had a great day in the permissions fields with eric and ian
today.... I came across a few nice little pieces... including a
nice silver denarious 127BC, silver hammered (unfortunate bad
condition so unable to date it), a nice little medieval bronze
key, an unusual lead artefact that im going to place in the help
identify section.... the usual musket balls, buckles, partial
clasps etc :)

Nice haul there mate ! Looks like you've got a nice lead seal
matrix there too (just below the hammered silver in the pic).
Also, the square piece on the right of the matrix looks
interesting , if it has a design on it when you clean it up,
maybe a little heraldic pendant ?. Might not be , could just be
the old 'eye of faith' ! The hammered is a tricky one, don't
recognise that pattern at all , was there anything showing on
the other side ? Possibly a foreigner, they do come up quite a
lot.

unfortunately there is nothing to see on the back jim, I think
its probably a French one due to the fleur-de-lis

the square object I looked up on the net and found out it was a
partial book clasp, I had a lovely find today though... I am
going to photo it and post it up shortly ;D

Just another thought , possibly a jetton ? I had a quick look at
the link which you set up to the english jetton site , and some
of those had short crosses and fleur de lis.
