Michael blinked, stunned for a few seconds by the aura of an
enraged wild cat in front of him and how she clearly was not
intimidated in the slightest. He guessed that she was almost a
head shorter than him by the fact that she had to tilt her head
back a fair bit to look him in the eye but did not seem to give
a cr*p about that. Then her words hit him.
-Wait.. Did you just say... Black Ocean..?
He made a pained face while pinching the bridge of his nose and
       groaned.
       -Just my fu*king luck..
Of course the wild cat had to belong to a rival guild. He looked
at her again, contemplating if he should say anything to her at
all. He rolled his eyes, annoyed.
-Look here, dipstick. I'm going to do you a favor by telling you
this. I can see why no one has wanted the gig, because it
fu*king sucks. There's nothing, and I mean nothing, here to
find. I took this job a month ago and the guy is about as dry as
they come. All he does is pray and read, and I don't know who
thinks it's a good idea having, now two, people watch an old
fart just walk around all day, but it sure as hell ain't worth
it. If it were not for the fact that the food and lodging is
free and that there were no other gigs at the moment, I would
have gone for anything else. I suggest you do that too .
The fact that he desperately needed the silver he would get for
completing the job was a factor when deciding that he could not
wait around for a better job if he didn't want to sleep on the
streets, but she did not need to know that and besides, who
wasn't strapped for silver these days? Peace-times were not good
for business if your expertise was un-aliving people for money.
Then all that was left was shit jobs like stalking a monk,
hoping he would do something that someone would find scandalous.

Syrena narrowed her eyes before a smirk appeared.
       - Oh please. I'm ninteen with an E cup. He won't be dry for long
which is exactly why my master sent me specifically, dumbass.
She gave him an arrogant smile but froze when the sound of a
door closing on the first floor echoed. Her hand flew up to her
mouth while she stared wideeyed at the idiot. Did the old geezer
       come back already?

Michael gave her a once over before scoffing.
-I would not even have guessed you were female, walking around
       dressed in that old sack.
Panic set in when he heard the front door, had they been arguing
for long enough that the praying was over already?
Michael tried to think of a way out of there.
They would maybe be able to sneak out through the window in the
study, the same one that he had used to enter the house. He
moved swiftly towards the door but paused when he heard the
creaking of the stairs. The old fart was ascending the stairs,
meaning they would not be able make it in time to the study and
out the window before being spotted. They were trapped, since
the only window in the bedroom was too small to climb out of.
He glanced around the bare room for possible hiding spots. They
were not many, why did monks have to give away all of their
possessions making it impossible to find decent hiding spots?
They could maybe hide under the bed, they would both fit but the
one who laid directly underneath the goat would most certainly
be squished, which made it a, not ideal, option. His eyes fell
on the closet behind the wild cat, it was hopefully big enough
to fit the both of them as well, and hopefully they could hide
there temporarily until the old goat left.
With out thinking, he grabbed the wild cat and dragged her with
him into the closet and closed the door as best he cold. They
were tightly pressed together and Michael had his back pressed
against the back panel of the closet making it a tight, but
       possible, fit.
He could feel her struggle against him and wrapped his arm
tighter around her waist to keep her still while one hand was
       placed over her mouth.
He bent down far enough until his breath fanned against her ear.
His voice was low but clear.
-Listen closely dipstick, if you wanna keep struggling, I will
not hesitate to punch the light from your eyes if it means
keeping you from fu*king us over. Do you understand?

Syrena rolled her eyes at his comment but was taken by surprise
as he suddenly pulled her into the closet and tried to lock her
in place. By pure reflex she struggled until the idiot again
called her dipstick. She stilled her body before swiftly biting
his finger to make him remove his dirty hand from her mouth. She
tilted her head backwards and to the side to give him a
deathglare and whispering angrily to him.
       - My name is Syrena, you sh*thead. Now suck in that fat stomack
of yours or we'll burst through the doors in no time.
She shoved back and got a satisfied evil grin when she heard him
gasp for air. Served him right for being such a jerk. She had
plenty of comebacks to his dumb comment too. Like, he'd already
been there for a month and still didn't know the difference of
the robes? Talk about an idiot. Not to mention he could try and
act as if she wasn't pretty all he wanted, she didn't care what
       some idiot thought.
Still annoyed about that she froze when the door to the bedroom
opened and the old geezer entered with a tired sigh. She
listened carefully as the man walked around and took down
something from the wall and placed it on the small table next to
the bed. A female voice carried from the doorway.
       - Your exellency?
       - Don't fear my child. This is all a mere precaution.
More sounds of objects being moved came through the doors while
Syrena frowned. What the hell was going on out there? There
weren't even that many things to move in that bare room and what
was a young woman doing alone with the old man? Weren't the
women supposed to go to the abbess?

Michael winced from the pain but removed his hand from her mouth
and eased upon his grip around her waist. At least he no longer
had to be afraid that she would blow their cover by accident,
only deliberately, and she seemd to be capabel of hopefully
taking care of herself. Good. The last thing that he needed was
some newbie running around causing trouble. He had not
anticipated her elbow though, and he had to bite his tongue as
to not make any other sound than a sharp inhale. Damn the Gods,
she could knock out a few teeth if she aimed that thing wrong,
or right, he supposed. Wasn't she raised to not elbow people in
the ribs? Wasn't she raised with any manners? He forced a smirk
       at her.
-Nice to meet you wild cat, stupid of you to give out your name
       to strangers, but anyw-
He shut his mouth the second he heard the bedroom door creak
open and listened intently. How many trinkets did the old goat
have squirrelled away in this room? And where? Behind the
paintings and tapastries? Could that be it? Had he been lazy
enough to not check behind the stupid paintings? Sounded like
whatever it was it might atlest be worth a pretty penny. And the
girl.. She should not be here...
He had only stuck around once or twice when the goat was home
and all he had done was nap, so Michael had quickly given up on
that, but maybe the old goat was not as squeaky clean as he
first seemed. Maybe, just maybe, there actually was something to
this boring gig and the rumors afterall..

After a bit more rummaging sounds the footsteps of two people
faded as they seemed to walk down the sqeaky stairs again.
Syrena turned her head to press her ear to the door just in case
but soon the sound of the front door opening and closing had her
let out a slow breath. Feeling more than ready to get away from
the jerk behind her she gently pushed the door open before
stepping out, carefully scanning the room both in case anyone
was still there and to see if anything had been moved but it
looked just the same as before. Scowling she turned to the idiot
       ang gave him another deathglare.
       - I almost got caught because of you, dipsh*t!
She was gritting her teeth, the itchy robe getting on her last
nerve too. This was supposed to be a simple in and out job and
that annoying jerk was complicating it. She ripped the annoying
headpiece of of her head, freeing the long black hair and
       scratching her head violently.
       - Man! Those things are itchy.
As she scratched her head something caught her eye and she
froze, her eyes narrowing in on a tapestry on the wall behind
the jerk. Something seemed off about it. Frowning, she stepped
forward, pushing the idiot aside and carefully lifted the
tapestry to the side, revealing a dent in the wall where a small
box lay. Curious, she picked it up and twisted it in her hands.
       - My, my, what treasure could this be hiding?
Her voice was silkysmooth as she picked at the little clip
holding the box together and opened it. Inside was only one
thing and it made her look up in confusion, glancing at the jerk
with a questioning face. All the little box held was a bloody
       silver necklace.

Michael shot Syrena a dirty look.
-I almost got YOU caught? Oh please, you are the one who almost
got me caught, dipstick. I would have been in and out of this
place in a heartbeat if it were not for you!
He crossed his arms over his chest and scoffed. What a mess, but
he had to admit, if it weren't for her strolling in, he never
would have thought to look behind the tapastries in the old
goat's room. He glanced at her and couldn't help but smirk at
       her obvious discomfort.
-Tell me about it. It won't get any better though, you'll just
have to bottle it up and then punch something when no one is
looki- Hey, hands off wild cat! I know you can't resist me but
       please, hands to yourself.
Why was he so agitated by her? Was it because she had barged in
on his gig, jeopardising the whole thing? Or was it..?
He cut of his train of thought right there. Nothing but trouble
could come out of it so it was better to not entertain the
thought in the first place. He forced himself to check behind
the rest of the paintings to make his mind focus on something,
hell anything, else than the raven haired wildcat across the
room. He didn't have any luck though, the only thing behind the
other paintings was wall. He turned and walked up to Syrena to
see if her luck had been better.
-Is this the big dirt? A fu*king necklace with some blood
       smeared on it?!
Michael rolled his eyes but forced himself to take another look
at the thing, something about it looked familiar.
-Wait, I think I have seen this one before. Isn't that the crest
of one of the lords? The, what's-his-name... A fat guy with an
ugly wife and equally ugly spawns..
He looked at Syrena and cocked an eyebrow at her, hoping that
maybe she would know the name of the guy, but her clueless face
said everything he needed to know. He threw his hands up in an
       annoyed manner.
-Well wild cat aren't you useless? Did they teach you nothing
about politics? Or were you simply too preoccupied with yourself
       to pay attention?

Syrena scowled and punched his arm with a mean right hook before
       glaring daggers at him.
       - Shut it, imbecile! You've been here a month and can't come up
with sh*t! I'm here five minutes and I find a bloody necklace
with a noble crest hidden in the old geezer's room. To me it's
       obvious who's the useless one.
Rolling her eyes she picked up the necklace and closed the box,
putting it back in the dent before dragging the tapestry back to
it's place. She held up the necklace, watching it glint in the
       sunlight from the window.
       - Also call me wild cat one more time and I will end you,
       sh*thead.
She turned to glare a warning at him activating a bit of her
magic power to create an ominous aura.
       - I'm the Siren of Black Ocean. Cross me and I'll crush you.

-What in all hell was that good for?!
Michael glared at her while he rubbed his arm where she had
punched him. She truly had no damn manners at all. Her comment
stung worse though, Michael knew he wasn't exactly cut out for
espionage missions. He simply did not have the patience for
trying to blend in with the rabble in hopes of finding out
something useful to use as blackmail. But those were the only
missions going around so what was one supposed to do?
He scoffed and crossed his arms at her little reveal.
-Well ~wild cat~ I do not care since ~I~ am not your little
       b*tch to push around.
He should not have said that, and he regretted it the second it
left his mouth, but his stupid honor would of course not let him
keep his mouth shut just this once. Out of all of the guilds and
out of all of the members, he had to cross paths with the Siren.
He had heard of her, who hadn't at this point? She had made a
massive ruckus a few years back by being absolutely ruthless,
both towards her victims and other guilds, earning her a less
loudly spoken nickname, the Witch of the Black Ocean.
He held out his hand, he had provoced her already, might as well
       keep going then.
-My gig, my dirt. Hand it over, dipstick.

Syrena narrowed her eyes at him, letting her gaze travel slowly
over him as if sizing him up before a smirk appeared on her
       face.
       - You sure are the densest idiot I've ever met.
She pocketed the necklace in some hidden crease of the robe and
       gave him a playful smile.
       - I'm bringing this back to Black Ocean and there is nothing you
can do to change that you useless piece of sh*t. If you want it
you can ask my master to hand it over when he's done with it.
Her smile got wider as she flipped up her hand and sent him
crashing into the wall with a waterball that left a heavy
pressure on his chest. She flipped her hair over her shoulder
and hurried out of the room while shoving the stupid hatthing
back on her head, trying to hide all the black strands under it
at the same time. She'd let him off way too easily with just
that small gesture but starting a magic duel in the old fart's
house was not a wise choice. Especially since she wasn't
supposed to be there. She had no idea who the crest belonged to
but she didn't really see a point in learning those things since
she just took missions and completed them to get money, not
exactly caring who the mission was for or who got hurt in the
process. That is as long as it didn't hurt Chris or her fellow
       guildmembers.
