Westwind Wing List
By: Agenothree Date: June 22, 2022, 3:45 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Borealis Wing
Wingleader: P’tyr of Blue Inikoth
Wingsecond: None at the moment!
Dragonriders:
Noctis of Blue Insomniath
Borealis Wing is the first line of defense for the Weyr, facing
Thread head-on at the highest point that proves reasonable. The
Wing's members are comprised of the Weyr's fastest and most
agile flyers, most of whom are blues and greens.
Nebula Wing
Wingleader: Cullen of Brown Lyriuth
Wingsecond: None at the moment!
Dragonriders:
None at the moment!
Nebula Wing serves as the mid-altitude Wing, chasing what Thread
escapes the flame of Borealis' dragons. Browns and large blues
primarily fly in Nebula, for strength and speed in equal measure
is necessary to fly here.
Meteor Wing
Wingleader: Haurchefant of Gold Haloneth
Wingsecond: None at the moment!
Dragonriders:
Ignis of Bronze Luciiath
Meteor Wing is Westwind Weyr's Queen Wing, Traditionally led by
the Senior queenrider. Meteor Wing is almost entirely comprised
of bronzes and large browns, who fly to protect the queen.
Meteor serves as the muscle of the Wings, chasing those last
loose Threads that somehow eluded both Borealis and Nebula
before they fall to Pern.
Gaia Wing
Wingleader: A'ela of Blue Zieleth
Wingsecond: None at the moment!
Dragonriders:
T'ani of Green Amphelisith
Those who have training as a Healer often find themselves a part
of the Healer's Wing; dubbed Gaia Wing, in Westwind Weyr. Gaia
Wing is a low-flying non-combat Wing focused solely on rescuing
injured dragonriders and taking them to safety, as well as
treating minor injuries on the field. So long as a dragonrider
has experience as a Healer, they may join Gaia Wing, regardless
of the color of the dragon they ride.
Nightbreeze Squad
Squadleader: Tamin of Green Tamisk
Squadsecond: Shaela of Nebula Elask
Dragonriders:
None at the moment!
Wherhandlers:
Tara of Gold Task
Tyrande of Brown Tyrask
Nightbreeze Squad is one of the two squads that comprise
Westwind's Ground Crew. In addition to serving as standard
Ground Crew (finding and eliminating Thread burrows, damage
control, etc.), Nightbreeze performs search-and-rescue
operations, during and after Threadfall or any disastrous event.
A wherhandler with Healer training may elect to be a part of
Nightbreeze Squad, as well as any grounded dragonriders with
prior Healer experience, though everyone who wishes it may find
a place here.
Stormcloud Squad
Squadleader: Thurman of Blue Thursk
Squadsecond: None at the moment!
Dragonriders:
None at the moment!
Wherhandlers:
None at the moment!
Stormcloud Squad is the second of the two squads that make up
Westwind's Ground Crew. Where Nightbreeze focuses on providing
medical aid, Stormcloud is entirely an offensive squad. Any
threat to the Weyr has to get past Stormcloud's furious response
first. Should Thread fall, Stormcloud is intended to chase every
hint of Thread, leaving less for Nightbreeze to handle, allowing
the critical search-and-rescue operation to be Nightbreeze's
full focus.
In addition, with so many unknowns regarding the Western
Continent, it is Stormcloud's duty to face any threat native
wildlife might face, as well as serving as the maintenance crew
to keep the Weyr running smoothly. Supply runs, construction,
repairs, and so much more are under Stormcloud's watch. Grounded
dragonriders are welcome to join Stormcloud, just as easily as
they would join Nightbreeze.
