" Upon the souls of they who have sacrificed themselves to pave
the way for peace , we will never abandon our cause."
--Aymeric de Borel, FFXIV Endwalker
BASICS
NAME: Aymeric
BIRTHDATE: Early Fall 2587
AGE: 25 as of Early Fall 2612
GENDER: Male (Cis)
PRONOUNS: He/Him/His
ORIENTATION: Demiromantic Demisexual
BIRTHPLACE: Benden Weyr
LOCATION: Westwind Weyr
OCCUPATION: Dragonrider (Blue)
WING: Borealis
APPEARANCE
HAIR: Jet Black
EYES: Sapphire Blue-green
HEIGHT: 6'5"
WEIGHT: 180 lbs
PLAY-BY: Aymeric de Borel (FFXIV)
APPEARANCE:

Aymeric is a very tall and well built young man. His skin is
slightly tanned from spending a lot of time outside, working in
the fields as a lad. His hair is black as night, thick as wool
and slightly curly, a trait he shares with his mother and
younger sister. He keeps his hair cut fairly short, so that it
does not get into his way while he is working. His eyes are an
intense deep sapphire blue-green and they are almost piercing in
their intensity.
Raised on a farm, his physical form has always been in peak
condition, even after moving to Westwind and being a candidate.
He tends to favor blues in his wardrobe, along with earthy
browns and tans, as while a dragon rider, he is still a simple
farmer's son at heart.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Aymeric is very elegant and open despite his humble upbringing
prior to candidacy, and carries himself with the grace one might
expect of a Lord holder, rather than a farmer's son. He has a
noble and virtuous nature and is very passionate about equality
for all and being a protector that those close to him need or
deserve.
Humble and honest, he tends to keep his ego in check, reminding
himself that he is no better than anyone else and that honestly
is the best policy. Due to his honest nature, he will tend to
answer a question truthfully and sometimes.. the truth hurts and
it would hurt others and this has led to some calling him crass
or insensitive but he does not see it that way. He sees lying as
a disservice and a betrayal to someone and will go out of his
way to make sure he is truthful in all things.
But then comes to the front.. his biggest demon. His emotional
tendency to let his feelings rule his better judgement and make
snap sudden choices. This can be anywhere from mundane to major,
even to his own detriment and he will flaunt or outright break
rules he thinks are unfair, inequal or just plain foolish (mind
you, this is all his own perceptions and not always the truth.)
He is also very zealous on top of being ruled by the heat of his
emotions and will be the first to charge off into danger as long
as he can protect someone that needs him and this conflicts
often with rational thought and has been the source of trouble
on many occasions. His heart can be in the right place most of
the time, but his reactions and actions... not always so much.
He is very much a "fly by the seat of his emotional pants" sort
of man.

Rebecca (49) - Mother | Farmer
Aymar (Deceased) - Father | Farmer
Reordan (50) - Stepfather | Weyrguard/Bronze Handler
Aylee (22) - Sister | Open Tie
Reoric (16) - Half Brother | Open Tie
STATUS: Single (Open to that changing)
HISTORY:
TW: Death and Loss
Aymeric was born to simple farmers, the first of their two
children and only son in the spring of the year following their
marriage. The couple tried unsuccessfully for several more years
to have more children when finally when Aymeric was 3 years, his
mother gave birth to a sister named Aylee. Their lives were
mundane and routine until one day a couple of years later, fire
broke out in the fields as the result of a flight fight between
a pair of bronzes over the resident queen gold who was in
flight. One had slammed the other into a nearby building that
had been stoking fires for the blacksmith that lived nearby and
the hot coals that scattered as a result lit the already dry
fields alight like kindling.
The fire spread quickly and caught fire to their small farmhouse
and while he, his mother and baby sister were able to escape,
his father did not, trying to go back in and save the family
dog. The roof collapsed in before they could escape and
tragically they both perished. After the fire was put out, the
Weyrwoman of Benden begrudgingly moved the family closer to the
weyr and gave them some token land to farm as compensation for
what they lost. It was then that Aymeric started to have doubts,
as did his mother that their weyr actually cared about those not
in their social circles.
During the few years that went forward, his mother met man in
the Weyr guard named Reordan and they soon fell in love and were
later married. Not long after, his mother brought a half brother
into the world named Reoric. Even though he was merely a step
child, his stepfather was always doing his best by him and his
sister, treating them both like blood and Aymeric grew close to
the man and once he was 10 years old, he agreed to being adopted
officially by the man and called him Dad for the first time
instead of the formal Father he had been using.
When he turned 15, he was in the markets of the Weyr proper when
a green rider and her dragon approached him and offered him the
chance of a lifetime, that he, Aymeric, had the right stuff to
be a candidate. Excited at the idea of this and being able to
make a difference, he raced home and babbled the news over
dinner. His mother was naturally apprehensive, given their past
but his stepfather soothed her worries, stating that he believed
in their son and he would be a credit to whatever dragon he
impressed with.
Agreeing, he was off to the weyr proper. Thanking the lessons
from his stepfather teaching him more than just the basics of
reading and writing, he was eloquent and fluent enough to pass
himself off as more than a farmer's son. While the other
candidates sometimes tormented him, he took his licks and gave
right back, his ire often directed at bullies, no matter they
were male or female.
But year after year, standing after standing... and nothing. He
befriended another candidate during this time that seemed to
have as rotten luck as him named Haurchefant. They both bonded
over mutual disappointment and wondered if they were going to
age out. But then Haloneth hatched.. and chaos broke out.
Aymeric was thrilled for his friend, thinking this was the
chance to make a difference and was so elated that he forgot his
own distress at being passed up again.
But then he watched how disgustingly his friend and his dragon
were treated all because it was a man riding gold. This
absolutely disgusted Aymeric and he wanted to drop from
candidacy, refusing to support a system that would do this. But
he was not the only one, as his mother, stepfather and siblings
were in agreement, this was a cruel injustice. So when they
heard the pair was leaving with others that were disgusted with
Benden's leadership, he was in a heartbeat later. Once arriving
at Westwind and settling in, his mother took up work in the
fields once again, also aiding in the kitchens as needed. His
father became part of the weyr guard and his siblings had the
chance to choose what they wanted to do with their lives.
With his friend Haurchefant appointed the leader of Westwind as
Weyr(wo)man, he decided to resume being a candidate and the pair
of greens that flew and clutched soon had a good sized clutch on
the sands and finally his patience was rewarded in a way he
never would have imagined. Standing on the sands when a very
weak looking blue hatched, his heart went out to the poor dragon
that was struggling to stand. Aymeric knew that going forward to
help the dragon might get him in trouble but he was running on
emotions as he darted forward and knelt before the tiny blue and
gently helped break the shell that was stuck over his snout so
he could breathe and helped him stand on his legs before he
backed up a bit.
He did not want to force the impression, only to prevent this
tiny life from going between or suffocating. He looked so sad
and tired that it took all Aymeric's willpower to not just
gather him into his arms and tell him he was safe and would be
ok. The small blue looked around, then his gaze focused back on
the human that had come to his aid. He stumbled towards the
candidate before his strength left him and he reached out to
him.
" Aymeric.. help me please.. I am so tired.. I can't reach
you..."
Aymeric felt his heart stop and he didn't hesitate as he rushed
forward and gathered the small dragon in his arms and nuzzled
against his tiny head and reassured him that he was here and he
would be okay, that he had his back. He turned to face the
candidate master as he noticed the man wiping tears away as he
congratulated him. Kneeling beside the feeding buckets, he let
the dragon healers check over the blue and once it was deemed
safe, he hand fed him, keeping the blue on his lap.
A true bond of friendship was cemented that day that nothing
could break and the pair did their best in lessons, Aymeric
encouraging Sorroth when he got frustrated and discovered his
bonded dragon was actually very agile and quick, despite a rough
start in life. When they graduated recently, he joined the
Borealis wing and hopes to be a credit to the faith Sorroth put
in him and make a real difference in the weyr.

NAME: Sorroth
BIRTHPLACE: Westwind Weyr
BIRTHDATE: Early Spring 2611
AGE: 1 as of Late Summer 2612
APPEARANCE
LENGTH: 29.5 ft.
HEIGHT: 7.25 ft.
WINGSPAN: 49.75 ft.
COLOR: Blue
TEXT COLOR: #132452
APPEARANCE:
A small blue, Sorroth sports a build that can be described as
“often mistake for a scarecrow” scrawny. It will be easy for him
to fly at high speed and perform tight maneuvers...when he
elects to even rise from his couch. An outsider beholding him
can be quite a fright, in terms of how bony he looks even at
peak health. In addition, he walks very quietly, out of habit
and nature. Sorroth is a blue of plain looks. The color of his
hide is the deep dark blue of the depths of the sea, with faint
sheens of paler blue over his body, as though to mimic light
piercing the waves.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Sorroth is a very sad and mournful blue, even with no reason to
feel such things. Such disinterest and dejection is simply who
he is, as Sorroth. Ever the pessimist, nothing will ever come.
Work is done every day as a distraction from the inevitable end,
and he sees work as a poor distraction. With little drive or
energy to do much, it takes great effort to get him to move.
Sorroth finds interacting with others difficult, as everyone
else operates on a different wavelength than him. Communication
is out of the question; effective communication, at least.
Whatever Sorroth says is delivered bluntly and apathetically,
and he sees no reason to hide what he thinks of someone. Sorroth
is definitely an odd blue, and he knows this. It is his opinion
that most other dragons see him as strange and don’t put forth
proper effort to understand him. If that’s the case, why should
he bother to try to understand them?
To his bonded, Sorroth is just a friend. While he doesn’t
realize it, he is very dependent on his bonded to see him
through each day. Sorroth trusts no-one but his bonded with his
innermost thoughts and feelings, for everyone else is just
utterly unworthy in some manner or another. Even amidst trust
issues and endless dismay, Sorroth can prove a caring companion.
While he may not understand that a human’s needs are different
from a dragon’s needs, he will always do his best to make sure
that his bonded’s needs and wants are met. The only thing that
will consistently get Sorroth to face the day is his bonded’s
desire for something close at hand. While Sorroth sees nothing
to celebrate in even something as simple as a sunrise, he will
take his bonded's joy as his own. If his bonded is happy...then
Sorroth can find it in him to be happy, in his own way.
VOICE: Sorroth sounds like a young man, though he speaks softly
with a depressed tone to every word. Weary sighs are a common
sound that punctuates every conversation with him.
