The real Delgren seemed to interject himself into the situation
within the dungeon with an ease that could be easily mistaken as
unsettling if not for his clear competence with the tasks at
hand when compared to his supposed counter part who had aided
the adventures earlier; or rather his "Impostor" as the demoness
introduced simply as 'Tyre' had continually corrected others
including Zhala and Crow. The paladin knight had an odd aura
about him, perhaps it was due to his conflicting nature of being
both a man of the cloth and a warlock; all be it far from the
traditional sense, as Marshmellow had mentioned. He working
closely, very closely alongside his supposed Patron. She even
went so far as to both take a sip from the man's coffee mug,
then heating it before gingerly handing it back as he poured
over more paperwork. Most of which lay scattered upon the desk
of the nobleman turned occultist, who now lay dead on the floor
within the ring in which Del had written out Infernal etchings
in chalk before "interviewing" the man in question, leading to
him taking his own life. All of which the Knight seemed unphased
by, further confirming his claimed 'familiarity' with occult
       studies.
Upon looking at the man, his features seemed to come to light,
even in the light of a torch his eyes were encircled by dark
rings as if he hadn't had a good nights sleep in a long, long
while. This seemed to explain the seemingly constant stream of
strong coffee the man consumed without batting an eye. It was
clear he looked to be a human, roughly in his late thirties to
early forties with thick medium brown hair that had the faintest
hint of auburn undertone. His jaw held the making of a beard
that was growing in but seemingly well kept aside from the
spareness on left side where an old scar remained, perhaps as
injury from a mace or maul based on it's shape. A second scar
ran horizontally across the bridge of his nose framing his hazel
eyes. A stern gaze lay fixed upon the papers that rest in one
hand as he poured over his own notes in what looked to be a
weighty leather bound tome filled with leaflets and papers
filled with strange sigils and scrawling detailed notes on every
margin of the pages bound between its worn covers. Slivers of
what could be assumed were page markers littered it's edges with
various ribbons as he thumbed through it as if searching for
anything of relevance before making their move deeper into the
       catacombs.

This job certainly had its shares of unclear points but at this
rate it was just getting messy. One of their members was lying
about their identity and only came clean when they clearly
couldn't keep up with their counter parts. Not only that, but
the involvement of cultists and Vecna only served to further
       complicate matters.
No wonder he offered us a house. Crow thought bitterly, scolding
himself for falling into such an obvious scam.
It couldn't be helped and the show had to go on, especially if
the dangers they were believed to be facing now were the actual
deific figures they were claiming to be themselves. You got
yourself into this mess, Crow lectured in his head, now you have
to get yourself out... and maybe these others too. It wouldn't
be right to ditch them and let them fend for themselves, not to
mention he would only be on his own then, all the way wherever
he was now. It was clear he was stuck here one way or another
until this situation is worked out.
Crow finally pulled down the face mask he wore since joining the
group. A surprisingly welcoming face met the glances of everyone
else. While under the mask, Crow's large eyes looked alien or
worrisome but framed in by the rest of his features, and they
had an air of softness among them. A soft, boyish face marred
with scars and maturity shown out to the rest of the group. As
one peered closer beneath the obvious scars and facial lines
worn into his visage, Crow had smooth yet chiseled features that
gave him an aristocratic air fogged by a persistent anguish that
always gave his face a worried or anxious expression.
"I feel as though I should apologize for how I began working
with all of you. I, foolishly assumed this "job" would be as
easy as it was advertised but, clearly, that rarely happens. If
we are going to be moving forward with this as a team, I would
like you all to know I now consider you comrades for as long as
this job takes or until I'm dead, whichever comes first.
Basically, I want to say I'm ready to be part of the team and
work with you, and that means making sure you stay safe." Crow,
having said his piece, popped back down from the barrel he had
hopped onto, and also removed his hood.
Streams of silver hair cascaded out of Crow's hood as shoulder
length, loosely curled locks began to settle into place. Crow
patiently tied back his hair in a traditional braided knot,
offering any of his newfound comrades time to approach him in a
       more personable manner.

Del finally looked up from his studies as Crow spoke for the
first time addressing the group as a whole rather than the sum
of its parts. The Knight listened quietly as the elven man
spoke, revealing his full face as a formal introduction. Perhaps
the knowledge that secrets could potentially carry power against
them within this place was sinking in.... Del certainly knew it
was. "Things are rarely as they seem, though I must say the job
in question hasn't changed, merely the circumstances surrounding
it. Lord Neverember hired on individuals to retrieve important
people of note here in Neverwinter. In exchange those
individuals were promised an estate upon their safe return.
Simple in theory; It just so happens that the reasons for why
they were taken tie into more nefarious plots. That is just
unfortunate circumstances I'm afraid..." A frown crossed his
face for a moment as he felt the need to clarify a few things.
"As of this time I do not believe that Lord Neverember knew of
the prior connections these nobles had to all of this before
seeking our help and everyone I've spoken to that was held
captive seemed to have, what I believe was important information
they were withholding in some way. That in turn seems to align
with what he spoke of." He said motioning to the motionless
cultist leader's corpse. "It seems they had plans to extract the
information from those individuals as some form of ritual
sacrifice, an offering to their god." Del sounded less than
impressed with his last statement, the disdain was palpable.
"As I said before, the reason we were chosen was not random. It
was calculated by a clairvoyant to bring us here as those that
they believed would be best suited for the task... as with all
divination it's always in flux with too many variables to pin
down specifics. It just seems that the 'task' in question that
brought us together is in fact tied into the less savory
elements that lie beneath the surface of this whole operation.
What we do after finishing out the job for Lord Neverember will
need to be addressed, but I imagine everyone will have their
reasons for, or against continuing which is their right. I on
the other hand will be seeing this through." His final words
held a certain resolve that his prior explanations had not.
"That being said, we'll need all the help we can get if we plan
       to succeed."

Now that his hood was removed, it was very clear to the group
that Crow had a very obvious tell. As Delgren began to expertly
break down the situation at large, Crow's slender, pointed ears
twitched like he was a meerkat on lookout duty. Blissfully
unaware, Crow's tired, slightly reddened eyes honed in on what
Del was saying, over analyzing each word intently, causing him
to lose focus on how his ears were acting. They truly resembled
a chameleon's eyes, maneuvering themselves to best catch the
precious sounds they were focused on.
All the while, Crow's face was chiseled into a deeply serious
       scowl while he listened.
"I already went to the trouble to get this far, I suppose we can
talk about it more deeply while we split the earnings from that
pretty harp." Crow's shoulders shrugged as his ears bent
backward in a disarming way. Each and every member of the
group's eyes followed with Crow's ears, they were only met back
       with Crow's response: "What?"

Del became the absolute picture of composure trying to keep as
straight a face as possible as he watched the man's ears. Huh,
guess that explains the need for the hood. He thought to
himself, certain he heard Tyre stifle a laugh. He'd been around
elves before and knew they had sensitive ears and muscles to
move them a bit; Tyre once stated that they were also often an
endogenous zone, something he learned against his will and
didn't really want to think about in this moment.... Pushing
those less than helpful thoughts out of his head Del simple
cleared his throat and continued breaking the small awkward
pause. "Right, the harp. Well, you can sell it after we leave
here if you wish." He seemed a bit indifferent about the
prospect of profit, it seemed he was still a rather straight
laced paladin despite the debate of what type he may be or the
       gods chose to serve.
"For now let's just focus on the job at hand and getting out of
here as safely as possible." There was a tiny hint of genuine
concern in his rather casual demeanor as he glanced around the
room from person to person, his gaze finally settling on Tyre
for a moment longer than the others before he straightened up
and gave a nod. "I'll even buy you lot your first round at the
tavern for the mix up earlier as an apology." He said regarding
the odd impostor mucking this up to begin with, for the first
time he felt like he was beginning to understand the need for a
drink after a long difficult day... "Maybe I'll even join you
for it." He added absentmindedly before tidying away the loose
papers from the desk into his tome, prepping for the their
       departure deeper into the catatombs.

Even with the best nights sleep he had in years, the unexpected
family reunion from hell wasn't how he expected breakfast with
everyone would play out; At worst Del half expected Crow to
drink, Marshmallow to eat fifths or something but what
transpired left everyone a bit shaken, even Tyre. The last week
respectively, for those who hadn't plane traveled, had been a
lot. There was no way to mince words about the difficult matters
at hand but Del was doing his best to be of some comfort both
for her and those who were coming into this with even less
preparation than himself. He couldn't afford to fall apart now.
Too many people were depending on this... today's run in with
Tyre's sister and her all be it slightly desperate message from
Asmodeus to Tyre was an unfortunate result of just how much was
riding on their success; that even a betrayer god such as him
       wished them success.
That thought alone was enough to make his stomach want to heave
all of it's contents onto the palace suites floor. Everything
else compiling into the uneasiness that had settled over him
since Ryn had first brought he AND Tyre before the Arcana
Pansophical. How was this hodge-podged group of down on their
luck adventure supposed to contend with a threat like Vecna? No
one here deserved to shoulder the weight of such a
responsibility and he wished he could relieve them from such a
       burden.
Del found himself distracted during their meeting with Lord
Neverember; rewards were given to group though he had little
interest he remained polite and respectfully accepted. Going
through the motions as it were, it sadly didn't feel all that
different than how things were before being freed of the modify
memory spell which made him begin to wonder just how much of his
life he had trudged onward without giving most things a second
thought. Just how much of himself had been shuffled away to the
far recesses of his mind? Muffled, dampened. He had to let these
thoughts and concerns go and lay the past to rest. The wound was
fresh like a scab that had been picked over and over but now,
now it was time to let it breathe and heal. The only thing that
would benefit him now was time, a distraction and a perhaps a
       tiny bit of healing magic.
Stepping out of Castle Never, Del absentmindedly muttered under
his breath about the translation within the naming system of
this city as he ran a hand through his hair; another one of the
things Tyre had mentioned upon bringing up how translations over
time can become a mess much like the core of his tenants. What
other twisted truths did this world or the next offer, he
couldn't help but wonder for a moment lost in thought. Del could
feel the warm sun of the sword coast on his face as he closed
his eyes pausing for a moment. The midday sun seemed to catch
the undertones of auburn that was buried within his thick dark
hair, enhancing it in the light. The circles that normally had
encompassed his eyes had lessened and lightened giving way to a
warm skin tone that seemed to suit the balmy climate of
Neverwinter, in turn breathing life back into the man and making
him seem less aged than before as he stood there silently taking
in his surroundings. Around him he could hear the idle chatter
of the others, Zhalla and Throfer speaking about their potential
new residences and the soft jingling of coins as Crow hefted his
sum of the fortune in his hands seemingly pleased as the elf
questioned Marshmallow where the two should go first.
If only things could stay this simple forever.

was a a sincere thank you from the king and suddenly the group
found themselves shuffled back into their temporary lodgings,
       pondering what came next.
For a moment, Crow was hypnotized by the weight of so much gold
and how comparatively light the deed to his new home was. If
only it wasn't so emotionally heavy to be presented something
with which you never thought you would have again... or deserve.
Home. The word echoed in Crow's mind and images of his mother
and sister flooded into his thoughts. They were so far away now
and safer, so why can't I stop worrying about them? Crow thought
to himself, his voice a harsh critic.
Just when the shrieking sound of panic began clawing its way to
the forefront of Crow's mind, he locked eyes with Del. As soon
as their eyes met, Crow leapt into a new train of thought.
"What's the matter?" Crow jested. "Were you hoping for more?"
His hand gestured to the coinpurse setting beside Del that
appeared to be literally bursting at the seams. Crow's patterns
began to stand out more and more, it became clearer why he would
often insert himself into situations, regardless of the
potential outcomes: It was so he could curb his mind from the
gnawing guilt that he couldn't escape, like a predator always
behind him, ready to make its next attack.

"Hmm?" Del seemed at first puzzled, his mind clearly elsewhere
before registering Crow's prodding jest. "Oh, no. Nothing like
that...." Del paused as if catching himself; normally this is
where he would politely bat away at other's attempts to interact
with him beyond surface talk but now he found himself
hesitating. Teetering on the edge of that rut, for the first
time staring downward into it, accepting it and choosing to step
over his usual routines. "I just.. The circumstances of
receiving this all feel... moot. A home in Neverwinter feels bit
impractical. Even in my line of work... having a vacation home
       without having a proper homestead feels even less practical;
dimensional jumping aside." His brow furrowed, a look of sullen
disappointment passing over his face like a cloud floating by
before it softened and disappeared. "I'm sorry. I don't mean to
bring down the celebrations, they're well deserved. You should
all be enjoying them." Especially considering the road ahead.
His heart weighed heavy. He missed Whitestone... more now than
ever. Even surrounded by all of these new faces, he began to
feel very much alone. This was not unlike what he imagined the
Lonely Sorrowsworn felt long before it was slain, with such a
deep need for companionship. Yet here he was unable to receive
it by his own volitions. Is that why he was so frightened by the
       idea of her leaving?
After another moment of pause Del continued to push through
despite the difficulty he felt in reaching out further. "Do you
have any plans on what to do with your newly acquired domicile."
There was an air of humor stung about his formality, like tinsel
wrapped around newl post. The smallest of smiles reached his
eyes glinting as he let a brief chuckle leave his lips. "It
seems you were looking for a fresh start of sorts, so perhaps
you'll be better suited than I for a city such as Neverwinter.
All the same I'd like to hear what everyone has planned perhaps
over drinks." His last statement surprised even himself.

At the word "drink" Crow's attention fully snapped back to the
conversation he had begun with Del. "Now that is a good fuc!ing
plan." Crow snickered as he nodded in agreement. "I've never
been to Neverwinter," Crow said with a shrug. "So if anyone
wants to take the lead here, be my guest." His head swiveled
around the room, looking for anyone with some experience of this
city, or any city for that matter.
Without allowing a single response, Crow snapped his fingers,
announcing an ammendment. "That being said... if none of us know
where we are going, we could simply make way to the nearest new
home, take a tour, then hit the nearest tavern. Then: rinse and
repeat." He gave a swat of his hands, feeling as though wherever
they were headed next, it would at least involve some liquor,
and in that, Crow felt some comfort already.

There was a slight twinge of regret in making the suggestion
after Crow's intense enthusiasm seemed to carry the tone, though
he had to admit his plan didn't sound all that terrible. This
was of course despite the elf seemingly wanting to turn the
venture into what Del could only assume would be a glorified pub
crawl, with Crow mapping out the quickest route to a safe place
to crash from tavern to tavern along the way. Clever if that was
his intent, even Del could appreciate that much forethought.
"Well I suppose, first round is still on me; as promised. Better
a week late than never." He said in a fainthearted attempt to
make a joke and include the others in the comradery.
"I'm in." He said with more certainty, maybe this would give him
a unique chance to see other sides of his new found traveling
companions and give him a better understanding of the types of
people they are along with some insight into how he fits into
all of it, though first he wanted to change out of the more
formal attire he was wearing into something more comfortable if
they were going to be gallivanting about and sight seeing. Maybe
       this wasn't all bad.
