apart from all the other items of various dates that I placed in
the collection point on the table, these were the items I
thought were most interesting of my finds that day
unfortunately the coin is too badly worn to see any suitable
dating marks on it, and im not sure what the other 2 items are
??
coins measures 14mm

Hi Keith, the last item shown is a shoe/clog clasp - 18-19th
century. These were used as an alternative to buckles , and the
part you have would be attached to a leather strap, and the
other end would clip into a hasp - a similar shaped piece of
metal with 2 or 3 slots in it, to give a degree of adjustment.
The other item looks like some kind of decorative mount for a
leather strap or belt, difficult to date but looks medeival to
me. Are you planning to go out this sunday , if there is a
field available? Near Canterbury sounds interesting........

thanks for the info on the items jim, I love the Pimlico field
its got so much interesting items coming out that it shows how
much activity over the centuries has taken part there.
you cant pin the fields use down to just one era
it sounds like a fantastic opportunity to get near Canterbury on
sunday, but I shall have to think on it as its also fathers day
and my eldest ones are coming down to see us ;)
