Re: CHPT 0.11 Brothers (Malachi & Eir'Asa)

She smiled a little, “Indeed, he has gone on many an adventure
for the Aluana’s company...” As the information that his father
‘managed a few ships’ sunk into her mind, thoughts began to
assemble. The way he was adorned didn’t speak of a simple
merchants son or ship handlers son. It spoke of nobility and
wealth... what was it he said about where he lived again?
Malachi blinked as Eir’Asa made an attempt at trying to invite
the girl to the beach, blinking as words seemed to tumble from
him in a nervous flood. It started off okay until he went right
in for the kill and mentioned all the reasons why she wouldn’t
want to come. He watched in amazement and awe at how someone
could say so many things wrong one after the other. What a
better way to enjoy and outdoor experience at the beach than
think about the things that could kill you, harm you or be
unhealthy for you. Even hearing Eir’s reasons made Malachi
question if he wanted to go to the beach after that lovely
exposé...
Malachi cleared his throat and gave the drake a nudge to stop
talking before he ruined what his last comment might save.
“Indeed, the more the merrier as we say in Phonax. I’m sure Eir
was being funny when he was talking about the more negative
factors. Such a joker ahah...”
Lae’Vera simply raised an eyebrow in amusement as she watched
this whole interaction and the way Eir seemed to have such a way
with his words.
“It would have to be in two days time, as I am working much over
the next two days. Say we meet an hour after the sunrise? Then
it will be still cool but bright”
“Sounds perfect” accepted Malachi quickly.
Lae gave Eir a bright smile and looked at him sincerely, “It
will be nice to see you again as well”
In an act of bold and flirtatious energy, she reached up to give
one of his dangly curls a flick, sending it bouncing as she left
them both there at the bar.
Malachi gave Eir a faced that was a mix of confusion and
amusement.
“Whatever that meant- I’m sure it was positive. How in gods
name!? That was almost the singularly worst bout of flirting
I’ve ever seen and it WORKED!?”
He slapped his friend on the back and laughed, “With your luck
and my teachings perhaps there is a romantic in you yet!”

Eir felt the nudge and gave Malachi a look, his forehead
wrinkling some at him trying to gloss over his words. The more
the merrier. What was that supposed to mean? Eir certainly
didn't enjoy being surrounded by too many people. That was just
a hot bed of infectious viruses and disease. but him saying Eir
was joking about the negative aspects of a beach made him look
at Malachi almost offended. He most certainly wasn't joking.
Health was never a joke--
Before he could give Malachi a small lecture on how important
skin health was in the sun, he was stopped by Lea'Vera speaking.
Her humor leaked into her tone and she had this rather cute look
on her face that look unconvinced and like she was moments from
a witty comment. He felt his tongue tying again as she accepted,
mostly because Eir had never gotten that far. Usually by then
the person was overwhelmed by his rambling about academic
topics, was bored by his lack of flirting, or decided he was
better as a friend. So, this new development of having her
accept and even give a time and day made him instantly feel his
heart race. The flick of the curl pulled a blush from him that
was so deep it was destined to make the poor drake's face feel
like a flame. He was already surprised steam didn't come from
his nostrils.
"Ah um--that's--bye." He stammered out, looking a bit lost for a
moment as she left. How had that worked? Surely he hadn't done
that right. His flirting had looked nothing like Malachi's and
honestly, Eir was still just as jittery and nervous now. Was he
supposed to feel like his heart was leaping into his throat and
his face to feel all warm or his brain to feel scrambled?
Malachi's words only confirmed his thinking, but Eir couldn't
muster up words to describe what he was feeling or what was
going on. Not until Malachi gave him that slap on the back that
snapped him out of his over-analyzing thoughts.
"Oh I appreciate it, but um...Did it work? She seemed a bit
evasive at the end. And she flicked my hair. Is that a good
sign?" He asked with a worried look before he then gave Malachi
a softer look. "That was the worst thought?? I followed your 3
Cs of whatever. And you said it was positive. And I hardly think
I'm right for being a romantic, Mal. my heart was freaking out
the entire time and I wasn't sure what to say. How do you talk
so smoothly with people?" He asked, looking a little suspicious
that it must be Magis again.

Malachi gave a jovial laugh before finishing off his drink, “I
think that was a good sign, women act evasive on purpose so you
have to put effort into perusing them. It’s a woman thing- but
in fact I think she was flirting with you!”
Malachi blinked his eyelashes and feigned looking demure before
also giving Eir’s curl a flick. He found the way that the drakes
face still radiated a red colour amusing, and a clear sign that
he grew flustered easily.
“It takes practice! I used to get all worked up about it, but in
Phonax the women aren’t quite as outgoing as your friend there.
They like having someone confident come sweep them off their
feet. You’ll catch on eventually and before long you’ll be able
to do it without even noticing”
“Now, about topics. Perhaps I should speak on that...” Mal gave
him a pointed look “Don’t talk about diseases, dying or whatever
you classify poisonous jellyfish. I know you happen to like all
that stuff but I don’t think reminding someone of their
mortality or every illness under the sun is going to appeal to
them. So illnesses are off the list of topics. Okay?”
He thought for a moment and realised there was more, “Also...
don’t ask their age, or comment on their weight. Don’t bring up
social standing or how wealthy they are. You can talk about the
weather, but only if it seems they can’t find anything to say.
Don’t talk about topics that are hard to understand or will make
them feel stupid”
Mal shrugged, “That’s all I can think of for the moment...”
Malachi paid for both their drinks with an attempted ‘thank you’
in Vs’shtak, earning an odd look from the bartender.
“So, since we’ve cooled off and you’ve earnt yourself a fine
lady friend, what do you wish to do?”

The jovial laugh sounded pleasant to Eir and it drew a softer
smile from him. The usually awkward man was finding he liked
Malachi's enthusiasm and his confidence. He was almost so
exuberant that Eir wondered if it was false at times. Surely,
this man didn't really find himself this self assured in a new
land...Surely, Malachi couldn't be this content helping a quiet
drake speak to some woman they both didn't really know much
about. What could really be going on in the Elvi's mind that Eir
couldn't see nor sense. Either way, Eir decided it was best not
to pry since it might cause issue. So instead, he leaned in and
listened intently to what Malachi observed of Lea'Vera and how
it all panned out. It seemed she had been flirting...odd. Maybe
Eir was used to people being more direct--or perhaps he was more
direct? Either way, this was all a bit confusing for the
Draconian, who made a small face of confusion even though he
nodded. "Ah okay..." He said in pensive thought, before his
blush was reignited by Malachi flicking that curl as well. He
quickly slapped a hand over the stray hair, eyes narrowing some
despite the smile that graced his lips. The news that there was
hope of him getting better made Eir a bit happier, though he did
raise a brow at the news of how Elvi women were different. They
liked the man to be more assertive and confident? To be charmed?
"I suppose the same could be said here in a sense. Well it
depends on the person really. I don't exactly think my
grandfather did much sweeping with my grandmother." He said
since the woman was a hard-ass and even he knew it. He then
gave a tilt of his head at mention of his topics, mostly because
he didn't see anything wrong with them. It was jsut information
and status, not anything he was wishing upon that person. But if
Mal said it made people uncomfortable then he wouldn't.
"Alright. Illnesses are a no." His brows then furrowed when age,
weight, social standing, and possibly even weather were off the
topic list. Why those were just ocmmon questions with no
ulterior motive. Why were those a problem? He then balked at the
news that he couldn't even dicuss harder topics. "What
constitutes hard?" He asked with a blink since that didn't make
much sense to him. Soon he shook his head though and gave
Malachi a small look. "Okay, got it. I'll try to remember that."
He let Malachi pay, even though custom dictated that Eir should.
But, he wouldn't argue if this was a Phonaxian thing. However,
the attrocious pronunciation of 'Vinxa' made even him wince.
Seems Malachi would need a little lesson on really accentuating
his consonants. However, he gave his friend a polite smile and
nod of approval when he looked at him, glad he was trying the
language out.
"Well, I've shown you the commons and the markets. The beaches
will be soon enough. How about we just walk and I can show you a
few of the sights in the town center? That way we're near enoug
when we're expected back. My father mentioned needing to speak
with us on your education here." He rose and offered Malachi a
jerk of his thumb towards the busier streets. "We can go up
until the redlight district that way--of course not in there
because it's seedy. But just before that there's an amazing
plaza and usually some performers or artists looking to make
some money." He then gave Malachi a small look of curiousity.
"Also it would be a good chance to learn some Vs'shtak--Oh and I
could possibly ask you more about yourself. You will be here for
a while and I hope to know you well." The excitement was there
as Eir did like learning a bit more about Malachi.

He relaxed a little when Eir agreed that speaking of illnesses
was a no, glad that he didn't argue that point. He was no
hypochondriac but even he felt uncomfortable when Eir rattled
off the list of possible negative beach-going effects. However,
when he asked "What constitutes hard?" Mal had to give a shrug
and thoughtful look.
"If they need a dictionary to understand you, then perhaps that
is when the topic becomes too hard. Pffft,'pulchritudinous'"
"I'd be happy to just wander around..." he smiled, though his
mind drifted at the thought of lessons. While at home, he tried
to avoid his lessons as much as possible. He had no need for all
the rubbish they were trying to drum into his head; Superiority
of Species, History of Phonax, Trade and Enterprising. All the
lectures made him so bored he wanted to ram his quill into his
ear until he could tickle his brain awake. He hoped that the
prospect of learning more interesting and foreign topics. He
really, honestly didn't want to be a rascal. It's just that if
situations presented themselves... What was this about a
red-light district? His attention went back to Eir again and he
listened. The plaza sounded like a good place to lose the
baby-sitter; this thought caused him to cast a glance back at
them once more.
"Yes...Um- Artists was it? That sure sounds cultural and
exciting and definitely something we should endeavour to
experience! Onward, lead on" he flashed his smile again as they
walked alongside each other.
"Ah yes. Becoming more acquainted. Firstly, I must ask, is it
true that your kind can shift into actual dragons? Like- the
fire breathing reptiles that they tell legend of in the more
Northern lands? How does that work? Is that why you have horns?
Or are the horns there all the time?"
He through a glance over Eir, eyes narrowing a little in query
"How much of you is actually always 'dragon'?"

When Malachi scoffed at his use of the word, he gave him a
playful roll of his eyes. “Oh hush! I was floundering and that
was the first word that came to mind that wouldn’t make me sound
feeble minded.” He joked back, knowing Malachi would understand
it was perhaps better to sound intelligent than like a babbling
moron. That might have driven a woman like Lea’Vera away faster
than Malachi’s distaste for medical talk.
He walked alongside Malachi, pointing out a few things as they
made their way toward the artisan square. He hadn’t taken
Malachi for being a patron of the arts but he would reserve that
judgement. Maybe Malachi was really just a man with a poets
soul? Who was Eir to judge?
However, he paused his ramblings of buildings and objects when
Malachi asked a surprising question. Eir gave him a blink since
he wasn’t used to people asking about transformations since
shapeshifting was just a part of their society. It was a gift
bestowed upon them by the ancient Kymerans which were said to be
dragons. It was why the Draconians viewed themselves as better
than the other races, as the true original species on Liphilius,
even older than Liphlings in their minds. “Well no and yes. Once
we could, but evolution bred that out of our bloodlines. Now
it’s more anthropomorphic, but we have scales, wings, claws, and
can breathe fire. But my uncle says the devout of the
Taq-Turnock can take a True Dragon’s form after years of study.
I’ve never seen it myself as I’m not a member...They aren’t the
most...accepting of others.” He said before brushing that off,
not wanting to get into that bucket of worms. “I could show you
sometime? The shift I mean. I wouldn’t mind since you’re
curious.” He told Malachi since Eir was sure most would be
startled to see him suddenly shift. Only the elderly and purists
really retained their true forms before others. He was neither
so he liked this partially humana appearance.
“And the origin of that shape shifting came from—well we are
taught that our God Lothtor, one of the original True Dragons,
took this form and created our species with his Magis. But, a
scientific approach dictates that the exposure to turquoil
allowed the original Kymera, dragons, to change forms when they
blended with more humana based forms. It’s an ability passed
through my species and we can take any humana based form with
it. Even the Nou’Ara, or half-breeds, have the gene.” He stated
before his hand raised to touch one of the horns. “As for the
horns, they are genetically unique to me, so if I take this form
or my true form then, yes. They will always look like this. They
are mostly for gender displays and dominance really. Larger
horns curved like this are male drakes while females have
thinner more pointed horns. In Glapera you show your horns as a
sign of pride. But if I apply a bit of Magis and control...” He
paused and focused on his control, shutting his eyes briefly.
Malachi would see a bright glow take over Eir’s face that soon
faded away like dust on the wind. Left behind was a fresh faced
humana young man with dark curls and piercing golden eyes. “See?
Nothing to it! But we always retain these golden eyes. I could
even try to look like you but I wouldn’t be able to mimic your
skin tone, eyes, or hair color. So, if you ever see a drake in
Phonax, you can always tell a Draconian by their eyes.” He
tapped the side of his head and gave a bright smile since he
loved educating on biology and the like.
However, his brows furrowed in confusion at the question of how
much was always a dragon. What did that mean? His biology? “Well
I’m always me, a Draconian. The Magis in our genes can just
change some things but I can quickly revert back. Is that what
you’re getting at?” He asked with soft contemplation before
something seemed to click at the narrowed eyes view. Eir turned
bright red and he gave Malachi a light, non aggressive shove
with a hand.
“Bensvelk Lothtor-ith!” He snipped as he was flustered by the
topic of Draconian genitalia as that seemed to be where he was
going with that line of questioning. “We don’t always—Look,
anatomically speaking we shift to fit the situation or shape we
take—but I suppose we don’t have to—Can you imagine if—No don’t
imagine! Or if you are don’t tell me.” He was still red,
flustered completely as he looked away from Malachi to calm the
blush on his face.
“What about the Elvi?--Not that about Elvi as I don't--I mean--"
He gave a huff and calmed himself before speaking more clearly.
"I’ve read a few books that say you have some strange sensing
abilities? That it's kind of like a magical ability in battle.
And do your ears really hear more by being pointed?” He asked to
quickly change the topic off of his anatomy...

Malachi actually listened in interest at the information Eir was
giving him, only a little disappointment at the fact he couldn't
turn into a dragon seeping in. Then again, he was sure he would
have heard more about the Draconian people if they were all able
to transform into fire-breathing beasts. Wouldn't that be
overwhelming? An entire nation that could become dragons would
never be at threat of attack. Now he was sounding like the male
kin of his house; all about war and dominance. He let the offer
of being shown the Eir's shift lighten his mood again and he
gave and eager nod, "Mostly definitely. I'm sure its still a
fearsome sight to behold even if you won't become an ancient
beast of legend."
Malachi's mouth dropped a little agape as Eir simply made his
horns and couldn't help but pass his hand through the air where
they had been to test it. They were gone... Now, besides the
golden eyes, Eir looked much like a regular humana. It was quite
amazing really.
As Eir gave him a shove in embarrassment, he let out a deep
laugh, doubling over for a moment as Eir bumbled about with his
flustered answer. He eventually had caught onto what he'd been
implying and Malachi's curiosity was now quenched. Hey, he just
wanted to know out of genuine curiosity after all. The Elvi male
snorted in amusement when the question was turned on him.
"Not all Elvi are as well endowed as I" he chuckled as a joke
before going on to seriously answer the question.
"Hmmm, we do have heightened senses. It's not magic I don't
think, just traits we have. For example, our eyesight-"
Malachi glanced ahead into the distance, eye focusing on
something he thought Eir might not be able to see. He spotted a
stall about five streets down selling apples."From here I can
tell you the price of the apples that woman is selling and that
she is also wearing gold bracelets up her arms. Our eyesight is
akin to an eagle I would say. As for smell and taste? While
these senses are quite a deal higher than a humana, hearing and
sight are our most advanced"
He reached up to touch the tip of his ear with a finger and
hummed, "Perhaps the shape helps catch sound better? I'm not the
best person to ask... but I feel as though the shape makes
little difference. All these sensitivities in battle make us
quite quick, light and reflexive. Battle honed if you might"
Malachi rubbed the back of his neck in thought, and also to give
the pale skin a brief reprieve from the sunlight, "Is it
unacceptable to carry weapons? I'm used to having my rapier with
me, not out of fear that I'll be attacked it's just a cultural
accessory perhaps? I know how to use it but I was wondering what
your views were on... hmmm. War and peace I suppose and how that
is in your culture?"

Eir gave a bit of an awkward glance away when Malachi called him
a ‘fearsome sight’. Eir didn’t feel like he was all that
fearsome as he was hardly like the soldiers of Charir. They were
intimidating and dedicated their whole life to protecting
Glapera. “I don’t know about that. I’m not all that threatening.
I mean you’ve met me.” He said with a shy smile since he rather
liked being personable and kind. It was why he didn’t get
annoyed when Malachi began waving his hand around his face, gold
eyes bright and interested in what he was doing. Was he checking
to see if the horns were invisible? He gave a bit of a chuckle,
raising a brow at his friend’s curiosity. “They’re gone. I
promise. It’s Liph Magis.” He said as if it would explain the
whole thing.
Eir didn’t mind the laughter from Malachi as it wasn’t malicious
and he knew Mal had flustered him. It wasn’t hard to do. But, he
couldn’t help a chuckle that bubbled from him at his lips at the
well endowed joke. He covered his mouth as the joke was lude but
funny.
“Honestly I wish I had your confidence, Mal.” He chuckled before
he tilted his head in curiosity at his description of the Elvi
senses. His eyes widened a bit in surprise when he was able to
see that far, Eir squinting to see if he could see it as well.
He couldn’t of course and that was a strange thing for him.
Glaperan’s always thought the Elvi were just weaker but that
appeared to be not completely true. After all, fast reflexes
could turn a blade, no matter how skilled the wielder. Could
these heightened senses also play a role in the idea that Elvi
have certain resistances and immunities to disease like
Draconians? He wouldn’t go into that since it seemed too
clinical for a conversation with a man who didn’t seem all that
interested in the sciences. Eir was content letting the topic
switch with the knowledge he would have to research further to
get his answers.
The question about carrying a weapon made Eir frown some, mostly
in thought and some in slight reservation. Not because weapons
were a bad thing in Glapera, but because people often didn’t use
them. After all, they turned into large fire breathing dragons.
But, peace and prosperity was the main concern of a Draconian on
their shores, but that stood in stark contrast to the soldier
class and the Taq-Turnock of the confederacy. They lived more
violent lives and liked to push those boundaries of what peace
really was. To them, there could be no peace until the day
Draconians were the supreme species and all foreigners were
cleared from their shores. It was why Eir was to not let Malachi
out of his sight and why the servant was with them. Malachi had
a large target on his back with a few people in this city that
saw him and his kind as the enemy…
“Carrying a weapon isn’t against the law. Most don’t but
wouldn’t bat an eye at you carrying one as long as you don’t
draw it against someone. Most of us are trained in battle to
defend the homeland if the need ever arose so some do choose to
carry weapons. Besides, a rapier isn’t as ostentatious as a
battle axe or greatsword so it will blend nicely.” He said
before chewing his lip a moment. He was told by his father to
keep talk of negativity surrounding Malachi’s visit to a
minimum, but Eir felt it right to at least warn his new friend.
It couldn’t hurt to make the man at least a bit
cautious...Right? “As for war and peace in Glapera, in my
country war is to be avoided unless it is necessary. We see more
prosperity with Peace and lose senseless lives and money in war.
We’ve only had a few wars in our history and we wish to avoid
it. However, some in our nation are not as...open minded. They
prefer our days of isolation from the other races and have very
strong views on foreigners...Most don’t share these views but
the few that do believe them strongly. It’s why I recommend you
sticking around my family and I when exploring the city. A
rapier is perhaps not a bad idea for you either.” He said before
he felt a bit ashamed to admit that some of his people could be
barbaric and cruel just because someone wasn’t Draconian.
“What about Phonax? If you carry weapons with you culturally are
your people more inclined to war? Also how does Phonax get along
with everyone else in the world?” He asked to change the subject
from unsavory things

"Ah Eir, confidence is not always justifiable. Sometimes it's a
bluff" he said simply on that comment.
Malachi felt a little bit of a heavy feeling settle in his
stomach when Eir subtly let him know that some people really
didn't like foreigners. He could tell it was actually quite
serious by the way the drake only lightly dipped into that
aspect of the conversation. An irregularity if his previous
conversations were anything to go by; he wasn't one shy on
expanding upon his thoughts. The Elvi male had brought his own
rapier but left it back at the Aluanas estate, the reason being
that he was not sure of their policies. But now that he knew...
perhaps next time they went out it would be wise to bring it
with him. After all, it wouldn't harm to be armed.
It was odd to listen to the way these people thought of war; a
last ditch effort to protect their own. He could understand why
though; wars were costly not only in resources but in peoples
lives. Malachi was no fool, and though his father and brother
relished at only several hundred lives lost, he still saw it as
several hundred lives lost. Several hundred families without a
father, several hundred or more wives and children in mourning
for a simple conquest. He casually kicked his foot at the dusty
road they walked along as he constructed an answer.
"I wouldn't say our people are more inclined to war, but holding
a weapon is almost like a mark of maturity or manhood. If you
can't defend yourself, what kind of man are you. We aren't war
mongers, but our lands are not exactly averse to war if it
achieves a goal. Being in the military is an honour, serving in
war is a great honour and dying in war is of the highest honour"
He thought of the yearly festival they had now in Phonax that
celebrated the lives of those who had fallen for their country.
Malachi thought the intention was right, but the sentiment
directed in the wrong way. It should be a day of mourning and
sorrow, not just another excuse for a feast.
"As for our relations with other lands? Of course, every nation
thinks they are the best; the Elvi are no different in that
regard. We're often snobbish, much as I hate to admit but we get
along with most peoples. Since we are such a large presence in
the trading industry, people have to like us unless they want
their economy to spiral into ruin"
Malachi looked to Eir "My older brother is in the army, quite
high up actually. My parents are very proud of this fact and
often show his letters home to others. They really do adore him"
he said it honestly, also proud of his brother but swallowing
the bitterness when he thought of the contrast in the way their
parents treated them.
His ears pricked up when they had reached a certain area in the
city; a place that seemed to lessen in people wandering the
streets. Those who did walked with purpose or walked as though
dizzy. His eyes couldn't read any of the signs etched with
Vs'Shtak but he noted with interest similar sounds one heard at
a bar. Drinking and rowdy laughter, the high-pitched giggle of a
forced laugh and the clink of coins alongside rattling dice.
"What is along that way?" he asked, gesturing with his hand.

Eir's lips twitched into a frown at the idea that Malachi was
just putting on a show with his confidence. No, there was
definitely some truth to his bravado. Eir had seen fake
confidence before in other Draconian's and it was quite obvious.
He rather liked that confidence in Malachi and would try to have
a bit of it himself. Perhaps a bit of that confidence came from
his society. They seemed to like appearing masculine with
weapons and such. It wasn't all that different than the city
state Charir, where the soldier's of Glapera took on the last
name "Glapera" to show that they were an extension of their
homeland. It was an honor, but not one that was pushed to
extremes in war. The biggest concern of the Draconian nation was
preservation. To lose one Draconian life was cause for mourning,
no matter if it was justifiable due to protecting the homeland.
The stark contrast of those thoughts made Eir wonder what life
must have been like for an Elvi male in Malachi's home. Was it
filled with societal pressures to be something more or perhaps
extrememly bent towards changing yourself to fit what society
wanted? These were all speculations he would never ask Malachi,
but he would keep in the back of his mind. He gave a nod at the
mention that most countries thought themsleves the best, but he
was rather surprised to hear him call his people snobs and
bullies with trade. Eir quickly shook his head with a sincere
frown.
"You're not snobbish. In fact you've been very kind and
accepting for someone who's never been here before. I'm sure
being elitist is only a few of your people and not the
majority." He said since if Malachi was this nice, it didn't
make sense for the rest of his people to be rude.
News of his brother being in the military made Eir's brows lift
in surprise. "Oh, that must be a very admirable thing, to have a
brother so willing to help his land. I always wanted a sibling.
It must be sad to be apart from him so much." He said since he
could only imagine that it must have been scary to send a
sibling off into danger and then furthermore sad to not get to
see him. "Do you want to go into the military too? Or trading?
Or something else?" He asked since he knew from his own
experiences that he couldn't exactly pick what he wanted to do
with his life but perhaps Malachi could.
The question about what was down that street made Eir make a
small face, one that was a bit aversive but not disgusted. An
expression more edging on more unease since he was often warned
against going near this part of the city. Had he really gotten
so distracted in his talking to wander into the seedier areas of
the city. Still they were safe, but Eir did know that they could
get into trouble if they stuck around or stuck their noses into
things they shouldn't. "Well, this is the area where most of the
taverns, smoke lounges, gambling houses, and--well--illicit
entertainment is. It's not necessarily a bad place until you get
further down near the impoverished quarters. My grandmother has
always said to avoid these places, as no good can ever come of
it. To be honest I've never even seen the inside of one." He
told Malachi since he wasn't quite sure what went on beyond
those doors. He didn't want to give misinformation after all.
"Do they not have places like this in Phonax?"
