Xander had been all too busy taking deep breaths, her arousal
slowly growing with every second that passed. What was his
pretty little mate thinking about exactly making her body beg
for him like that? A small smirk tugged at the corner of his
mouth but immediately disappeared when Luca knocked. He barely
managed to hold back a possessive growl, feeling like ripping
the guys head off for bothering him amd his perfect mate. He had
to take several seconds to actually understand what Luca said
and was about to answer when his mate interrupted him. She had
balls for a little lady, something that made him both wanna
chuckle and caused his chest to swell with pride at the same
time. But he knew he couldn't let her stay there on her own and,
as annoying as he was, Luca was right. Forcing his emotions
under control he managed to push a shift back to human form,
gently wrapping his arm around his mate's waist before nuzzling
her ear, whispering softly.
- What's your name, beautiful?
He was practically pretending not to have heard her earlier
comment but with the way she leaned into him, her cool skin
soothing him as if by spell, he didn't think she honestly wanted
to object too much to going with him. Not when he grabbed her
chin, pulling her face up so he could see her pretty eyes. He'd
never cared for vampires or found them particularly interesting
but the deep red of Her eyes mesmerized him. His chocolate eyes
immediately turned golden as he leaned down, letting his breath
mingle with hers.
- I don't think the police will care much but I bet vampires
will come looking for you. I can keep you safe. Let me keep you
safe, precious.
