[That's a big image]
These nights were dark. I walk the streets, the moonlight
casting a faint shadow, walking alongside me. The stars twinkled
over the black canvas. My red and gold scarf floated after me. I
kept sensing someone behind me, yet there was no one there. I
must be paranoid. I hugged myself, rubbing my long sleeves to
keep myself warm.
I wanted to touch the walls beside me, to understand the
history of this strange place. Yet I know I was being tailed. I
must lose them fast.
I broke out into a run, my vision switching involuntarily. The
walls became clear, and I saw that they were abandoned. The
trees appeared to be fake, for there were no veins within them,
nor roots under the ground. I looked behind, and I saw a
skeletal figure after me. I hope it was just my vision affecting
it, and not that it was an actual skeleton.
Now assured of my danger, I turned off my vision and continued
running.
My hearing then turned on. There was a loud pop, but I heard
nothing. There should be something. A whisper from the past.
There was none to be heard.
I raced on. I could see the forest up ahead.
