Patchpaw lied on her back outside the medicine den, letting the
hot sun warm her belly. The medicine cat apprentice enjoyed the
heat of the sun's rays beating down on her short, tortoiseshell
fur. Smiling, she shifted in her little spot until she was
comfortable. Slowly closing her eyes, she drifted off into a
doze, her tail tip twitching.

Arrowstar had been tending to his choice of deputy, and was
pretty stressed out. Leaders are always stressed, arent' they?
He supposed so, letting out a small sigh. At least his medicine
cats were doing a good job. Speaking of the healers, the grey
tom spotted Patchpaw. She looked a little bored. Maybe all her
work was already done? He didnt' know much about herbs, but she
did, and maybe she just needed help. "Hey, Patchpaw. How's it
going?"

Patchpaw's eyes flew open when she heard her name. The medicine
cat apprentice arched her back in a stretch, yawning. "Hi
Arrowstar!" the young tortoiseshell greeted her leader as she
trotted over to him.

The lean tom smiled at the apprentice. He was pretty proud of
her, considering she knew so much this early into her
apprenticeship. "You like the medicine cat apprentice job?"
Arrowstar was sure of her answer, of course she liked it! She
had been the one begging to be promoted.

Patchpaw nodded vigorously, grinning widely. "Oh yes! Funhouse
is such a great mentor!" she mewed happily. Then something came
into the apprentice's mind. She hadn't seen Funhouse since this
morning. I wonder where she is. the small she-cat thought,
tilting her head.

"I bet." Purred Metropoliskamikaze.
The slim but muscular warrior trotted over to them, sleek tail
swishing back and forth. His copper eyes gleamed in amusement at
the sight of Arrowstar speaking with Patchpaw.
