Weather Poll - Vanilla

If you use the Vanilla server, I'd appreciated your input!

Weather on the server has its pro's and cons. It gives natural
effect to the worlds, yet can cause some people lag. It brings
snow to the world, yet the rain can be annoying.
I would like to know how you feel about the weather on the
server. Should we leave it as it is? Or should we get rid of
it? I will let the majority decided. Poll will expire on
03-15-2012.

I voted on the main server with some feedback. However, here on
the Semi-Vanilla server I feel much more strongly about leaving
the weather on.
Rain can cause lag, which is an issue with some players, I know.
It's a part of the game, though. It's not only cosmetic,
either. It waters my crops! It makes the game more challenging
sometimes. Anytime the game can be made more challenging, even
if just a little bit, I feel more inclined to play it. Once
things get too easy, I can get bored.
Also, I do enjoy a rainy day.

My vote's on keeping it. I actually have a lower spec computer
(have to play on short render distance) and the weather effects
don't cause enough lag to really notice even when I put the
particle effects all the way up. And like Prd30 said, it's a
part of survival multiplayer. So I feel it should stay in.
Plus, it'll never snow if the weather effects were taken off.

[/quote]True. But the enormousness of quantity in terms of
weather is overbearing. If we could have it still there but to a
lesser frequency that would be superb.

Unfortunately, thats not an option. Would be nice to be able to
set up something like that. But I have never seen anything that
will do that... other than manually starting and stopping
weather.

I vote on leaving the weather on. As you might all know.. I like
playing the game it was meant to be played... if it includes
rain, so be it.
