Malachi conceded to letting his friend guide him off to be
healed. Elvi usually healed pretty quickly, so Malachi had
expected to feel the effects less in the morning, but perhaps it
was something about the harsh Glaperean sun that thwarted his
natural healing processes. He sat down and moved the top of his
robes aside to give him access to his shoulders, giving a small
sigh and resting his chin in his hand as he waited for what was
to come. When Eir decided to prefix his treatment with 'if you
feel nauseous...' he quickly whipped his head around to object
when Eir's hands already came into contact with his bare skin.
The male's eyes widened at the sudden flow of energy and light,
his gaze moved to Eir and for some reason a wave of bashfulness
flooded though. Quickly he looked, clapping a hand over his
mouth as his face reddened. He remained very still as Eir went
about his business and forced away the weird emotions. When he
knew Eir was finished he quickly stood up, adjusting his clothes
again and shooting an odd look at Eir.
"Wh-why'd you have to go and make it gay-" he thought as he
slapped his face slightly and cleared his throat.
"That was- yeah, a little odd... Um, Vinxa" he said, shoving
away the embarrassment. He only saw Eir as a friend, so why it
got him embarrassed was a mystery to him. Malachi liked solely
women- perhaps it was just odd to experience a caring touch.
After all, physical affection was never displayed between his
father and mother. At most it was linking arms while walking;
now that he thought about it, was it odd for a husband and wife
to sleep in separate rooms?
He shook the thoughts from his mind in favour of something more
exciting.
"So, what are the plans for going to the beach tonight? Should
we take food? More clothes? I'm sure Lae'Vera found last night's
predicament funny if anything. I'm sure she'll enjoy the story
that goes with it."

Eir gave a peaceful little sigh, pleased with his work and
feeling a little peckish. Honestly, healing always sapped a bit
of his energy, but something that minor wasn’t of real
consequence or effect. Well to him at least. Eir expected a
table and instead got an exclamation that made his eyes widen
like a deer in front of an arrow. How the hell was that gay? The
healing itself? The glowing Magis? The touch to the shoulder?
“G-gay? I just healed you! Jeez, I didn’t know you Elvi were
sensitive about shoulders.” He stammered our defiantly, golden
eyes still wide. Had he offended some Elvi custom or just
Malachi? He felt instantly bad and tried to figure out how to
rectify the situation.
“And no offense, Mal, you aren’t my type.” He told him quickly
to clarify that he hadn’t meant it as a way to hit on him.
Honestly, after watching Eir actually flirt, Malachi would have
known it wouldn’t have been nearly that coordinated nor
efficient.
“Alright, perhaps I was a bit overzealous in helping. It was the
first time I got to work on someone that’s not Draconian and—Oh
dear that sounded weird. I meant um, I wanted to help my
friend?” He tried to explain before he then shook his head. Why
did he make it sound like a question?! After his floundering,
Eir cleared his throat, a bit of steam coming from his mouth
from getting worked up and that Heli breath bubbling to the
surface in his flustered state.
“Ahem, well, the beach. So we-um-“ He looked quickly at the door
and waited a moment to check to see if any staff came by. When
none did, he decided it was safe to continue. “A change of
clothing and food would be smart. We’ll be out there a while and
you should get to experience the water so you’ll want a change
of clothes. The intense sun makes it feel like bath water. Oh
and it’s so crystal clear—well not at night —but you can see the
sky and—Oh well I shouldn’t spoil it!” He got excited again and
made himself stop talking, knowing he could yack for hours about
the beautiful Glapera beaches. If he wasn’t allowed to talk
about the dangerous things that is.
“There’s usually a bonfire or two going on. So some good food
might help if you want to drink. As for Lea’Vera...” He gave a
small gulp and played with his palm a bit. “I know she just
found things funny. But I’m nervous to be honest with you. I
know it’s hard to believe,” His tone clearly conveying his
sarcasm, “but my quirks usually lead to better friendships than
interest. This is the um—well perhaps the first time I actually
got a yes to an invitation towards anyone I find attractive in
some way.” He was going around the point, but he was sure
Malachi fathered what he was getting at. He now had Lea’Vera
agreeing to spend time with him, but now how to maintain that
with how awful he could be at times with small talk and
flirting?

He covered his face in renewed embarrassment as Eir asked if it
were some Elvi thing to be offended by someone touching your
bare shoulders, "It was the eye-contact man... don't make eye
contact while you're doing stuff like that-"
Malachi shot a rueful glare at Eir when he claimed the Elvi
'wasn't his type.' Pshhhh- So he had a type now, huh? Big talk
for someone who got embarrassed even looking at a female. When
the male started to stumble over many accidental innuendos, he
simply sighed and tossed a nearby cushion at him.
"Just- Just stop- You're digging your own grave here my
friend..."
He was glad for the change of topic when it finally arrived and
latched his attention onto that, observing his more or less
completely healed skin. From what he could hear in what Eir was
saying, it was clear that their beach trip was going to be
lovely. A picnic sounded like a good idea, and he was already
formulating a plan for that with a few tricks up his sleeves.
Malachi listened to Eir'Asa's worry with Lae'Vera and tried to
pull up the right advice from his mind. Women were tricky, there
was no doubt about it- and these Glaperan women seemed a little
more spirited and forward than the twittery women he was used
to.
"I think you'll find that most people only think of you as a
friend because you haven't expressed interest beyond
friendship... Perhaps it is better if you make your intentions
clear that you find her attractive- but to a greater degree than
you would a friend. If a woman is unsure if you are interested
in her or not, she'll either resign herself to friendship or try
and get your attention. I feel that Lae'Vera isn't the attention
seeking type..."
He gave a small sigh, knowing his words were to vague and taking
a moment to be more direct.
"If you like her romantically, try being romantic. Be tender
with her and show that you care about her and want to know her
better. Compliments are always good. Hey, I could help you write
a poem or something- I don't know-"
He gave his friend a hefty thump on the back before shooting him
a grin.
"I'll worry about the food, you worry about the female. Veitrelg
thurirl!" he said with a wink before hurrying off.
Malachi knocked on Eir's door eagerly, standing there with a
towel over his shoulder and a large basket in one hand. He'd
gotten more help from the kitchen today and his new friends,
even convincing them (through much miming of course) to let him
try and recreate a Phonaxian sweet. It was a kind of layered
pastry filled with sweet cream and jam that melted in the mouth.
Alongside this treat were other treats; the Glaperan Delight
he'd had previously, some savoury pastries and fruit. He was
excited to get the chance to go swimming in what Eir had
described as 'a bath' temperature water. He had only experience
the cold rough seas of his homeland that weren't as welcoming as
these ones sounded.
"Hey Daisy- You done preening in there? I might be too old to
swim if you take much longer!" he called cheekily.

Re: CHPT 0.11 Brothers (Malachi & Eir'Asa)

---------------------------------------------------------
As they separated for the night to get ready to leave, Eir
reflected on Malachi had said. While he was still lost on how he
made the healing gay through eye contact, he decided to let it
go and move on. He hadn’t shown interest in men before, well
beyond finding them physically attractive in some capacity and
only a certain few. It was the same with women of course, but he
figured the appreciation of appearance didn’t have to be
mutually exclusive to one gender. But that was Besides his
point. He really hadn’t meant to make Malachi uncomfortable...
He shook his head and instead focused on putting on the
appropriate attire for the evening. He was making a habit now of
leaving at night and that was perhaps not entirely alright with
his parents. Well, what they really didn’t know wouldn’t hurt
them. Besides, it was only the beach and that was as safe as
anything in Glapera could be. Beneath his robes he wore the
traditional shorts they usually used for beach activity and
packed a change of clothes in case they were needed. As for the
rest of his appearance, he made sure everything about him was
natural and plain as to not bother fish or draw unnecessary
attention. He wanted to have fun after all and not flaunt some
wealth that technically wasn’t his yet. Besides, Lea’Vera didn’t
seem all that caught up in the status aspect and he just wanted
to get to know her better. While she was attractive and witty,
he didn’t know much other than she came from a farming village
to work at the docks with her father. Perhaps tonight he could
fumble his way through actual getting to know the pretty drake
that appeared to have more to her than met the eye. Besides, he
was sure she might be at least a little curious about him after
last nights fiasco...
Eir was busy trying to get a curl to stay in place when Malachi
got sarcastic through the door. “Mishun vi qidir daariv...” Eir
called back with slight exasperation before he came to the door.
He opened it wide, his draconian nose catching the sweet smell
of baked foods. He smiled slightly, curious if Malachi bakes
these or got them that fast. One of the smells was unfamiliar
after all.
“Nice assortment. It all smell wonderful.” He said before
gesturing for Malachi to follow. He thanked a servant for
offering to call the carriage for them, since that would save
walking around at night around the docks. Eir agreed since last
time their night adventures ended in nearly getting their asses
kicked.
When they arrived at the coastline, the beach spanned for miles
of sugary white sand and expanded of crystalline waters that in
the daylight were a beautiful aqua blue. Now it looked a deep
blue with the moon and stars reflecting over the surface. Along
the beach were dotted fires and collections of people of all
ages maneuvering about the space. While not as busy as usual, it
still looked like most were having a good time after finishing
work and not having to worry over the blazing hot sun. While
Draconian’s could stand the heat, they preferred cooler
temperatures after exposure all day.
Eir gave an inhale of then salty air and gave Malachi a rather
playful look. “Come on before all the good spots are taken. I
think you’re going to love it!” He hurried along, chatting to
Malachi about the water and how it was safe even at night. Well
except for the bioluminescent jellyfish that would occasionally
crop up but it was hard not to see them when they glowed an
eerie green under the moonlight. While not fatal, it would hurt
quite a bit to get stung. When they found a decent spot, Eir
helped set things down, including towels for lounging, before
tugging the robes over his head and getting down to the shorts.
“So what do you think of the beach?” He asked as he sighed at
the feeling of the still warm sand under the palms of his feet.

Malachi gave a smirk when Eir had emerged and immediately sensed
his treats but made a gesture to have them both hurrying on
behind the servant who had gotten them a carriage. It was quite
a good thing they had, after all, he didn’t want to jostle the
contents of the basket around and it would have gotten quite
heavy after walking for some time. This was to be their second
evening escapade, but hopefully they had a better time of it.
As they sat in the carriage on the way there, Mal reflected on
how the two of them had already bonded so quickly. He felt a
small pang of grief as the contrast of this new and already
brotherly friendship reflected on the relationship of his own
brother. It was a loss to have not had the same bond growing up
as most experienced but now- he glanced at Eir with a thoughtful
look, he had the brother his soul had ached for. Perhaps Malachi
proved to fill this particular void also for the sole drake
lord. Perhaps this would become a friendship that would last the
ages; Malachi sensed it would.
Stepping out of the carriage and walking down to the beach gave
the Elvi time to start to soak in the scenery. He could smell
the beach and feel it in the breeze much before they mounted the
dunes. What they saw as they crested over the small hill nearly
knocked the breath from him, and he simply stumbled after Eir as
they went closer to the water and he tried to take it all in.
The sand was still warm and filtered in between his toes. The
stars on the ocean... it had almost rendered him speechless.
Eir asked him what he thought and he could only manage an awed
comment, so soft it was almost to himself.
“It’s as if the very tears of the stars are in the sea, lighting
it so...”
After a moment of just standing there quietly, he shook it off
and moved to help set out their blankets. He took the
opportunity to reach into the basket and pull out a piece of the
dessert he’d made.
“Here- I think it is not as good as the Glaperian Delight we had
at the market, but it is the best dessert of my homeland. I
bring you the Mille-feuille! Try it-“ he said putting it into
Eirs palm “It is a pastry of many layers with whipped cream and
jam and- Oh! Hello Lae’Vera! Did you want to try some?”
Lae’Vera had approached from a point further down the beach, her
own towel slung over her shoulder and her own beach gear on.
Malachi almost did a double take when he handed her the dessert,
realising how well endowed with curves and bosom she was, but he
tactfully averted his gaze in favour of gesturing to the sea.
“Thank you Malachi- Hello Eir’Asa” she gave Eir a relaxed smile
and waved with the hand not holding the dessert.
“Eir was just introducing me to the finest beach I’ve ever been
to, it’s really quite a sight”
She smiled as she laid out her towel, still holding the pastry,
“Yes, those who come here as outsiders often miss the beauty of
it. After all, our ocean offers her most splendid sights at
night, a fact not many know”
She glanced curiously at the dessert in her hand and took a
delicate sniff of inspection. With a slight moment of
hesitation, she bit into it, covering her mouth slightly as it
crumbled about her lips. Malachi waited for her verdict in
anticipation.
She swallowed and gave a nod, “For something that looked quite
heavy, it was very light to the tastebuds. Is this a Phonaxian
dessert?” she asked, her deductive nature placing his origin
quickly.
“Indeed it is. Now-“ Malachi shedded to his shorts and shot the
other two a grin “I’m eager to get wet-“
With that he took off at a run to the ocean, not caring if the
other two followed close behind or managed at their own pace.

Eir took in Malachi’s awe at the scenery and was happy his dear
new friend could enjoy this. Glapera was his home and a
beautiful place that all should get to see. He was happy he
could share that with someone who seemed to accept Eir without
question or fault. Around Malachi he felt he wasn’t judged or
held to some expectation. He could just be himself and that was
enough. It brought that feeling of companionship and belonging
to the lonely drake that had always wanted a sibling or someone
to speak this candidly with. It was strange, but all too perfect
that he found it in the strange foreigner he had been so nervous
to meet.
Eir blinked are the offered pastry and gave it a curious glance.
It did look fantastic even if it was leagues different from the
foods he was used to. “Thanks Mal.” He said as he took a bite
from it, only to pause mid chew when Lea’Vera approached. She
looked quite stunning under the moonlight, let alone with all
that skin showing. If any doubt could be found that she had an
impressive figure before, it was all gone now. He, of course,
didn’t look long before he made himself attend to the task at
hand. A greeting which he should return to the pretty woman. He
gave a swallow to remove the pastry from his mouth, offering her
a smile and slight wave when she waved toward him in greeting.
He was rather intruiged she caught the origin of the pastry so
easily, but figured it was obvious that Malachi was from Phonax
due to his appearance. Still she was a sweet person to
compliment the pastry, as it seemed to make Malachi quite happy.
It was rather funny to see how excited he was and that made Eir
in turn feel more relaxed and his nerves fade. This was just fun
with his friend and Lea’Vera. Surely he couldn’t cause much harm
there.
When Malachi took off in a run, Eir gave a chuckle and watched
him go. He used that opportunity finish the pastry before
turning his attention to Lea’Vera. “I didn’t expect him to get
this excited.” He said before shaking his head and offering her
a polite smile. “I’m glad you could make it Lea’Vera. I
was...anticipating getting to see you again after our small talk
at the Commons.” He said, trying to follow Malachi’s advice to
pick words that she would know and make clear that he wanted to
get to know her better. Besides, she seemed to hold quite the
charm to her which she showed with how confident she seemed. He
didn’t want to brow her with talking however and gave her a
playful smile, one fueled by Malachi’s excitement and his own
attempts at easing himself into conversation. “Doege ihk vi
swim?” (Care for a swim?) He asked as he walked backwards a
little, not picking up his pace quite yet as to see if she was
coming or wanted to stay.

Lae’Vera smiled, “It’s hard not to get excited. I remember the
first time I saw the beaches, I was mesmerised; dreamt of it for
weeks!”
As Eir hinted at the fact he had looked forward to seeing her,
she gave a smile, tilting her head. He had such an interesting
way of putting things that made her have to shuffle through his
words to find their intention.
“Indeed, I too enjoyed our little happenstance. Well, both of
our happenstances-“ she giggled, hinting at the embarrassing
event the night previous.
She gave him a wink, “Glad to see I wasn’t underdressed this
time. I would have hated to miss the ‘temple robes’ memo”
With that playful comment she gave a nod to his offer of a swim
in the sea.
“ si ornla itov ekess swim!” (I would love a swim) she quickly
made to run past him, brushing roughly against him as she dashed
across the sand. After a few awkward running steps through the
dark water, she dove into it, disappearing beneath the water and
bursting up a few feet away. Malachi however, was nowhere to be
seen.
When Eir entered the water deep enough for him to be up to his
shoulders, something grabbed him by the ankles and quickly
pulled him under the glittering surface of the water. Lae’Vera
gasped and quickly began to swim toward him. Whatever it was
tugged and rolled, forcing Eir through a series of aquatic
acrobat moves before allowing him to surface. When Eir did find
the surface he’d come face to face with a hysterical Malachi.
“Gods! I bet you thought I were some night sea creature that had
snatched you to the depths”
Lae’Vera had calmed enough to give the water an annoyed swipe,
spraying water into Malachi’s face. The Elvi’s mouth had been
open in laughter and so choked on the water splashed at him,
causing him to splutter for a moment. He hadn’t seen who had
directed the splash at him and thought it was Eir.
“Ohhhhhhh- I seeeee! We’re gonna play it that way huh?”
Summoning his Magic he used the air to carve out some of the
water, creating a decently sized wave and crashing it over his
friend with a victorious burst of laughter. Lae’Vera laughed as
Eir had been dragged into the water fight and swam to his side
to quickly try and aid him against the attacks of Malachi. She
tossed small splashes of water at the Elvi male from behind Eir,
using the drakes shoulders to push herself up every now and
again for a moment of vantage in which she could aim better.
They ducked and swam around each other for some time, laughing.
As their energy ran thin, Mal decided it was a great opportunity
to leave the two to their own devices.
“Aw man- I got some sand in my eye, I’m gonna go to shore to get
it out and rest”
Before he could hear of any argument or acknowledgement he had
dove off toward the shore.
Lae’Vera puffed slightly, catching her breath after all the
shenanigans. She swam a little closer to Eir so he could hear
her clearly.
“ vinxa. nomeno thurkear tepohaic coanwor diwhaf” she smiled
happily. (Thank you. Tonight has been fun)

Re: CHPT 0.11 Brothers (Malachi & Eir'Asa)

Ah, so she liked the beaches? The image of Lea’Vera enamored
with the water was cute thought, one that made Eir smile
slightly to himself. Eir blushed at the mention of his previous
dress he wore the night she caught him. Right he needed to
explain that. However, the memory did make a breathy laugh leave
his nose since it was quite the funny story, one he was sure he
would share with Malachi for years to come. “Drat, I could have
sworn I told you formal dress only.” He snickered at her shared
humor, glad that she was willing to laugh about it.
However, when she took off running past him, he blinked and
excitedly went to follow. The water was warm and inviting,
despite the waves that rolled in from the deep sea. It felt
amazing and Eir loved just spending time in the ocean. He
expected Malachi to love it too, but missed his reaction when he
couldn’t find the Elvi man. “Mal? Where did you--?” He was cut
off mid call by being snatched under the water by his ankle. The
Draconian swallowed a mouthful of salty water, sputtering
bubbles as he was tossed around. To say the least he was
alarmed, at the most the shock sent his body into survival mode.
By the time the pair surfaced, Eir’s hair was sopping wet and
his golden eyes glowed under the moonlight in frazzled shock.
However, when he saw the practically howling Malachi was the
culprit his annoyance rose. “Tzarafar!” (*sshole) He coughed out
even if humor plagued his face as he smirked at the Elvi
startling the hell out of him. He made a move to splash him, but
was beaten to the punch by Lea’Vera. That drew a laugh from him
at Malachi’s sputtering. However, his laughter was cut short by
a wave that rose magically and doused him thoroughly.
“Oh this means war Elvi.” He shoved water at Malachi, shielding
his face with laughter when he received a splash in return and
caught the tail end of Lea’Vera’s attack. Eir hardly felt
flustered by her presence this time, since they were having fun
and he didn’t mind the contact of her using him as both a shield
and a vantage point. In fact, her enthusiasm was cute and funny
to him. Not to mention he was all for some advantage over his
friend that seemed to be using his Magis greatly to his
advantage.
Eir was breathless and thoroughly water logged by the time
Malachi seemed to call a truce and wanted to go tend to sand in
his eyes. Eir gave him a small nod of acknowledgement, but noted
how quickly Malachi dove out of there. Was he truly hurting? Eir
could possibly help? He felt he had to catch his breath though
and instead gave a heavy breath and leaned back in the water to
float and rest. As Lea’Vera swam over to him, he tilted his head
to look at her and straightened up to be sure he heard her
correctly. He was glad she had a great time and honestly he fel
the same. “Si jalla yenta vinxa iihk wer letoclo vur wer
bensvelk tairais. Wux tepoha ir uoinota di vi splashing jira.”
(I should say thank you for the help and the good time. You have
one hell of a splashing arm.) He told her as he brushed soggy
curls from his face. “Si jatil coi ui bensvelk ekess tepoha vi

harkajup gamblers. Nomeno jahus bensvelk diwhaf. Wux annish

fun that does not involve dressing up to hide from angry
gamblers. This was good fun. You seem very fun.) He said before
a blush did pull from him at realizing that he might be over
complimenting.

“ tawurair shafaer wer bevnol majakic wux vi versvesh jira si

laugh.
Working the farm tends to give you a strong arm I have found.
“Dout Elvi thurirl seems ekess vucot svanoa ekess wield jacida

Your Elvi friend seems to know how to wield his Magis to his
advantage
Lae’Vera gave a laugh as he made reference to what seemed to be
an interesting night for the boys. She treaded water casually
and leaned back to float slightly as she raised a brow and
looked at him sceptically.
“ Gambling? Si tira ti clax wux ekess qe vi betting sthyr.

Gambling? i did not take you to be a betting man. what was it
that led you from the money tables to the streets in women
clothes? I am intrigued
The night she had stumbled across them she could hardly stop
thinking about all the possibilities of what they had been up
to, but gambling certainly wasn’t one of the ideas. Her mind had
gone to pranking men into thinking they were women- but she
didn’t think Eir would participate in that. She had thought that
perhaps they had had a little too much to drink and had found
themselves in a compromising situation?
She was eager to hear of the saga and listened to it intently
until the water grew cool.
”Ultroi hefoc vi zi ajikis thurkear!” she said with a laugh at
the conclusion of his tale.
Sounds like a wild night!
She’d hung on every word and gasped at the pet where the thug
had threatened them and they had to hide. The tale had somewhat
made Eir more attractive in her eyes, not because of the escape
but the way he used his wit in the situation. The part where
he’d tossed the bag of coins at the pursuer had her grinning.
“Nomagqe yth jalla itrewic spical ekess shore, coi ui vi moxt

Perhaps we should go back to shore, it is getting chilly now.
When they swam back, Mal was lounging on a towel, half the food
eaten and him talking to himself.
“I see you’ve been enjoying the food” chuckled Lae’Vera as her
teeth chattered. She shook off the water before grabbing her
towel and starting to rub herself dry. Mal looked up in mock
offence and gestured to what remained.
“There’s plenty left!” He cast a questioning and suggestive
glance at Mal “You two were gone for a while and I got hungry”
Lae’Vera gave another chuckle and sat down on her towel to eat
some of the food

The mock flex made Eir’Asa chuckle a bit not finding the muscle
he did find there unattractive. Honestly, he didn’t find much
about Lea’Vera unattractive. She was quick with her whit, had a
good humor about things, and was quite pretty. It was easy for
him see why he was intimidated by her and had trouble getting
his thoughts and words in order around her. But he was trying,
for the sake of trying something new and doing something he
wanted for a change instead of cowering from the challenge. That
gave him a certain pride as he launched into his story of what
happened, more or less to save his good name that he wasn’t
running around in womens clothes gambling in Sililos. His words
came a bit easier the more he spoke with her, even laughing at
times when speaking on the rather intimidating circumstances. By
the end he blushed lightly at her saying she was cold. “Ah, yes.
Let’s get you out of the water before--” He almost said
hypothermia sets in, but stopped himself and corrected. Malachi
did say that medical troubles were off the table. “Before you
freeze.” He finished and went with her to the shore.
Malachi’s visage on the shore, lounging with the food and
looking much like a prince at his beach retreat. It drew a smirk
to Eir who used his hand to shake some of the water from his

shaking his head at Malachi’s defense of himself. Though, the

shenanigans.” He teased before taking another one of the
Phonaxian treats. “But you even got complimented on your Magis
use so you can know only good things were said about you.” He
then passed Lea’Vera a look and raised a brow. “If you’re still
