       [FEAST] Fate of the Ages
By: Haurchefant Date: August 12, 2022, 9:10 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Haurchefant had felt much better after finally getting some much
needed rest and now that it was nearing the evening of the day
after the hatching, it was time to celebrate the first gold
clutch of Westwind and newly made weyrlings. It was of course a
formal gathering, so Haurchefant was wearing his nice black suit
with his gold knots accenting the gold marks on his outfit. It
was a pretty skin tight number and he thought he looked nice in
       it.
He had a table full of knots, one for each of the new weyrlings
and would present them to each as he introduced them to his
council, that was sitting at a large longer table behind him. He
eagerly awaited this moment, and through he did this previously
with the last weyrling class.. there was something special about
this group, aside from the fact it was the offspring of his
gold.. this hatching was quite the affair and he was pretty sure
it would get out soon about the return of the white dragons.. as
well as the fact his young gold had laid two sets of twins, much
less that the sire was a blue and blues were thought to sire
       smaller clutches.

       Weyrling Anoirigan of Green Clariath
Noir smiled at his reflection as he straightened his clothes,
smoothing out any wrinkles in the fabric. Today had been... a
day. The hatching had gone... well, for the most part. Of
course, now that it was said and done, he did feel a bit bad for
Zathrian, and the injury he'd sustained at the teeth of Maheeth.
He himself had thought that the poor guy deserved to be bitten,
but after seeing his reaction... Noir felt guilty. That was when
Clariath chose to speak up, sensing the grief in the heart of
       her bonded.
Grief will only ruin your joys, my boy. She told him gently.
Come now. Meteion will be delighted to see you. And I know you
want to see her, so hurry along, and let us go.
Must you tease me about my feelings for her?The lad laughed
       softly.
Yes, because I know how strongly you feel for her. I can feel it
pulling on your heart. So if you truly feel affection towards
her, you will not keep your lady waiting, now will you?
She's not my lady-! She's my... w-well... yes, I am
interested... b-but I would rather allow myself to be thrown
aside like Judiana was, than rush her. Now please, stop teasing
me about my feelings, I'm still... He trailed off.
Adjusting, I know. I am sorry, Anoirigan. I mean no harm.
Noir merely patted her atop the head before bringing her and
Nami along, heading towards the dining hall and the celebratory
feast. After the events of today, he was as hungry as a
       hatchling himself!

       Weyrling Idalia of Blue Alekaeth
Idalia was really hoping this feast might be of some interest,
as she had been in the middle of studying Alekaeth's markings
and his deformed leg to figure out how to make a temporary sling
for it. However, she knew it was traditional to go and Alekaeth
at least seemed a bit excited about possibly seeing Ragnath as
well as his other siblings so she figured it wouldn't hurt.
There was food and if things did go sour then nothing stopped
her from leaving early. Well, and she had an excuse to dress up
a little, but that was simply a perk.
'Don't worry, I'm sure it will be nice. Plus it'll get you fed
with some delicious food! The blue spoke as he hobbled along,
Idalia for once walking much slower to make sure she wouldn't
       get too far ahead.
'I'm not worried about that, the only reason I'm going is for
the food.' She easily soothed back, petting along the blue's
back soothingly before making it to the dining hall. Looking
around, she did wonder how many of their new classmates would be
       there.
Weyrling Theon of Bronze Ustinjath & Kiran
Part of Theon was starting to regret heading towards the feast,
but at this point, it was too late to turn back around. Firstly,
introducing Kiran to his new bonded went... not that great. The
firelizard clearly has some sort of problem with Ustinjath and
has refused to get off of the top of Theon's head, puffed up in
a defensive manner. Ustinjath didn't seem to like that this
creature seemed to believe his bonded somehow needed a tiny
noisemaker to protect him. 'This creature must be pathetic if it
believes it could best me. How do you deal with all this noise?
Can you make it be silent!' were the exact words Ustinjath had
       used.
Even as he approached the feast, Ustijath seemed irritated that
he had dared to bring Kiran. In his defense, removing an angry
firelizard off his head with only one hand wasn't exactly easy
and even if that wasn't the case, he hoped maybe E'tria would be
there. Perhaps she'd know how to get the two to get along
instead of fighting nonstop. It was giving Theon a headache to
think about needing to always keep the two separated.
'Why do I have to get along with that annoying creature clinging
to you? It's just a firelizard! I'm your bonded, it should know
to respect a bronze's presence.' rumbled out the voice of
Ustinjath once more, sensing Theon's irritation over their
silent bickering. At least they were finally making it to the
dining hall and feast, perhaps some food would help ease the
       headache.

Weyrling Judiana of Bronze Todayath - arrival at the feast,
       mentions Anoirigan, Meteion, other Weyrlings
My... my Judiana... you look so beautiful, dear... that dress
was made for you, dear heart...
Todayath's voice quivered with pride as Judiana stood before him
in a beautiful bronze-toned dress with paler bronze, almost
cream sleeves that closely resembled his own paler hind feet.
The little bronze felt his heart swell with pride as she twirled
       in a small circle.
Well... I'm glad you like it.Judiana smiled sheepishly, tucking
a loose strand of her now-curled hair behind her ear.
I love it... Todayath breathed. Judiana smiled tenderly, taking
a deep breath to settle her nerves before turning to exit the
room. With her bonded beside her, the young Weyrling lass began
her walk to the dining hall, where a grand feast surely awaited
the new Weyrlings and their bonded.

       Weyrling Celia of Green Ragnath
Celia was seated in the feat hall feeling quite overwhelmed by
the day's events. She'd wanted to return to her room and relax
but had dutifully agreed to attend the event. Upon entering the
great hall the smell of the food had reminded her just how
hungry she was. Despite not owning any nice clothing herself,
she had been provided a dress to wear, it was a styled like a
simple sundress with a gauzy layer over the skirts, and was a
lighter spring green not unlike Ragnath. Elegant flowering
vines were embroidered onto the skirt in a darker green.
Ragnath lay curled up at her feet. The dragon was so small that
she barely took up any space at all, especially when she tucked
in her wings and tail. She rested her head on Celia's lap, and
with an idle hand Celia found herself stroking the warm snout
from time to time as she ate. Ragnath purred contentedly as
Celia scratched her around the base of the horns.
       Weyrleader Cora of Blue Astralath
The only thing Cora hated more than parties, was fancy parties.
Those required dressing up you see. She'd returned to her rooms
and scrubbed her face to remove the tea while Astralath waited
outside. Grumbling to herself she opened her closet and
rummaged around in it for several minutes, throwing aside
clothing that didn't fit her needs.
After making a good mess of her room she fished out a dress from
the back of her closet, it was a dark midnight blue with long
open bell-like sleeves, and a black bodice fashioned to look a
bit like a corset. The neckline was trimmed with black fabric
and was open, lightly resting on her shoulders when she put it
on. Starting at the bottom of the bodice, small silver stars
had been stitched into the fabric, densely packed against the
black fabric but becoming sparser as they trailed off towards
the hem. She inspected the left sleeve and found that there was
a rather significant hole ripped in the bottom edge of it. Cora
frowned and picked at the ragged threads, a bit of something
       dried was stuck to it.
Now what happened here? She wondered to herself. Thinking back
to when she last wore the dress she remembered with a small
twinge that it had last been worn at her own celebratory feast
when she'd received Astralath. That night while she'd been
seated at the celebratory dinner, Astralath had chewed a hole in
the long trailing sleeve. Cora sighed to herself and tried to
find some shoes to wear. She'd acquiesce on the dress and
shoes, but if anyone tried to get her to wear makeup they'd have
       another thing coming.
With the dress and shoes on, she tightened the lacing on the
bodice slightly, just to cinch it in until it lay correctly.
Pleased with the result she smoothed the fabric and ran her
hands through her hair in a vain attempt to make it lay flat.
Resigning herself to her looks, she left to join the feast
       celebration.

       Weyrling Meteion of Brown Simbrath
Meteion had taken probably more time than she should have to get
cleaned up and dressed in her gathering gown. Despite being a
lady that tried to keep mindful of her appearence, she was
certainly no beauty queen, not like pretty Melora with her
golden hair and perfect figure. She was just.. plain. At least
       from her own perspective.
Her hair was pulled into a bun, with a few ringlets falling
across each cheek. As she arrived, Simbrath padding in behind
her, she found a wall to lean against and stared out, unsure how
to proceed, her dreams of this day never really got this far.
Simbrath snorted softly and butted against her leg in a soothing
manner, he did not understand why she was so worried about her
hide, she was perfect after all, why else would he have chosen
her? As if feeling his thoughts, Meteion giggled softly and ran
her hand over his head gently, she did appreciate his regard,
even if he was very wrong.
       [hr]
       Weyrling Zathrian of White Florenth
Zathrian's face was a mask of neutral calm as he strode into the
feast, with Florenth not far behind him. The sleeve of his
yukata was pinned up as neatly as he could manage on the arm
where it had been amutated below the elbow. The last day or so
since the attack had him learning to do things without the use
of both arms and it was exsuasting to say the least.
Florenth was a blessing on that front as well, as she quietly
sat at his side, her own appearence of course had several people
gazing at her. Let them, see her bonded for the strong male that
he is. The picture of strenth that they both made.
It did not matter to Zathrian that his dragon was likely the
smallest of the clutch, she was a beautiful white and reminded
him of the moon, much like her eggshell, come to think of it. He
remembered the whispers and gossip that the very odd shell
markings were misleading to what was within, like the story of
Haloneth had been, her own egg shell thought to have contained a
       blue or large green.
He twisted a ring on his remaining hand, the design had a
crescent moon on it and he chuckled inwardly.. he had predicted
which egg was his long before he impressed.. for his heirloom
ring.. it was almost like it was a sign. He was not really a
social creature, less so since the hatching but he was here
regardless, he was no coward and nothing would stop him, even
the partial loss of a limb.

       Weyrling Anoirigan of Green Clariath
Anoirigan felt the air leave his lungs as Meteion entered the
room. His eyes had widened before that moment in shock as he'd
watched Judiana, the lass frightened of any and all Firelizards,
accepted an egg from the presented clutch. The hatchling that
came from within... Faranth help us all... the lad thought to
       himself.
But his attention returned to the present at that moment, as
       Meteion came into view.
Be still, my beating heart... Noir thought to himself,
momentarily forgetting about Clariath being by his side. That
is, at least, until he felt a nip at his hand. He looked down to
see the hatchling staring up at him, her gaze intense.
Get up. Go to her. Do something, besides sit here and gawk at
       her! Go!
Slipping a nod to the Weyr(wo)man, Noir leapt to his feet and
waved for Meteion to join him.
"Meteion-! I- ah- h-here-! I saved you a seat... if... if you
want to sit with me..." He stammered, his face flushed slightly.
An inward groan filled his mind at how pathetic he sounded. I'm
       such an idiot...!
