APPEARANCE:
Zathrian is a very tall and well built young man that clearly
does not miss daily exercise. He has slightly tannish skin, dark
brown eyes that border on almost black and thick ink black hair
with a slight waviness to it. He keeps his hair cut sensibly
short and often musses it up by running his fingers through it.
He has full cupid's bow lips and almond shaped eyes with longer
lashes. His nose is a bit bigger than he would like but it
frames the angular shape of his face in a visually pleasing way.
Clothing wise, he prefers earth tones and muted greens, natural
colors and strategically sound for blending into surroundings.
He often is well kept and detests being dirty and will change an
entire shirt over a fleck of dirt.
[center]PERSONALITY[/center]
PERSONALITY:
Zathrian is calm and composed man and is often quite serious
when it comes to goals, tasks and organization. He possesses a
calm demeanor that makes him easily approachable and will help
someone if he can without hesitation, often electing the more
logical approach to a solution, rather than take a calculated
risk. He enjoys numbers and organizing things into proper
categories and often when stressed, he starts counting in
sequences until he finds some inner calm or at least brings
himself to a place of tolerant stress levels.
Despite being a very logical person, he has very little patience
for anything that does not benefit himself or someone around him
in a positive way and often can be seen as cold or self
centered.. which he absolutely is. He tends to put himself and
his goals ahead of anything and anyone else and won't hesitate
to break a few eggs to make an omelet if its the most direct way
to his goals.
He also utterly detests physical affections and will duck back
from any attempts to hug or touch him, save for healers. Only
them because he logically knows if he is wounded, they have to
do so to treat him. The idea of intimate relations also puts him
off and he will do what he can to avoid it entirely. Perhaps if
the right person came along that pleased him.. he might change
this attitude.. maybe.

HISTORY:
Zathrian was the first born child to his rider parents and in
the usual tradition, was given to the creche to raise. While
over time he had other siblings, he rarely saw his parents, as
it always seemed they were on the go, only visiting long enough
to check on his progress. This really didn't phase him as he was
by this point fascinated with tactics and strategies and enjoyed
playing games of such, finding such to be more appealing than
fantasy style games as a young lad. This tendency bled into any
games he played with other children as well.
When he was 14 years old, he decided he wanted to follow in the
path of his parents, namely because what better way to see
firsthand the tactics and strategy then to be right in the thick
of the action yourself? When he was of age, he presented himself
to the candidate master and joined candidacy.
Despite his best efforts, his first standings ended with no
impression. Discouraged but not about to give up, he threw
himself harder into his efforts, soaking in all the knowledge he
could get his hands on to keep himself from surrendering to
frustration and despair.
But then.. Haloneth hatched and everything went in the air.
Unlike a lot of Benden, his parents were supportive of the idea
of this change but at first Zathrian did not like it. Namely
because it would bring a great deal of chaos, as it upset the
natural order of things. But over time, and watching this poor
weyrling's treatment, it actually began to anger him. What right
did these idiots get to treat him this way because he was male?
Men were just as capable to be gold riders as women and this
idea that what was between your legs dictated color disgusted
and annoyed him, because dragons were smart enough to know what
they needed right? So when his parents came to him in the night,
his family in tow and announced they were leaving Benden, that
was all the push he needed.
After arriving, he stood at the first hatchings of the fledgling
weyr and left as he always had.. in disappointment. But there
was a gold clutch on the sands now.. and with it.. his chance to
make a difference. He just.. needed a dragon.

severe muscle damage to his right forearm. Rather than endure
the shame of a useless lower arm, he requests it be amputated at

NOT.

desperate to impress.

Rough him up, put him in his place or lovebomb him and make him
FEEL. I am good with either, just something that might jarr him
to his core. Feel free to challenge him... I dare you.

avoid the eyes please.

mutation/oddity?: I mean.. he is an oddity so he is open to the
idea, dragons know best what they need.
