night time transfer call in procedure

       Ray's proposal for comment:
Create a schedule entry called Standby signified by an S. This
would be different than Call. Anyone interested in transfers
would place an S on the schedule for the time that they are
available. They would be called in seniority order after the
Call person refused. Should part time employees be given a
preference by their seniority? Would like to hear from everyone
about seniority alone or try to get part timers more hours.

With all of these policy changes happening, i am still seeing a
problem with the procedure for calling in a crew for night time
transfers. I am not being called in for night time transfers,
even when i am on call. This has happened to me personally
twice now. I have lost $85 each time. If i am the only one on
call, isnt the crew on schedule supposed to find me a partner,
not call in an entirely different crew? I am the one sitting at
home being paid and waiting on the call. There is a procedure
in writing on the proper way to handle night time call ins and
it is in the folder that holds the schedule. This either needs
enforced or updated so that i dont get up and get dressed for
another crew to take it. I have notified the director numerous
times of this issue, citing specific examples and that the
seniority list is not being utilized during these times with no
response. Please take a look at this and remedy the situation
as you feel is appropriate. It seems redundant for the company
to pay me to be available, then pay another crew overtime also.

I think this would be fair and would help the crew on shift
spend less time on the phone, just call the first 2 on the list.
As far as calling part timers first, t hat was the previous
policy, as it saves the company from paying so much overtime. I
feel it should be the policy that you call in the people that
dont have 40 hrs first, but once it is going to have to pay
overtime, it should be by seniority.
