BASICS
NAME: T'ani; originally Tahani
BIRTHDATE: Late Spring 2590
AGE: 22 as of Late Summer 2612
GENDER: Feminine
PRONOUNS: Feminine (she/her/hers)
ORIENTATION: Questioning, but an utter hopeless romantic
BIRTHPLACE: Valley Hold, Benden Province
LOCATION: Westwind Weyr
OCCUPATION: Apprentice Healer, Wingrider
WING: Gaia (Healer's)
APPEARANCE
HAIR: Dark Brown
EYES: Steely Blue
HEIGHT: 5' 1"
WEIGHT: ~130 lbs. (Round/Soft)
PLAY-BY: Tiffany Taubman
APPEARANCE:
Small and soft, nearly able to be called "pleasantly plump",
T'ani boasts a height of 5' 1" in total. Her hair falls in dark
brown waves to beyond her shoulders, brushing her mid-back. Her
eyes are a lovely steely blue shade, wide and large in her face,
just like her bright smile. As for her choice of clothing, T'ani
prefers wearing sweaters and long shirts in muted shades and
pants that hug her body close, along with her standard everyday
boots.

PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: TW: feelings of worthlessness (mention)
T'ani is a sweet girl, with both a shy and outspoken side to
her. She loves people and enjoys speaking with anyone about
anything, to the point she can become annoying. If given the
chance, she would take in every animal that needed her love, for
she has so much love to give. Yet at times, she is simply not
talkative or outgoing. While she is deeply attuned to others,
her shyness and insecurity can stay her tongue, even in critical
situations. Her love of life extends into her healing, for she
seeks to tend to every hurt she can and meet the needs of her
patients before they even know they need something. It's her job
as a Healer to heal the sick and injured, and her duty as a
dragonrider to protect Pern from the ravages of Thread, and thus
finds great joy in both aspects of her work in aiding all
people.
T'ani finds words and numbers difficult. Just difficult and
utterly frustrating. It's difficult to explain it from her
viewpoint, just all around troublesome. Not only does she have a
problem analyzing this input, but she is not a very savvy person
in general, which only worsens it. It can get so bad that T'ani
will burst into tears out of sheer bitter frustration, and can
be quite inconsolable. Stemming from this is a sense of
insecurity and worthlessness. Who would want to interact with a
person who stumbles over her words and can't figure out a simple
mathematical problem? This can cause T'ani to withdraw from
people for a short time, at least long enough to calm herself
and don a bright smile. She tries to avoid situations where she
must write long sentences or perform mathematical equations, but
she stumbles through them when she must.
T'ani is very naive, to be blunt. She always sees the best in
people, even if they have done horrible things in the past. This
can lead her to be easily manipulated, her kindness a weak point
to exploit. When she realizes what has happened, T'ani will
often retreat into herself, trying to determine what went wrong.
Another thing of note is T'ani's reluctance to break a rule.
Even if the harmony of Pern hangs in the balance, she finds
herself nearly unable to disobey an order. These rules were put
in place for a reason, and they have to be right, right? Yet her
biggest weakness of all is one of her strengths: her love of
life. Should anyone - anyone at all - be threatened, T'ani will
bend over backwards to do what is necessary to ensure their
safety.

HISTORY
THEME: N/A
FAMILY:
Tyffon - Journeyman Healer - father - alive
Bayani - Journeywoman Healer - mother - alive
Siblings - numerous - all living - open tie(s)!
STATUS: Single, open!
HISTORY:
Born to caring Healer parents in Valley Hold, Tahani wanted for
nothing. She had a good home, loving parents, several annoying -
yet loved - siblings, and an education she adored in store. She
grew up fair and gentle, patient from her years of tending her
younger family members to ease some of the load from her tired
parents. When she became eligible for Apprenticeship, she began
immediately. No better time like the present! She loved her
studies, for the concept of helping people and tending their
hurts pleased her greatly. Besides, she was following in her
beloved parents' footsteps. What wasn't to like? During her
Apprenticeship, she encountered a wounded kitten, immediately
scooping him up in spite of his protests. She tended his wounds
and insisted on keeping him, dubbing the cat Mortimer.
The Turns passed, and Tahani progressed well in her studies,
despite her difficulty with numbers. Yet something...more began
stirring in her heart. She wouldn't give up her Apprenticeship
for anything...but what would happen after she graduated? Would
she remain here, in the same old Hold she'd grown up in? Or
would she spread her figurative wings and fly, to see the world
outside the walls she known all her life? Well, her answer came
in the form of a Benden Searchrider. Out of all the eligible men
and women, they'd chosen Tahani! Shocked, but delighted to go on
this adventure, she accepted and packed her things, bidding her
family farewell and heading to Benden.
A Candidate at the sweet age of 16, Tahani was eager to please
and excited for what might come. But things weren't quite as
they seemed, regarding Benden. Something just seemed...odd. But
it didn't matter, for in third hatching in the Turn Tahani was
18, fortune smiled down on her that day. A brightly colored
shell cracked and sent shards everywhere from the hatchling's
excitement, and the green within tripped into the sand. Shaking
herself off, the dragonet bounced among the Candidates,
head-butting those who seemed like a decent match. But then the
green stopped at Tahani‘s feet after knocking the girl into the
sand, letting her name be known: Amphelisith.
Tahani shortened her name to T'ani, despite the displeasure of
both her peers and her superiors at such a break from Tradition.
That was only the beginning of her trouble. As bonded as she was
to a green, the Weyrlingmaster made it clear that there would be
no room for T'ani and Amphelisith to advance. All they would do
was serve as greens ought: from the bottom. Amphelisith was
incensed. How dare they try to decide her future for her and her
bonded! When Amphelisith grew old enough to chew firestone, she
refused. Not even T'ani could get the green to change her mind.
The Weyrlingmasters were most displeased at the rebellion this
green displayed...particularly when she declared she would
clutch. The queens could do it! Why couldn't she, even if her
clutches would be smaller?
T'ani was mortified at her green's conduct...but proud at the
same time. Even if they were regarded with distaste, they would
stand by their values...and T'ani assumed correctly. The
Weyrlingmasters were disgusted at the green's bold spirit, while
peers looked upon them with vague discomfort. Amphelisith was
undeterred, and T'ani drew strength from her green's confidence.
As a result of her temper, Amphelisith never took firestone, her
ability to clutch intact as she matured into an adult. T'ani and
Amphelisith graduated from weyrlinghood in disgrace, assigned to
the Healer's Wing, thanks to her Healer experience and
Amphelisith's refusal of firestone. Life was quiet, albeit a bit
lonely, being bonded to the green who openly defied her place as
dictated by Tradition.
Only for everything to turn upside down with the birth of gold
Haloneth in 2610. As the dragonet refused all attempts to turn
her to a specific Candidate - the Weyrwoman's daughter - all
looked on in horror as she marched down the line and made her
choice: a young man by the name of Haurchefant. The Weyr lost
its mind. This was such an egregious break from Tradition! It's
bad enough that blues and browns had Impressed to women and
non-binary individuals at other Weyrs, but this? Absolutely
unacceptable! The treatment the young goldpair received was
everything a queen and her bonded did not deserve. No-one
deserved to be treated like they were a freak or they were
nothing!
Though the very thought had her heart leaping into her throat,
T'ani knew that it was time. Time for what? Time to go. Time to
leave Benden...and take the new goldpair with them. Amphelisith
wholeheartedly agreed, and T'ani was not alone in her thoughts.
Others agreed and offered their own input. Benden wasn't a good
place to be if you sought equality or peace, but it would be
tricky to escape undetected, especially with the young queen.
But they would do it, whatever it took. At last, all was ready,
and the time had come to flee. T'ani, along with a bronzerider,
stole to Haurchefant's side and entreated him to leave with
them. It didn't take long for him to agree, and all of them -
riders, handlers, Candidates, weyrfolk; any who wished to leave
Benden - left under cover of darkness.
The journey over the ocean was a frightening one. Haloneth had
to ride onboard a ship manned by kind sailors, along with the
whers and everyone else who had no way to fly. That left the
dragonriders of this ragtag group to escort the ship. It was a
cooperative effort for all, and they landed on what could only
be the Western Continent with no incident. Once they arrived, it
was all hands on deck to arrange suitable accommodations for
everyone. After so much organized effort, a small settlement
suitable for their numbers had been brought up. It was far from
being a Weyr, but it was home, and that was what mattered.
It was a fine spring day in 2611 that Amphelisith rose in mating
flight. T'ani wasn't surprised nor concerned. This wasn't her
first mating flight, nor would it be the last. What did surprise
her is how adamantly Amphelisith insisted on sitting in the
Hatchings Grounds, only to leave T'ani reeling when the green
clutched. Amphelisith had clutched! Six fine eggs! The first
green clutch in...perhaps ever, along with fellow green
Carineath's clutch - which contained six eggs as well! The
settlement was alight with excitement and hope for the future.
As the time came for the eggs to hatch, neither T'ani nor
Amphelisith couldn't contain their glee. Of the group of
Candidates that had come from Benden, twelve walked away as
weyrlings to some very fine dragonets. Oh, how proud everyone
was!
At last, roots were put down and anchored. After some
discussion, it was decided that while they were small in
numbers, they were still a Weyr. Taking the name Westwind,
proper wings were organized and leaders decided. Haurchefant
himself, being bonded to gold Haloneth, was given the title of
"Weyrwoman," and all the responsibilities it entailed. But he
was not alone. Not only were his leading council present to aid
him, everyone in the Weyr gathered around the queen and her
rider. They were a Weyr now; more than just a tight-knit band of
righteous escapees. Best act like it. T'ani joined the Healer's
Wing, dubbed Gaia, and was pleased to find that it was optional
for greens to chew firestone. Amphelisith and Carineath had
proven that greens could clutch and provide worthwhile dragonets
for the Weyr. Why couldn't more follow in the future?
The future indeed looks bright for everyone, and T'ani is
delighted to partake in this new life.

Hey there! You seem right for me. Let's go!
BASICS
NAME: Amphelisith (Am-fel-eh-sith)
BIRTHPLACE: Benden Weyr
BIRTHDATE: Early Summer 2608
AGE: 4 as of Late Summer 2612
CLUTCHING
CLUTCHING: Yes
RUNS/FLIGHTS: 4
APPEARANCE
LENGTH: 24 ft.
HEIGHT: 6.5 ft.
WINGSPAN: 32 ft.
COLOR: Green
TEXT COLOR: #a4f66e
FULL APPEARANCE:
Pow! Kachow! Amphelisith is a small green, built for speed and
maneuverability. If life were a fast-paced sprinting race, she
would be the first across the finish line. That being said, this
green isn't built for endurance, though she can and will
certainly last the Fall with stubborn determination and sheer
spite. Amphelisith has a light green hide with that bright pop
to it, with speckles of darker green splashed across the
entirety of her hide; as though someone flicked a paintbrush
over her.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
Amphelisith is utter trouble. Bold and reckless, this green
looks for fun wherever she goes, no matter the form it takes.
Peril is just a part of everyday life, so she may as well make
the most of it! That said, Amphelisith is whip smart. While her
chaotic nature makes her seem silly - and she is a silly,
fun-loving kind of green - that doesn't mean she's stupid or
naive. She can smell a lie from a mile away, and doesn't take
kindly to manipulative types - be it human, dragon, or any other
creature. They spoil all the fun! When roused to anger - in the
defense of her rider or otherwise - no-one is spared from her
wrath. Amphelisith never forgets a past crime against her or her
loved ones, and will always have the last word in any fight. She
has a fighting spirit that will never be crushed, for she would
rather die than let another claim mastery over her. Amphelisith
has a hard head and a stubbornness that can rarely be matched,
with a temper that can flare up suddenly in response to any
threat.
To her rider, Amphelisith is a best friend...the kind that gets
you in trouble all the time. She'll always stick to T'ani like
glue and never leave her buddy hanging, but is she above getting
the both of them in trouble? No. Absolutely not, because what's
life without a little fun? Besides, T'ani needs to loosen up a
bit, and Amphelisith is here to help! Rules were meant to be
broken! Amphelisith absolutely adores human children, and has
always longed to have young of her own. To see them hatch and
bond to their humans, maturing into fine Thread-fighting
dragons, would be a dream come true. Additionally, she has a bit
of a flirtatious side, enjoying exchanging words with the
dragons of her Weyr in complicated bouts of wordplay. That isn't
to say Amphelisith isn't loyal. It would take Thread falling up
or flying spotties for her to turn her back on her friends and
loved ones, and even then it isn't a given!
VOICE: Amphelisith has a high, lilting feminine voice. She
sounds mournful at times, simply by the sound of her voice,
though she may not feel sad. When enraged, her voice is well
suited to both innocent-sounding threats and icy promises of
retribution.

BASICS
NAME: King of the Silver Sassy Cats, Mortimer I the Regal and
Majestic, First of His Name; usually called Mortimer or Morty
BIRTHPLACE: Valley Hold
BIRTHDATE: Fall 2604
AGE: 8 as of Late Summer 2612
APPEARANCE
SPECIES: Feline (Maine Coon)
FULL APPEARANCE:
Mortimer is simply enormous. So large and bulky is his Majesty
that the slight T'ani has difficulty carrying him for long, but
not with fat. Morty is anything but flabby. Instead, he is pure
fur and a dense combination of skeleton and muscle that makes
for a very hefty feline. Mortimer boasts a coat of pure silver,
with golden yellow eyes. One leg - his right hind - suffered
injury in his youth before he was snatched up and claimed by
T'ani, but he recovered, though he is left with a mild limp. No
fur will grow in the affected spot, and Mortimer is very
sensitive to touch in the region.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY:
A perpetually angry, utterly crabby feline. Mortimer is a grumpy
old sourpuss, absolutely unaffected by plies of affection or
food or toys. This silver king is a step above normal cats! He
is too dignified for such trivial things! Instead, he much
prefers to curl up at the hearth to bask in the fire's warmth.
Perhaps things were or would have been different if past
circumstances weren't the way they were, but it is of no matter.
Morty is a proud feline, and values his privacy and solitude
above all else, not taking very well to socializing with any
other creatures. Around T'ani, he will let his guard down a
little, accepting pettings and other forms of affection.
Secretly, he very much enjoys sitting in T'ani's lap while she
relaxes, though good luck getting him to show it to anyone else.
Certainly not Amphelisith. Nosy, good-for-nothing thing.
Mortimer does not get along with Amphelisith very well, but for
reasons still unknown.
