Application Forms

Here are the application forms we shall use here on Winds of
Change, and a brief description of how each works!
[center]NAME
- How your character wishes to be publicly called. This can be a
nickname, a shortened version of the character's full name, the
character's full name, or anything in between. If the
character's name has been elided in the fashion of a
dragonrider, place that here.

- Here is where your character's image goes! If you don't have a
play-by or a piece of artwork to use, leave this blank. This
section can always be filled in the future, should you find a
play-by or art you like!

- Optional. A quote that helps define your character. We accept
quotes from the character themselves, or quotes from other
sources that apply to the character. Song lyrics are acceptable
as well. Credit the original owner/speaker of the quote!
- Here are a couple examples:

emotion. It keeps you out of the moment of being where you are."

[center]BASICS[/center]
NAME:
- An elided name comes first (if applicable), followed by full
name and nicknames.
- Example: A'llyon; originally Apollyon; accepts Apollo
BIRTHDATE:
- The season and Turn of your character's birth.
- Example: Summer 2612
AGE:
- The age of your character, formatted as AGE as of SEASON TURN
- Example: 24 as of Summer 2612
GENDER:
- How your character identifies! Please include the character's
assigned gender, if applicable.
- Examples: Masculine, Feminine, Transgender; assigned
male/female at birth (AMAB, AFAB), Questioning, etc.
PRONOUNS:
- How your character wants to be referred, with pronouns. 1/2/3
type pronouns are used here. Any and all pronouns are welcome!
- Examples: he/him/his, she/her/hers, they/them/theirs,
xe/xem/xyr, ze/hir/hirs, etc.
ORIENTATION:
- The romantic/sexual orientation of your character! Formatted
as romantic, followed by sexual - if either are applicable. Any
and all orientations are welcome, and commentary is acceptable!
- Examples: Biromantic, Heterosexual, Aromantic Greysexual,
Homosexual, Queer, Questioning, "Excuse Me?". Some characters
are too young to be considering their orientation, so something
like "Too Young" is acceptable as well.
BIRTHPLACE:
- The place your character was born. This can be anywhere on the
Northern Continent, from the largest of all Holds to a travellng
caravan in the wilderness - within reason.
LOCATION:
- Where is your character located at this point in time?
OCCUPATION:
- What your character does and has done for a profession. These
ranks and titles stack; being a Candidate does not discount an
Apprenticeship in a Craft. We accept witty comments here as
well.
- Example: Apprentice Harper, Candidate; Wingrider, Weyr-Jester,
WING:
- What wing/squad your character is a member. Put N/A for
Candidates and Retired for retired riders/handlers.
[center]APPEARANCE[/center]
HAIR:
- What color is your character's hair? Natural colors only, with
the exception of a trait used. Add in a detail or two about the
character's hair too, if you wish!
- Examples: Fiery Red; Dark Brown, wavy
EYES:
- What color is your character's eyes? Again, natural colors
only, unless a trait is used. Feel free to add a little detail
to this section too!
HEIGHT:
- How tall is your character? The average Pernese man is about
6' tall, and the average woman is about 5' 8". A trait can be
used to make a character taller or shorter than average.
WEIGHT:
- What build does your character possess? Are they skinny?
Average? Stout? List that here!
PLAY-BY: (if applicable)
- Well-known actors/actresses and art can be used for character
images - called face-claims. If you're using an actor/actress,
state their name here! If you're using art, credit the creator
of the piece. If you use a Picrew or other art creation tool,
please link the one you used. Personal art is welcome as well!
Please do not use images of yourself or people who aren't
well-known and popular figures.
APPEARANCE:
- Describe your character's appearance! Please include their
physical traits (height, hair/eye color, etc.), and go a little
deeper; detail their manner of dress or way they carry
themselves. One (1) paragraph (4-8 sentences) minimum.

PERSONALITY:
- Who is your character? What are their quirks, their strengths,
their flaws? One (1) paragraph (8-10 sentences) minimum, and
must include at least one (1) well-defined flaw.
[center]HISTORY[/center]
THEME: (optional)
- Do you have a theme song in mind for your character? Put it
here! Please avoid songs with explicit lyrics, but they are
acceptable as long as a warning is placed next to the link to
the song.
FAMILY:
- What family does your character have? Where are they located?
Are they living? That goes here!
STATUS:
- This is where your character's romantic/marital status - past
or present - goes! If this does not apply or if your character
is single, put N/A or leave a note that the character is single,
but open for a potential relationship (or not). If your
character has a partner, please link your character's partner
here.
HISTORY:
- The history of your character, up until the point of entering
play. Please do not write a novel, but please put detail and
effort into your character's history! List any trigger warnings
(abbreviated "TW") before the history section, make them bold,
and color the trigger warnings red.
- What should you cover? A basic idea of what to cover includes:
birth/early childhood, teenage years/early adulthood, adulthood
and onward. Major events - such as learning a Craft, being

interspersed with the relevant life stage, or may even take an
entire paragraph!

- Continue to use the "list" function to add additional bullet
points for additional updates. Place this in a separate post
directly after your character's bio, or at the end of the same

(As the title suggests, this is the section that details what
your character wants. What your character may want might be
entirely different for what you - the player - may want for
them!)
What type of Candidate is your character: Dragon, Wher, or Dual.
Simple!
What color(s) does your character want?: Be specific! If a
character strictly want bronzes and declares as much, but
privately would be agreeable to a blue - include that! Every
little detail counts.
Would this Candidate like to be eligible for gold?:
Yes/No/Gold-Preferred/Dragon Only/Wher Only
Does your character have any personality preferences?: If your
character has any specific personality they'd like for a
potential bonded, list that here! Note that we cannot guarantee
a specific personality type in any clutch.
Does your character have any other concerns?: If your character
has any other concerns that weren't mentioned above, put them
here!

(This is the section that details what you - the player - wants
for your Candidate. Just as it is above, your character's
interests may be entirely different from your own.)
If your character is a Dual-Candidate, do you have a preference
on whether they Impress dragon or wher?: Dual-Candidates Stand
for both dragons and whers, and have the chance to Impress one
or the other. Would you rather this character Impress a dragon
or a wher? Put N/A if this is not applicable.
What color(s) are you willing for your character to Impress?:
Again, be specific! This is what you want, not what your
character wants. Do you want your Candidate to Impress green,
while your Candidate wants gold? Make sure we know!
Would you like this Candidate eligible for gold?:
Yes/No/Gold-Preferred/Dragon Only/Wher Only
Do you have any personality preferences?: While your character
might wish for a bonded with one personality, you might wish for
the exact opposite for them, or anything in between. A fond term
for such a thing is a "chaos" match. If you wish for such a
thing, detail it and anything else relevant here!
Do you have any other concerns?: Any other concerns left unsaid
go here!
Do you have any preferences about the conditions of your
character’s Impression?: Examples include Impressing at the
first Hatching they Stand, Impressing at close to the end of
their Candidacy, sustaining injury before Impressing, etc. Note
that we cannot guarantee that anything written here will be seen
to fruition; we will do our best if anything placed here is a
must-have!
Are you alright with your character getting hurt? What injury
level is acceptable/what should be avoided?: We will never hurt
your character without your direct consent. Please detail what
should be avoided so we know what is alright and what is not.
Are you willing to Impress a dragon/wher with a
mutation/oddity?: Mutations/oddities can be anything under the
sun, and the mutation/oddity in question can have a broad
range... A weyrling bonded to such a dragon/wher might stand
out, for better or for worse.
If yes, anything to that needs to be avoided?: If you think of
anything specific that should be avoided in regards to a
mutation/oddity, put it here!
What is ABSOLUTELY NOT on the table for your Candidate?: If
there is anything you absolutely will not accept for your
characters (ex. no greens, no leader-type personalities, etc.),
we need to know. Please put anything of that nature here!
