (@unkownmercury),
Damon Roux ([member=1]DolittleMax[/member]), Lei’Dasia
Oathkeeper (@DolittleAmi), Melrose Meghan
([member=2]Pyxie[/member]), Damien Malneux (@JLevitt)
Shock was the least of the emotions that filled Asena at having
some strange woman’s voice buzzing around in her mind...Using
the nickname Damon gave her...Speaking the words she wanted to
hear from him for almost 8 years now. Insecure, vulnerable,
livid and exploited were just a few of the feelings that flooded
her at the moment. How dare this woman try to use her love for
Damon to rattle her. This had to be a ploy by one of the
candidates to shake her resolve, to manipulate her by using
Damon. She wouldn’t show them it was working and quickly hid her
emotions behind a strong mask. Was he working for a candidate?
Was he being held there against his will? No...he looked so calm
and sure of himself...So was this invitation to meet true or was
it all a farce?
This invitation tempted her more than she liked to admit.
Hearing about the house, with the pond and the sunflowers, the
home near the guild house that they talked about when they were
just naive young adults back home...It filled her with an
optimism and hope that she hadn’t felt in a very long time. It
was a chance to see him and understand what the hell he was
doing there. A chance to catch up after so many years of
waiting. She knew it could be a trap, but was assured by the
thought she could destroy anyone that dared to manipulate
her...But she couldn’t pass up this opportunity, not with the
implicit trust she put in Damon.
‘Tell him I’ll be there after the banquet…And know that I will
find you if this is some sick little game you're playing or a
trap.’ She thought, knowing the woman could still hear her
thoughts. The touch to her back woke Asena from her thoughts,
her eyes going to Septimus with a tense look.
“The woman over there. The one in black... She’s been speaking
in my mind. She’s stopped for now, but be careful around her.”
She told Septimus barely above a whisper, trusting him enough
with that information but not the contents of the conversation.
That was between her and Damon.
When Farren spoke up, Asena passed him a glance that was more
put together than before. He felt Malachi was the party to start
with...Then that’s where they would head. “Then to the
politician’s party we go. But first, a drink.” She said as she
hailed a nearby servant and plucked a drink from his tray, not
caring what she had. She needed something to calm her nerves,
which were obviously still frayed from that mental conversation
she had.
With Farren, Melrose, and Septimus in her entourage, Asena made
her way towards Lord Hythian. She was hardly intimidated by him
and knew she could hold her own. Not to mention she had Farren
and Septimus there to support her and Melrose to keep her from
socking him in the jaw if he tried anything. However, she had
just entered Malachi’s space when suddenly Gabrielle Brighteye
came into her space. She was caught off guard and it was obvious
she hadn’t recovered quite yet. She eyed the group in front of
her and gave them all a pleasant smile despite her brain having
to play catch up. She caught the slight dig by calling her ‘Miss
Valda’ instead of ‘Lady’, but that hardly offended her...She was
more concerned with why was Gabrielle so casually approaching
her and not Malachi? Did she perhaps feel more comfortable
approaching the other woman in the group?
Thankfully, Septimus spoke up, seemingly able to read Asena’s
discomfort and the fact she needed a moment to regroup. A
certain gratefulness for her friend’s quick thinking filled her
as she took in a deep breath and let her burdens go. She was
Asena-fricking-Valda and she had this.
“Ah Lady Gabrielle Brighteye, it's nice to finally meet you.”
She said with a curtsy, expression revealing her usual poise and
pride. At the offer to speak together, Asena gave a quick nod to
accept the offer of a conversation. “Yes, I would appreciate
conversation with a fellow--” However, Asena’s back went rigid
when a confident, airing on cocky voice spoke her name from very
nearby.
Asena turned to find Damien Malneux there, her lips pulling into
a tight smile despite her eyes revealing she was baffled to see
him of all people there. As he dipped into a bow to kiss her
hand, Asena fought the urge to roll her eyes. My, hadn’t he
become the charming socialite? It was quite different from the
standoffish man she met in Lytherwood only a few years ago.
Well, perhaps he was having to play a part like she was
tonight...Obviously for Malachi’s camp...
His little digs made her expression tighten and her temper
spark, him no doubt feeling her hand starting to heat up as he
dropped her hand.
Now, who was the irritating one here? She felt her hand
tightening on her glass, eyes narrowing ever so slightly as he
went into commenting on her height. Oh if she were a lesser
woman and not in heels she would have put him in his place. But,
she just accepted that this was Damien’s way of showing
familiarity. Perhaps that was better than his previous distance
he showed her in the past?
His comments on their fun made her ease as a chuckle came to
her lips.
“Well, well Mister Damien Malneux. How lovely to see you again.
I had thought our time in Lytherwood would have been the last
you graced my presence.” She said with light humor creeping into
her tone. “Especially after celebrating our victory over a
basilisk... I’m glad to see you’ve found a use for that silver
tongue and terrible humor of yours in serving Lord Hythian…” She
stated, trying to keep the clippedness from her tone as she
showed him her glass to show she was already covered on that
front.

on Malachi again. Fury rose again, but he knew better than to
let it get out of hand. Gabrielle needed him to have a level
head and lashing out against Malachi wouldn’t earn him anything…
When Bryer leaned in to ask teasingly who he should follow, Eir
pursed his lips and tried to think of who he should focus his
efforts on. Well, he could send Bryer to deal with Malachi’s
party but they all knew he was an ally of Eir’s. So that left
Valda’s party who they had limited information on… “Perhaps
indulge your interest. We have little on Valda’s advisor Mehgan
and ally Waymaker. She also may let her guard down around you.”
He stated though couldn’t help the anger that leaked into his
tone. Thankfully, he felt Bryer’s touch to his shoulder as he
led Eir to speak instead with Damon who was there with his
friend. This strange woman that he immediately pinged on as
hexed and had been for quite some time. What was Damon Roux
doing with this woman? He didn’t seem the type to dabble in dark
Magis, let alone befriend the undead. But then again, he didn’t
know Damon all that well…
Bryer was charming as usual, but Eir watched the woman very
carefully as Bryer kissed her hand. Hexed people didn’t think
the same way that they did nor had the same morals...He wouldn’t
judge this woman completely, but he also wouldn’t trust her with
anything more than a brief alliance for the sake of Gabrielle’s
victory.
He was eyeing her when she called Bryer a wolf in sheep’s
clothing’, something that briefly ruffled Eir’s feathers. Bryer
was a kind hearted young man with power that he worked very hard
to control. Not some evil person with hidden intentions…
Damon apologized for Lei’s comment, but his odd pause after made
Eir glance at Bryer and then back at Damon as if to confirm this
was strange. At mention of needing a drink, Eir gave a chuckle
before offering a smile. “Well, at least the Whetherford family
is known for their alcohol, so you came to the right party for
it.” Eir stated before he did bow his head some to the hexed
woman. “I appreciate your aid, madam. However, you intend to
help our chances here, I wish you and Sir Roux the utmost luck.”
The attention shifted from the pair when Gabrielle made a B-Line
for Asena. Aphera followed obediently and Eir knew he needed to
follow along to help her field this situation.
He heard Aphera’s comment and gave her a softer look. “Hopefully
your feeling isn’t directed on our end. We need everything to go
as planned for us. The others...not so much.” He said to the
woman, hoping she was okay even if she was odd.
He trailed behind her, even if he was feeling on edge with being
so close to Malachi and subsequently Luna. He ignored the pair
and instead focused on the way Asena seemed standoffish as she
stood by this group of advisers. He could list them, but found
the only ones who spoke were Melrose Meghan and Septimus
Vianacelli. Septimus gave Asena a chance to recover as she
seemed a bit uncertain. What was throwing the woman off, he
wondered.
"Greetings, Lord Vainacelli, I've heard your name pass around
friends from D’amourre Plots. All positive words, of course, so
it is a true pleasure to finally place a face with a name." Eir
stated since he was one of the only ones in Asena's party that
had a more public image.
However, despite his ladies attempts to get the woman’s
attention for a talk, a man swaggered in, from Malachi’s party
no less. However, he tried to steer the attention of Asena away
from Lady Gabrielle and Eir wouldn’t put up with that. “Ah you
work for Lord Hythian? I should have been able to tell with your
enthusiasm. And you are a former ally of Lady Valda? How
intriguing. Well, we needed more interesting people to help the
night along. I would love a glass. Maybe a round for the group
to celebrate this fortuitous meeting?” He said to steer the
conversation so that Gabrielle could pull Asena’s attention
away.

Dimitri noted his sister's unease and did feel a slight
hesitance for her. He caught her gaze and held it, his brow
arching ever so slightly. She was his sister even if she was a
b*tch at times and she obviously wasn't handling this noble
well. Now how did she intend to charm her way into a ladyship in
the future like this?...He gave her an almost less terse look
before taking the tray from her, to free up her hands. It was a
slight peace offering to her. He could handle this flirt if it
truly was making her uncomfortable. "Hardly. Don't mind if we
do. I'll take any chance to sample the best from the Whetherford
stock." He added with an almost smile there. "To the candidates
and our gracious hosts. May fate be in their favor and provide
ample entertainment and events like this for us." He said as he
raised his glass, not wishing to prolong his sister's suffering.
He took a drink after allowing the lord here to say something if
he wished, before he gave a nod at the flavor. "Ah, fantastic.
Now Sir Whetherford, have you decided which candidate to throw
your support behind? I'm sure it would be invaluable support. Of
course, I am partial to Lord Malachi Hythian as his victory
would secure my Lady Luna Hythian's future political security."
He stated to let Alyciana gather herself perhaps and show a bit
more of her personality...

Malachi noted with pleasure that Eir seemed to flicker briefly
in anger, but frowned as the young companion he had, turned his
attention away. Ah, so no fireworks this evening... How bland.
His attention moved once more to his wife who, as always, seemed
aloof and unaware of even her past lover's presence.
Interesting, was it her mind that had forgotten or was she
willingly forgetting. His eyes were narrowed in thought until he
was drawn out of his ruminating by the people approaching them.
Asena Valda and two of her lackeys seemed to be wanting to
converse- but before Malachi could even get out a word of
greeting, Gabrielle had swept in- but before Gabrielle could get
a word in- Damien swept in, cocky as almighty and holding that
smarmy air Malachi found amusing. What was more amusing to the
Elvi was the banter Asena and Damien engaged in, hinting at a
past connection that seemed to be seasoned sourly. Malachi
clapped the man on the shoulder, subtly pulling his out of the
centre of attention and more politely introducing his advisor.
"Ah, though it seems you have met Asena I must introduce you to
the rest of this lovely group." Malachi's polite words were
accompanied by a pointed look to Damien that seemed to say
'Watch it- I know you're up to something smartass-''
"This is one of my most trusted advisors, aiding me in my
family's company and in many of my other... Exploits. Meet
Damien Malaneux. Resident smart-ass and family pain in the ass.
Good friend you might say."
He smiled tightly, letting go of the man's shoulder.

Farren Levitt Waymaker

It had not escaped Farren's notice that Asena was unnerved and
with keen ears he caught the exchange between Septimus and
herself. So the Hex woman could mind read... Intriguing to say
the least. He'd have to be extra cautious around her then. While
his notebook contained most of his thoughts, a great many of
them still resided in his head. If this woman could access him,
it'd be a liability. He stood, glad Asena took his advice and
moved toward Malachi. Farren's eyes snapped to the approaching
figure of Gabrielle Brighteye, interest piquing. It seemed the
woman was forward, and by the insult to Asena's status, already
on the attack. Lady Asena was in no real danger however as
Septimus gracefully moved the conversation for a moment,
allowing for her to recover her wits. That is when the new
figure entered. Dressed in an obvious and glaring white, Farren
immediately felt a sense of annoyance. The male carried himself
in one manner, spoke in another and yet dressed in another. It
seemed this male was keen on keeping people away from his most
inner self by deflecting and using other personalities to aid
his facade. Though- it seemed he had a connection to Asena, one
he'd vaguely heard of when looking into her life with the guild.
It seemed the tensions between them ran high and were not
altogether pleasant. He'd have to watch this man with the
flamboyant attitude. As Farren was offered a glass of alcohol,
he simply gave the servant a look, causing them to stammer and
pale, moving away to serve another person. Good. All servants
were nosy and prying- no exceptions. Not to be outshone by
Damien's entrance, Eir seemed to try and guide the conversation
away from Asena, seperating her like a wolf separated a sheep
from its heard. With Asena excluded from the conversation, it
would be easier for Gabrielle to have this 'one on one' chat.
With a hum to himself of surprise, he noted the drake did not
seem to waver, despite being int the presence of a woman he'd
fawned shamelessly over, and the man who had taken his lady.
Colour Farren impressed, he'd never met a drake with such
self-restraint. Though, it seemed to Farren's keen eye, that the
older man gained some strength and solace from the young lad at
his side.
When Farren was observing the younger male, he made eye contact
with him. Blue eyes meeting blue eyes for a moment Farren found
altogether too long. Never the less, he didn't break
eye-contact, wanting to see how ballsy this kid was. Blinking in
surprise, he felt an odd breathlessness in his chest, mouth
going dry as he seemed drawn into the now darkening irises of
the blonde youth. As soon as the feeling had reached him, it
retracted, the boy smiling brightly and breaking eyecontact.
Farren swallowed for a moment, mind immediately realising the
boy had much stronger power than his appearance suggested.

Lei turned to him, smile feline.
"Though your lover seems hesitant, she can't seem to resist your
offer."
Damon's eyes lit up a little with hope and he glanced across the
room to where she seemed to be reeling from the Hex'd woman's
intrusion. A fair reaction to something so unpleasant. He moved
a hand to his chest where under his vest he could feel the
necklace she had given him against his skin. He'd waited for
this moment for far longer than he had wanted, but now with
Asena in a place where she might have a role that requires her
to be more stationary. He could feel that glimmer of hope that
perhaps this was their chance- to start that life they'd sworn
to each other they'd eventually have.
Damon grimaced as Lei insisted on feeling his arm up, goosebumps
raising on his skin at the touch that was meant to be alluring,
yet he found repulsive. He'd known this woman for too long to
thing of her with much more than pity and disgust. She was long
gone... And though Damon didn't easily give up on people, he had
given up on Lei. Instead, his heart pumped hard as he followed
Gabrielle into the conversation that now included the other two
parties.

Bryer Rose Everette

Accompanied: Eir'Asa ([member=4]Kimcora[/member] ) Damon,
Lei'daisa (@DolittleAmi )
Bryer had know Eir long enough to spot the signs of anger that
he tried so well to cover. The brief flicker of his eyes and the
way the drakes joints seemed to discolour slightly as though
morphing to their more scaly appearance was brief, but the
trusty companion spotted it. Which was why he was secretly proud
that Eir remained calm and cool when they moved to group with
the majority of people. Bryer's eyes met the man Eir had told
him was Farren, and when the odd man held his gaze back, Bryer
couldn't help but assess him. Like taking in a breath himself,
he gave a small tug on the man's lungs through his mouth, eyes
clouding in that familiar overcast manner as he did so. Though,
Farren didn't break eyecontact and didn't seem to flinch,
despite being deprived of oxygen for a brief moment. The only
hint of recognition was an angered glint in the male's eyes.
Bryer's face broke into a warm grin before he stepped past
Farren to the unsuspecting Melrose.
Bryer moved and with a sly hand, gripped the lapel of the man's
jacket, as though examining the fabric. He ran his hand along
it, brushing against the man's chest and giving a hum of
interest. The gesture was intimate and flirty- but done by
Bryer's warm and calm personality, seemed natural.
"My my, this is lovely. Silk no? Ah, beautiful piping. I see
you're a man of taste. You'll see I'm wearing something
similarly tailored except-" Bryer reached to turn the edge of
his collar inside-out, exposing his pale collar-bone "The piping
seems to be done with an understitch~"
He bit his lip a little as he set the collar back straight, and
peered into the eyes of the male's mask. He hummed and noted the
man's eyes and what he could ascertain from what was exposed of
the man. He hummed and gave a bow, bringing the man's hand to
his lips as though the gentleman were a fair lady.
"I am Bryer Everette, at your service~" he purred, curiosity and
attraction causing him to look up at the male with a strong
gaze.

Sumara Zendulu
Location: Whetherford Mansion Ballroom, adjoining room.
Accompanied: Corentin Desdemona (@marquise), Shimmer
([member=8]Endetrix[/member])
What annoyed this calm woman the most was how much glee
Corentine seemed to gain from dabbling in these political games.
A group of 'acts' like them should simply remain outside of law
and society like they always had. But alas, it seemed Corentine
had fallen prey to larger powers- and while Sumara disliked
this, she would not bend on her loyalty. Sumara simply adjusted
her tribal-esque robes, making sure she wasn't showing more than
the audience would have bargained for. Sumara was wearing white
body paint that stood out against her dark coffee-like skin,
creating that eery 'shaman' energy she so loved to conjure.
Lines of the white paint swirled up her legs and along her
borderline risquely exposed thighs, onto the bare flat of her
stomach and along her arms in whorls. The paint adorned her face
as well, crossing over her lips and curling against her cheeks.
Sumara had studied hypnosis for a long time and had perfected a
certain look that seemed to aid the process of allowing her
voultuntere to fall asleep. With a brief pat down of herself,
she ascertained that she had brought everything necessary to put
on the show. Her hypo-charm and flash powder, the scented herbs
and oil. Everything was going to plan. As Corentine left them,
she simply started her way down to the main room, casting a look
at the harlequin as she hid from two of the servants, who seemed
completely uninterested in either of them- though one seemed to
shy away from the tall and scary woman whose white markings
seemed to herald otherworldly vibes. When the two servant had
passed, Sumara looked at the other troupe member in
adomonishment.
"I have no clue as to why you're creeping about... While our
main objective is a secret, the host of this party knows we are
here to perform. The only thing making us look suspicious right
now is the way you're creeping about like a ghost."
With sure steps, she moved toward the door where she could hear
the hum of activity from the party. Light shone from under the
door and Sumara waited there, doing another once-over as she
waited for her queue.

Shimmer Caesori
Location: Whetherford Mansion Ballroom, adjoining room.
Accompanying: Sumara Zendulu (@DolittleMax), Corentin Desdemona
(@Marquise)
As Shimmer and the rest of the Nevermore present continued to
make their way to the ballroom, Sumara strutting bravely down
the halls like she owned the place, and Corentin repeatedly
switching between ridiculous twirls and hiding behind pillars,
she did her best to hold back the voices in her head. They egged
her on, encouraging her to spill the blood of anyone and
everyone who happened to pass by her. Ordinarily she wouldn't
try so hard to silence them, but instead lean into them, but
Corentin had made it clear that this was not the time for such
theatrics, but instead a time for theatrics of another variety.
Suddenly, as a few guests passed, Corentin ducked behind a
pillar in an attempt to hide from them, and Shimmer, lost in
thought, instinctually followed suit. Sumara didn't waste any
time in calling them out on these antics. Shimmer replied, with
a hushed voice and a sour face "I'm an assassin! I stay in the
shadows. Being out in the open like this puts me off kilter."
Shimmer decided it was best to find something in the present to
focus on in order to at least muffle the voices. So, she began
fiddling with her dagger that she had hidden on her backside,
underneath the sash around her waist. Nothing too conspicuous,
but enough to keep her grounded as she moved about.
