       Site Opening Event: Adopts!

       [list]Hello to all!
       To celebrate the opening of the Winds of Change, staff has
       decided to release six (6) young whers and twelve (12) young
       dragons as adopts to the first eighteen members to register! The
       dragons come from two off-screen clutches in the early days of
       Westwind's settlement on the Western Continent, and many believe
       you to be the first of many weyrlings and wherlings yet to come.
       Guidelines:

       [li]If you have not already, please go read the Adoption Guide
       and Rules

       [li]Claims made in Discord do not count; you must post a reply
       to this topic to get a dragon or wher.[/li]
       [li]If you have no preference for clutch and/or color, you may
       leave those blank![/li]
       [li]The dragons and whers are pre-made with a clutch theme in
       mind. The details of the dragons'
       and whers' bios cannot be changed.[/li]
       [li]The dragon or wher you get will be randomized within the
       parameters you set, and there will be no-take backs.[/li]
       [li]Staff will keep track of what dragons and whers are still in
       the pool, and keep this post updated on the numbers still
       available in each clutch.[/li]
       [/list]
       Once you claim a dragon or wher, staff will pull the dragon or
       wher from the pool and send it to you in your on-site PMs. When
       you're ready to post your character to the Application Board,
       simply quote the message and copy/paste your dragon or wher in a
       separate post directly after your character. Treat this as a
       standard adopt, though you have a few things to keep in mind:

       [li]All weyrlings and wherlings began as Candidates or weyrfolk
       (whers only!), and all came from Candidacy at Benden Weyr. Where
       they came from before Candidacy at Benden is up to you.[/li]
       [li]The whers hatched and Impressed in Late Winter 2610. The
       dragonets hatched and Impressed in Early Spring 2611.[/li]
       [li]The wherlings and whers graduated from wherlinghood in Early
       Summer 2612. The weyrlings and dragons graduated from
       weyrlinghood recently: Late Summer 2612.[/li]
       [li]The wing or squad your weyrling/wherling transferred into is
       your choice, within the constraints of any previous Craft
       affiliations and the size of dragon/wher. (Those that were
       previously Healers would transfer into Gaia Wing, a large brown
       would likely fly in Meteor Wing, etc.)[/li]
       [li]Any color dragon may Impress to any gender! Regardless of
       color, whers have no preference in regard to the gender of a
       handler.[/li][/list]
       All clutchsires were brown.
       The dam of the Elements clutch was gold Task.
       The dam of the Starfall clutch was green Carineath.
       The dam of the Emovere clutch was green Amphelisith.

       Using the code below, you may claim a young dragon or young wher
       to make an easy first character for Westwind Weyr. Don't wait!
       We only have six whers and twelve dragons available, so make
       your claim quick! But if you don't get a dragon or wher here,
       fear not! We will have plenty of other events planned for the
       future to try your luck again, not to mention the adopt pool and
