APPEARANCE: Zakaria dresses as best fits her fiery spirit.
Fabrics of red and black and grey are what consumes her
wardrobe. Her skin is a warm, sun-kissed tan tone that virtually
sings with youth, despite being over thirty Turns old. Her hair
is often tied back in a braid, which her dear bonded will
playfully pull at with his teeth. Poor Zakaria is in constant
need of patching up, with a bandage decorating some part of her
(especially her face) every other day. She's always on the move,
and therefore is often seen being treated for small scrapes and
bruises. She just has too much energy!
[center]PERSONALITY[/center]
PERSONALITY: Outgoing. Dauntless. Brave. Reckless. These and
more, are all accurate ways of describing Zakaria, the fiery
lass of Westwind Weyr. She's always rushing about, tending to
duties and looking for opportunities for adventure. In her deep
blue eyes, burns a flame of life that can never be quelled.
But for all her energy, this wily lass has but one known fear.
Heights.
Zakaria has a TERRIBLE fear of heights. After hearing tales
about Threadfall, the horrors of the sky were too much for the
young lass to bear. She felt it safest to remain on the ground,
or at least not very far from it, and has harbored an intense
fear ever since.
Aside from that, she is reckless. She has been known to go
looking for risks and adventures, with her endeavors often
resulting in injury in one form or another. She will laugh off
such things, stating that 'it's just a scratch'. (Much to the
dismay of the healers; She once tried to brush off a rather
nasty gash along her upper arm, and the medics were appalled by
such carelessness about the state of her life.)
Despite her fear of heights, however, she is not afraid of
participating in Threadfall itself. She just cannot bring
herself to do so from the air. Thankfully, she has the
ever-faithful Karask, her bonded wher, to keep her grounded.
Along with these traits is her kindness. Zakaria is nothing if
she is not kind. Need someone to talk to? Seek out Zakaria. Need
a laugh? You can bet anything that Zakaria will do something
recklessly funny just to make you smile. Please note, however,
that she is prone to sudden bursts of anger, and can
occasionally lash out when she feels the need to blow off some
steam. But if she accidentally does anything out of line, she is
the one to actively seek you out, even if you're on the other
side of the Weyr, and make amends. Overall, she is a wonderful
lass.
[center]HISTORY[/center]

STATUS: Single and looking for love, if you can keep up.
HISTORY: Born to simple weyrfolk parents, Zakaria is the eldest
of three children, with her brother Niklaus being the second and
Arianna being the youngest. Zakaria was actually a very shy
little lass as a child, but by her seventh Turn, something
within her changed. She became the wily little firebrand that
she is today. At seven Turns old, she and her younger brother
began to dream of Standing, with Niklaus' goal being to join the
Candidacy to become a Rider. Zakaria, however, was frightened by
the stories of dragons flying Thread, and swore that she would
never join them in the skies.
Thankfully, another opportunity to join in the fight would
present itself in the future. But that tale is to come.
When Zakaria was eleven Turns old, she got her first in-depth
look at the possibility of being a Wherhandler. With their
smaller wings and inability to do more than glide, it seemed
that she had found her calling. She could still fight Thread
with her brother. Zakaria vowed to Niklaus on that day, these
exact words: "You'll fly the skies, and I'll defend the ground.
Together, we'll defend our home from Thread!"
When Zakaria was seventeen Turns old, she took the first step in
achieving her dream. She applied as a Whercandidate, but was not
chosen in her first attempt. But that didn't stop her! She tried
again at the next several clutches, and was rewarded a few years
later with the clutchmother rolling a strikingly beautiful egg
to her feet. Out of that egg, hatched the most thrilling blue
wher that she'd ever seen. Karask, became his name, and the two
were bonded evermore.
Training was especially difficult on Zakaria. She was an
excellent learner, but her thirst for adrenaline and her hunger
for adventure... proved to be nearly fatal to her, much to the
dismay of all who'd come to know her. She was injured pretty
heavily during a training accident, which resulted in a long,
deep gash to her upper arm that she... surprisingly... attempted
to brush off. To the shock of the healers, Zakaria attempted to
brush off their efforts to take care of such an extensive
injury. But the one to be the most surprised (and subsequently
disappointed) in her actions, was Karask himself. He gave his
handler the most vicious verbal onslaught of his young life on
that day.
As time wore on, Zakaria's recklessness did not diminish, though
she made mighty attempts to keep herself in check. She got to
see Niklaus Impress to a blue dragon and take to the skies as
he'd vowed, defending their home. Together, the two were able to
keep the promise they'd made to one another as mere children.
When Zakaria heard of Haloneth's Impression to Haurchefant, a
man, she was at first, appalled by the turn of events. No man
should Impress a gold, a queen! Though she didn't join the ill
talks about the fates of the two, she was rather disgusted and
did not approve of their bond. But seeing the two together, her
opinion changed. That was why, when she learned that the two
were fleeing Benden, she decided to join. With Karask, Niklaus,
and his own bonded dragon, Zakaria joined the journey from
Benden to what would later be called Westwind Weyr. And it is
there that she remains, even as her dear Karask partook in the
run of Elask. With his win secured and the clutch now awaiting
Candidates to Stand, what will this wayward lass do?
UPDATES: Karask succeeded in the run to Elask, and has sired a
clutch of six eggs. One egg is given to Zakaria, and hatches a
brown. Zakaria and Karask welcome Riask into their little group!

APPEARANCE: Standing in the middle of the height range for his
color, Karask is a well-built and powerful wher. His hide is a
thrilling shade of rich, deep blue with lighter blue patches
dispersed all across his sturdy frame. He is very attractive in
regards to whers, and boasts an incredible strength when on the
run. His hide itself is incredibly well taken care of by his
handler.
[center][size=18pt]PERSONALITY[/SIZE][/center]
PERSONALITY: Karask is a lot like his handler. Wily, fiery, and
bursting with life. From the moment he hatched and they were
bound, Karask has been loyal and true to his beloved best friend
Zakaria. There is no hill that he wouldn't climb for her. No
matter the distance, you can bet your own life that he will run
it for her.
That being said, he is also hard on her when he needs to be. He
has ZERO tolerance for the reckless ways she goes about risking
her life, just for a 'thrill'. He has been known to growl and
snap at her when he feels that her behaviors get too out of
control, and has even been seen tackling her or knocking her to
the ground once in a while. Regardless, he would never sever
their bond, as he loves the spitfire lass too much to cast her
away.
VOICE: Karask's voice is... hard to describe. There's a rasp to
it, but it's not exactly rough. Laughter can occasionally be
heard in his tone, whereas at other times there's a commanding
growl to his words. The latter of which primarily sounds out
when giving Zakaria a piece of his mind.

APPEARANCE:
Riask is a large sized brown, well built and sturdy. His hide is
a rich chocolate brown with what appears to be stalks of plants
blowing in the win like a farmer's field before harvest. Around
his head and headnobs is a single plant stalk, whose leaf goes
down over his face. A bit of what appear like dust or seeds on
the wind pepper his legs, tail, wings and cheeks. All in all, he
is a very much a pretty earthy looking wher.

PERSONALITY:
Riask is a wher that is very much a hard worker. He gives
everything his full effort, seeks to complete his tasks in a
reasonable time frame and makes sure his handler stays on task.
Despite a strong sense of responsibilty, he is also very warm,
protective and very much acting the older brother sort. Despite
this, his way of very clearly and bluntly delivering his
thoughts on something may come across as abrasive but his heart
is usually in the right place. He loves being outside,
particualy where he can smell the fields that grow food for the
weyr and will often encourage his handler to go out and just..
take it all in.
VOICE: Riask has a warm but stern tone of voice, one that you
would assume came from a wher sire many times older.
Why Zakaria?: Zakaria needs a nice calm and responsibly
stabilizing force in her life.... that and this match was cute
and you can't stop me!
