"If feathers don't ruffle, Nothing flies"
- Jessica Raine
BASICS
NAME: Idalia
BIRTHDATE: Summer of 2594
AGE: 18 as of Summer 2612
GENDER: Cis-Female
PRONOUNS: She/Her/Hers
ORIENTATION: Bisexual
BIRTHPLACE: Benden Weyr
LOCATION: Westwind Weyr
OCCUPATION: Tailorcraft Apprentice, Weyrling (Blue)
WING: N/A
APPEARANCE
HAIR: Dark Brown
EYES: Brown
HEIGHT: 5'4''
WEIGHT: 121 lbs
PLAY-BY: Jessica Raine
APPEARANCE:
Idalia is a rather slender, graceful woman of average height
that likes to keep her appearance very neat. Her eyes are a
medium brown while her hair is a darker shade of brown. Due to
being busy often she has her hair cut short or, when it is
longer, she keeps it in a bun or ponytail for ease of styling.
Even her clothes tend to be neat and extremely tidy, almost to
an obsessive degree of cleanliness. While she is not necessarily
strong, she is a very good runner and often will walk at a very
quick pace even during her own free time. As Idalia would put
it, she has places to be and doesn't want to waste time getting
there.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Idalia has always been easily motivated all her life. Whether
the reason is good or bad could be highly debated, but no matter
what Idalia has never struggled to find a way to push herself to
complete a task or goal. She has always been brave and not
afraid to try new things or put in the work to accomplish
something. Loyal is one of her more surprising traits, but one
she proudly will show nonetheless. Rarely does she allow herself
to have friends considering it's seen as being 'in the way', but
when she finds a role model or trusted person then she will
follow them to the end.
Considering the amount of bravery she has, there has to be some
sort of downside. Unfortunately, this means she does slip into
overconfidence, though this is much more of a defense mechanism
over true confidence. Idalia struggles to admit fault in herself
after all since she was never allowed to really show her
weaknesses. If enough pressure is applied, she can, but this is
a rarity for her and she instead has a tendency to double down
instead. This behavior combined with her sarcastic way of
talking can easily give off a rude and self-entitled
personality, even if she would never intend to come across that
way.
One of her worse qualities is the fact she tends to speak before
she thinks about what she is saying. Idalia's risk for
overconfidence and motivation can lead to her saying things she
does mean just to get above someone else or win an argument.
Half the time she might not even know what she is trying to win
at, yet she feels she has to say anything to come out on top.
Likely this could be contributed to her perfectionist nature.
She's always had this inherent need to be perfect in every sense
of the word and on top of others. It's why Idalia often
overworks herself when given the right motivation, forcing
herself to even sacrifice her mental or physical health if it
might get her to complete a goal or get a foot ahead of another
person. It's been drilled into Idalia's mind that, if she isn't
perfect, she is nothing.

FAMILY:
Veronica | Mother, 43 | Alive, estranged and strained due to
Idalia's sudden departure from Benden Weyr
Thatcher | Father, 41 | Alive, relationship with Idalia's is the
same as Veronica's
STATUS: Single, Open [s]though I'd have to question your
sanity[/s]
HISTORY:
TW - Mentions of Emotional Abuse
Veronica and Thatcher were Idalia's parents and were very proud,
mostly due to being rather talented dragonriders if you ignored
their completely egotistical mindset. Although they did not
raise Idalia directly and she was raised in the creche, they saw
firsthand that Idalia know she had a legacy to follow and that
they would not accept anything less than the best from her.
She was their daughter after all, not some common folk's waste
of space. Any little mistake was highlighted while they were
around and it quickly taught Idalia that she shouldn't ask for
help and rather learn things outright. Ignoring making friends
and being social in favor of reading or getting ready for her
future occupations. Her parents often encouraged this, making it
clear that she'd be more talented than them by focusing on what
truly mattered. Friends would only serve as a distraction if
nothing else.
This sense of overworking didn't really help her socialization,
but really she didn't bother to care as it didn't serve a
purpose. Instead, from a ripe young age of 10, she began her
apprenticeship in the tailorcraft and continued to try and prove
to her parents that she could be everything they wanted. Idalia
wanted to be that perfect daughter so badly, yet again and
again, nothing she could do would make her parents proud. The
most she got was maybe a half-baked compliment, sending Idalia
into a spiral of becoming a perfectionist, able to only pick out
the errors no matter how perfect the rest of her work might be.
When it became time to be a candidate, she presented herself and
joined without hesitance. Her parents wouldn't of let her do
anything else, yet they wouldn't get to see her impress.
Instead, Idalia was able to see their outraged and outright
cruel responses to the bonding of Haloneth to Haurchefaut. For
once in her life, the spell of admiration she had for her
parents faltered and she saw them for what they were. Sure it
wasn't normal or traditional in any sense of the world, part of
her didn't even understand it, but who cared? If Haurchefaut was
talented then nothing else should matter as she was raised to
think skill mattered the most.
Disgusted and now wanting to stride on her own, she didn't
hesitate to run away and join the group following the young gold
and her bonded. Her problems and personality were set in stone
and she wasn't a nice person to most, but Idalia couldn't stand
the thought of falling in line with her parents anymore. She
tried so hard to be a good example for them and others, but
nothing worked and she doubts it ever would have.
As Westwind Weyr settled down and made itself into a place
people could live, she failed to impress at the first hatching
that happened. It was a setback, but she didn't care and Idalia
still tried her best to learn everything she could, this time to
prove her parents wrong. She'd be a skilled dragonrider, yes,
but this time would be because she wanted to be one. Not because
her parents wished it.
Now that Haloneth has clutched, she finds herself wishing with
every part of her soul to get a dragon that would be perfect for
her. Gold or otherwise, Idalia eagerly waits to see if she will
be one of the lucky candidates chosen for the hatchlings.

"Idalia... I'm Alekaeth. Let's go. I don't want Aaroth making a
scene just to make himself a nuisance for us."
BASICS
NAME: Alekaeth
BIRTHPLACE: Westwind Weyr
BIRTHDATE: Mid Autumn 2612
AGE: Newborn as of Mid Autumn 2612
APPEARANCE
LENGTH: 32 ft.
HEIGHT: 8.5 ft.
WINGSPAN: 55 ft.
COLOR: Blue
TEXT COLOR: #3a64c7
APPEARANCE:
For a blue, Alekaeth is rather average. With nothing special in
regards to his dimensions or whatnot, he's one that passes
through a crowd without drawing attention. Except...he does.
Alekaeth's front left leg appears disabled from birth, drawn
close to his chest and unusable. While it will take time and
practice to adapt, it should not hinder him from taking up all
the duties a blue would be expected to undertake. While he might
possess a low energy spirit, Alekaeth's hide more than makes up.
A pale blue undertone makes up his hide's base, overlayed with
bold blue markings in the shape of stars, with a larger sunburst
over his wingsails, as well as covering his eyes like a mask.
Vine-like patterns his legs and tail, twining over his body.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
A hardworking and dutiful blue, Alekaeth is driven and
determined to help others. But he claims he does not work hard
enough, often diving headfirst into his work to ignore what he
feels, as well as claiming little to no credit for his
accomplishments. Empathetic to a fault, he prioritizes others
before himself and his own feelings. Brave and confident, he
will risk it all to make sure everyone he cares about is safe.
While he aches to help others, he struggles to express his own
feelings, as well as understand how others really feel. Somewhat
oblivious, he's a total dork sometimes as he comes to realize
what someone actually meant and processes it. With his disabled
leg, he feels inadequate and hurt, often taking great pains to
shield himself from sight. Alekaeth will need help and time to
grow confident and proud about this facet to his being, but it
will never detract from his quiet strength.
To his bonded, Alekaeth is but a friend. Very kind and gentle,
he wants to make them happy, as well as help them with whatever
they want to do; he wants to get involved! This is a blue who's
always willing to give someone a second chance, even should they
grievously hurt him or his loved ones. Though rash and reckless
when he's frustrated or upset, he can easily grow withdrawn and
stricken with guilt should he mess up. Alekaeth looks up to
Toyadath like a mentor, while Ustinjath is feared and even
hated, on occasion. Maheeth is regarded with caution and
dislike, but time will see them grow to be close friends.
Alekaeth is very close to Ragnath and likes both Simbrath and
Florenth, but he's wary for Halukith and his shenanigans.
Aaroth, his twin brother, is loved and cherished, even though
Aaroth does not return his feelings. Time will see them grow
closer...perhaps.
VOICE: Alekaeth sounds like a young man, warm and outgoing, very
pleasant to hear. Though he shares a similar voice with Aaroth,
making it difficult to distinguish between them, on occasion.
WHY IDALIA? Alekaeth is confident and brave, but he’ll need a
little nudge to avoid hesitancy or falling into guilt, on
occasion. That’s your job, Idalia. And look, he’s got a hurt
foot! Take good care of this blue; he’s all yours. Don't worry,
you’ll do great together.
