[center]Adoption Guide[/center]
Here you will find a basic overview of adoptables and what to
expect.
Firelizards
[list]
[li]Firelizards are a common pet and companion animal for the
people of Pern. As such, we offer them here! A firelizard
claimed from here is just art; it's up to you to make the
character of the flit.[/li]
[li]A member may claim up to four firelizards per month from
here, independently of the standard dragon/wher adopt
limitations. The exceptions are gold firelizards. A gold
firelizard will require a prize to acquire, but art will be
provided here for those who have the prize![/li]
[li]To claim art of a firelizard, follow the same procedure as
you would with a dragon or wher: quote the adoption post and
copy/paste it into the claims section, and you're good to
go![/li]

Blank Dragons/Whers
[list]
[li]Blank dragons/whers are simply the artwork of a dragon/wher,
with no additional detail added to them. A blank dragon/wher is
as the name implies: blank. It is up to you to make them as you
will.[/li]
[li]Blank dragons/whers must have hatched and Impressed at an
off-screen Weyr. Please include any major historical events tied
to that Weyr that you are aware of.[/li]
[li]Blanks dragons/whers will be cycled on a monthly basis. If
you wish to adopt a specific dragon/wher, you may DM staff about
it on Discord. Provided ample description, we will retrieve the
blank for you. A member may make such a request once a month;
the blanks on the board are all good and all deserve love.[/li]

Hatched Dragons/Whers
[list]
[li]Hatched dragons/whers come with a fully-made application;
complete with art, appearance/personality descriptions, etc. The
features of a hatched adoptable are set in stone and cannot be
changed. The same applies for the conditions of the
dragon/wher's Impression. If a dragon hatched at Westwind Weyr,
you cannot change the dragon's history to say they hatched at
another Weyr.[/li]
[li]Should a hatched dragon/wher still be of the
weyrling/wherling age, they will appear in the
Weyrlings/Wherlings section. For the entire duration of the
dragon/wher's weyrlinghood/wherlinghood, they will be available
for adoption. Upon reaching adult age, they will be cycled in
with the adult dragons/whers.[/li]
[li]We do not guarantee a specific color or personality of
dragon/wher in regard to hatched adoptables; it's entirely
dependent on what dragons/whers are available.[/li]

[center]Adoption Rules[/center]
Before you adopt your first dragon/wher, please read these
rules. If you ever find yourself in doubt or confusion regarding
an adopt, refer to these rules or ask staff. We will be happy to
answer your questions! Once you have read these rules, please
post in this thread, stating you have read and understand the
rules and will agree to abide by them to the best of your
abilities. Afterwards, you are clear to adopt!

[li]Should you lose muse for a character that is bonded to a
hatched dragon/wher, staff will place the dragon/wher in the
adoption circuit. We will not re-adopt a blank dragon/wher
except in select circumstances.[/li]
[li]A second wher cannot be adopted for a single character. A
character may enter play with one adopted wher, be it a blank or
a hatched adopt. The second wher must be acquired in-play,
either by using the wher pool feature or trying your luck at a
hatching.[/li]
[li]While there is no limit on the amount of dragons/whers a
member may adopt per month, you may only have two (2) active
claims at one time. If you wish to adopt a different dragon/wher
and already have two active claims, you must release one
claim.[/li]
[li]A dragon/wher can only be claimed twice by one member
without a complete adoption. If you place a claim on a
dragon/wher a third time, you must complete the adoption. Should
you drop the dragon/wher a third time, you will no longer be
able to place a claim on that dragon/wher.[/li]
[li]A claim lasts for one (1) month before expiring. The period
shall extend to two (2) months if an application is placed on
the board for the character and the claimed dragon/wher. An
adoption is considered complete once five (5) posts have been
made with the new character and associated bonded. Once this is
done, the adoption is considered final, and you may go back and
acquire another dragon/wher, if you choose.[/li]

[center]Want to claim an adoptable?[/center]
To claim an adoptable:

[li]Please use the "quote" function, found in the heading of a
post.[/li]
[li]Copy and paste the quoted content into the Adoptable Claims
topic, and hit post![/li]
[/list]
The date and time of your claim will be marked by your post, and
it's at that point that the clock starts ticking. Good luck and
