       What does Star Trek mean to you?

       In this thread, I'd like for us to put down in words what Star
       Trek means to you.
       For me, it's a beacon of hope that we desperately need. From the
       inception of the original series, through to now, Star Trek has
       offered the principles of unity, kindness, compassion, and
       equality. It's taught me to never give up, to never yield in the
       face of adversity. It's shown me that if we are united, there is
       nothing the human race cannot achieve.
