like a lake. He sighed, then dipped his nose into the water.
"Please talk to me, my dear ancestors..." he whispered

tortoiseshell named Dapple That Covers Fur, or Dapple, a
well-known and well-liked Healer. She had been before Olive.
"Claw That Strikes Rock." She greeted solemnly. [/font]

after he had run away from his twoleg home. "Dapple! It's so
good to see you again! Is Olive here? Is she safe?" Olive had
died from age, and she had fell into the river and had drowned
as she couldn't swim because of how stiff she was.[/font]

"Dapple, you naughty girl. Scaring poor Claw." Came a teasing
mew. A shockingly massive gray tom padded into view, amusement
glittering in his blue eyes. It was Ash that comes after fire,
or Ash.
Ash was probably the best known cave guards in all of Tribe
history. He had died protecting the entire Tribe from an enemy
pack of cats.
Next came a tiny kitten, named Lichen Hanging From Den, a kit
who had died quickly after death. "Hello, Claw." The kit mewed
warmly, dipping his had.
A pretty calico appeared next, smiling. It was none other than
Gentle Swoop of Dove's Wings, or Gentle. "My grandson." She
greeted Claw with a rumbling purr.
