:) I am interested in knowing more about this beautiful art.
Would help motivation if you would show us some of your
beautiful work and also add some instruction videos...Some of us
can't afford a sand etcher so maybe include some less expensive
ideas. Ideas on costs and pricing and marketing.
Great idea to add this site! Looking forward to visiting often!

OK so the only other method would be cream etching if you don't
want to or cant afford a sand etching system. You can still make
your stencils out of vinyl and apply like a decal, and put the
cream on heavy. So far I have tried Amour Etching Cream, and
Martha Stewarts etching cream which is made by Plaid paints, and
to be honest I prefer Martha Stewarts it seems to etch better.
As for sand blasting unit all you would need is a $15 kit that
you can get at Menards or even maybe other hardware store has,
and buy the media in 50Ibs bags of aluminum oxide, make a home
made blast cabinet and an air compressor. Now that's only if
your planning on doing big projects. You can still make a blast
cabinet, but buy an air eraser by Paasche Harbor freight and
tool sells one also, then there is Badgers Hobby Sandblaster.
Prices vary where you purchase them. They come with some
aluminum oxide, the only difference is the Air eraser and ther
Paasche are top fed where the badger is syphon fed.

Started building my blast cabinet from 50 gal plastic drum,
frame was cut this weekend, have design in head and on paperw,
vent for dust with oversized wet/dry vac, the etching I have
collected enough alum oxide to give a good go, my stencil's will
come from my vinyl cutter LP II......Its that I gotta finish it
first...Oh...have read that for best operation to have a 2-3-4
hp compressor, oil fed too, air wont cut it for long durrational
use.

petro I built mine out of wood and barely use it I made it to
tall I didn't figure in the casters. So I'm looking at what Arty
did with a plastic wash basin and plexi glass.

the parts, and plans to do so.

Well wait till I get this TANKER built, gave up on 50 gal drum
to go to this tanker, worked on frame with casters, want it 24"
off ground, will cut some of the framing away then cut a entry,
wife is sewing my britches to some arm length gloves and well
you can figure it out...Nice to start something without all the
redderick of those who know everything and act like they are
king nothing....Thats why I simply stopped going to those
places...

petro sounds like at 24" you will be sitting while etching? I
over looked certain things when I made my blast cabinet. I
forgot about the caster height and well its way to tall and I
sort of want to sit now when I etch.

Cut the frame away. now to measure door and plexi window, then
arm ports, found the compressor and have plenty of hose,
abrasive and several gun/eraser elements..gonna work on it this
weekend..
