The casual agnostic in the corner has come in to alert all to a
passage that, in a nutshell, says "Love overrides sin" I can't
remember the exact wording but it's there.

whoops I think I might be a bit late but I'll try to not stoke
       the fires any more
I'm not quite an avid supporter LGBTQ+; I support the idea that
everyone is equal. I don't think homosexuality is a sin, because
sexuality is something someone is born with. The "choice" in
       homosexuality is either:
       -You come out
       -You keep it hidden
Either way, you're still homosexual. God created you that way
       for a reason. That's why I don't think it's a sin. Sinning is an
action, not something someone is born with.
Just my two cents, in a hopefully not too long post
P.S. Angel, which Testament are those verses from?

One thing I don't get about why Christianity is against
homosexuality is because I don't see why it's wrong. Stuff that
Christianity is against like stealing and killing is obviously
wrong, because it causes people pain and displeasure. But it
doesn't make sense for homosexuality to be a sin, since it
       doesn't offend anyone.
Also, how are you sure your interpretation of the bible is
correct and someone else's is false? Wouldn't they think you're
wrong, and you think they're wrong, so how can you prove you're
       really right?
Also, Angel, not everything you said about LGBTQ is correct. It
isn't a choice, and any LGBTQ person could tell you that. That
it is a decision is your opinion, and not a very reliable one at
       that.

Aether still feels awkward as an LGBTQ+ christian
I personally don't view LGBTQ+ stuff as sin. At my church (and
almost all churches in my area) LGBTQ+ people are accepted and
big parts of the community. Being LGBTQ+ doesn't harmfully
affect anyone, it doesn't has any real reason to qualify as a
sin. Being lesbian, gay, bisexual, pansexual, or any other sexual
orientation doesn't matter. It's still just love, and God would
never make Love a sin. Being transgender, genderfluid, agender,
or anything but your biological sex isn't a sin either. All it
means is that you identify as a different gender, it isn't
hurting anyone, or turning your back on god. LGBTQ+ isn't a
choice either, it's part of who you are.
You also state "In the bible, it clearly states that
homosexuality is wrong, and that it IS a sin (and I totally love
how people ignore those verses in the Bible, and state the ones
that "support" LGBT+ and Homosexuality [Which they actually
don't, because those people are just twisting the perception of
those verses])". This is also false in my opinion. As I find
that many statements that state that homosexuality is wrong, are
twisted around. People can interpret the same sentences very
differently. You may see the verses that support LGBTQ+ as
false, but I see the verses as true and see verses against
LGBTQ+ as false. There is no way to really tell what exactly the
bible says, everyone must interpret it for themselves.

honestly an issue with this is that you're trying to drive other
people of their personal freedoms like people should be able to
choose their religion and sexual orientation

This thread may be dead and maybe I am bringing up a sore
subject, but nothing in the world has made me more angry than
this. I'm not going to attack you. I just want you to know that
you have hurt and infuriated me. I just want you to know that
your beliefs are not innocent of pain.

I hope I'm not bringing up old conflicts or fanning any flames,
but I'm a Christian, and I've read some of Paul's verses
regarding how homosexuality is wrong. For me, I feel like I
shouldn't support homosexuality because the Bible says so, but
at the same time, I feel like God should have a purpose for
homosexuals. I'm pretty sure they're simply born this way and
it's not a choice, and I don't see why God would make it like
this, making some people inevitably sin so much more easily than
others. So I'm hoping that Paul was either wrong (he was a man,
too!) or that the Bible was misinterpreted/mistranslated. After
all, Paul only discusses homosexuality when he is also talking
about other sexual sins (I think), so maybe the original script
wasn't "You should not perform sexually immoral actions, and you
should not be homosexual" and instead was something like "You
should not perform sexually immoral actions AND doing it with
someone of the same gender doesn't make it okay, so it's still a
sin either way." (do you get what I mean by that? Like he was
trying to say that you can't do this to someone of the opposite
gender, but you can't wiggle out of it by doing it to someone of
the same gender.) However, at the same time, I feel really bad
for typing this because I feel like I'm violating and disobeying
God and I shouldn't be slandering the Bible such.
HELLO EDIT 27/5/2020: FIRSTLY, i now know the difference between
gender and sex, so excuse that uh. mess. secondly, i still stand
by the fact that lgbtq+ people are born with their orientation,
and it just doesn't make sense to me that it would be a sin to
be born with something that you have no control over. my views
on homosexuality being a sin are basically what chan said a few
posts above. i don't think that paul was wrong in his writings
or that they were mistranslated, but i do think that several
people misinterpret his writings and they think that he was
saying homosexuality is wrong when he wasn't actually. i have
some more opinions on this, but i don't particularly feel like
sharing them here. just uh. don't judge by my 2018 opinions. i'd
like to consider myself fairly open-minded on this subject so
talk with me on discord or something if there's anything you
       feel you should tell me.
