Welcome to World of Aeterna! Read me first!
To start, what the heck is World of Aeterna!?
Ok, great, but why are you an 'RP' server, what does that mean?
RP stands for Role Play. As in, Role Play Game. Basically, you
pretend to be the person in the game.
'Yes it's geeky, yes it's fun.' In game, we ask you to act as if
what you're doing is real, it adds a layer of complexity yes,
but we have found it leads to better interactions, more fun, and
generally keeps us all amused for longer, which is what a game
       is for, isn't it?
Act like it's real? Can you give me any examples?
Well, for starters, don't go talking about the fact it's a game
       on system chat!
In public chats on the game, we expect you to act like you are
really in the world. This means no "I'm being hit by NPC's!", no
"lol"s or smiley faces in system chat.
       The heck is an NPC?!
A non-player character. A Person controlled by the server.
Ok, but what if I desperately have to say something that a
       regular pilot wouldn't say?
Good question. On the whole, we try and keep things in RP, but
sometimes we do need to go OORP (Out of Role Play).
When this needs to be done, it's usually best to PM (Private
       Message) a player.
This can be done by opening up the chat menu, /tell <playername>
       <message>
On the super rare event you need to publicly say something out
of RP, or even in group chats and private messages, you should
put a double slash in front of your message, like so:
Dave: //Hey Chriss, did you get a chance to check your Skype
       yet?
       I'm sure there's more...
Not too much. The aim here is to give you enough info to not get
into trouble. If I told you everything here it would take the
       fun out of the game.
What's the difference between unofficial and official
       factions/towns/nations?
Unofficial factions are the ideas of people on the forums.
They are free to make, but have no power to speak on behalf of
       the NPC group.
Official factions have paid 1 billion Fe for the priveledge of
       being an Official group.
There can only be one official group per NPC faction and X block
       radius.
The Official group owns the town/city and and can restrict who
enters it if they wish, plus have the right to affect how people
       in that faction/town/city act
Can you give me any tips on being succesful?
To start, don't set your sights too high straight away.
You are unlikely to be accepted until you know the community a
       little better.
Also, use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Appearing intelligent can go a long way, and make sure you're
polite and not an idiot on the forums (being interesting helps
       too).
Once people get to know you a little better, and you've proved
you can be trusted with the role play of that faction without
abusing it, you will have a better shot of getting in.
Ok, awesome. I've just made my first character and have spawned
at the Temple of Azure... what do I do!?
I suggest you walk around and try to get the feeling of the
       world.
You can take the boat to the south to go to the mainland, where
you can try to find some work and try to get your own house and
little place to get things going.
Are there any other interesting commands I should know?
There sure are, here's a quick run down:
       In front of your message:
/g Put in front of text to speak in general/global chat.
/l or /lc Put in from of text to speak in local chat
/tc Put in from of text to speak with members of your town only
/nc Put in from of text to speak with members of your nation
       only
/res set mode reset Reset chat mode to default chat.
/fe to see your current balance
/money to see your current balance
/fe send [name] [amount] - This will send fe to another player.
/fe top - This displays the top 5 richest players.
/fe help - This displays the commands a player has access too.
       Anything else I should do?
Read the rules. They're long and boring, and can be condensed
into 'Use some common sense and be nice to others', but
       obviously that's a little vague.
They can be found on the forums. Also, read some of the sanction
reports, it will help you understand what others have done
       wrong.
I'm scared of accidentally breaking a rule!
Most of the time, people will know that you're just new and not
sure yet and will help you instead of reporting you.
It's ok, it's just a game. The admins seem scary but really
they're just cuddley bears who just want a hug. If you see an
admin, just give them a hug.
Right, I hope this helped, if you have any questions, there is a
thread in the Welcome Section with a list of people who have
       offered to help new players
Best of luck to you, and welcome to the World of Aeterna, I hope
       you enjoy it here.
Also, if you have any questions you'd like added to this or
answered, please just post here and I'll get back to you as soon
       as I can!
