Characters Backstory: Ivory [WIP]

Life before Rusty Springs:
Ivory was born in Vault 3, with a loving mother and father. She
had many friends, her real name was Danny Parker, but she
thought it was a boy-ish name, and she and her friends nicknamed
her Ivory. Her best friend was Ashley Palata, they used to play
"Hunt the Mutant" with the rest of the kids in the vault all the
time. In her school there was a group of bullies, they had
bullied Ashley, Ivory and pretty much every other kid in the
vault. Her father was the doctor of the vault, and she took a
liking to medicine, and began to learn about stimpacks, and
things. Her mother, stayed with Ivory, to look after her.
Living in the vault had been easy, just learning, playing etc.
But that all changed when the water chip failed in the vault.
They had to open the vault, and begin trade with the others.
Ivory thought this was a bad idea, and indeed she was right, as
trading with the outside had not only attracted traders, but
fiends and slavers. Since there was no security in Vault 3, the
fiends and slavers took over easily. It was during her Birthday
party when they came in, and they slaughtered everyone she knew,
she was one of the lucky ones, sort of, and sold into slavery.
During slavery she had rough times, traveling all over the
place, from the Mojave desert to Texas, from Texas to Washington
D.C, then back again. There were no customers for her. She was
abused by the slavers, verbally, physically and sexually. The
slavers began to use her as a slave for themselves, cleaning,
treating the sick, doing work etc. And eventualy, she was
bought, and used for the same thing. She was sold back into the
slavery after she was brought back to the Mojave. During this
time she had developed pickpocketing skills, lockpick skills,
etc. And she managed to escape slavery. Though she naively
stayed with a man pretending to adopt her, who sold her into
slavery again. She had completely lost all hope of becoming
free, after two years of trying to escape and being abused, she
was bought, just in the nick of time as the slavers were going
to execute her. She was set free, and she made her way to Rusty
Springs.
Life during Rusty Springs:
Ivory stayed in Rusty Springs for a long time, in the safety of
the NCR, although on the border of the Legion which made it
rather hard to scavenge. She lived in poverty that year,
sleeping on the cold, hard dirt and eating scraps that some
people throw away or she begs people for them. Using the
pickpocketing skills she had developed, she began to steal from
unknowing people, and ran away with the money. She wasn't doing
well, and she had tried to earn enough money to eat and drink,
but she just couldn't. By then she had abandoned her old name.
Eventually an NCR soldier had noticed her, and took her in. With
some caps she had saved she bought a guitar, to earn caps. Major
Eva McKnight allowed Ivory to sleep in her office, and gave her
food, etc. But she stopped after the Major was demoted to
Lieutenant. She had just began to make a living for herself,
until the Legion had advanced on rusty springs, forcing her to
flee north.
Life in Fairview:
Ivory didn’t know about Fairview at first, and stayed in the
ruins and such, until a girl called Pinky found her, and
bargained a job with the local Crimson Caravan trader as a
bartender for forty caps a week. She was doing great, free
meals, free housing etc. Untill Max disappeared. That day, Ivory
had no-one to protect her, and she was kidnaped. The man stole
all of her caps, leaving her poor. Though luckily he had not
noticed her Pip-Boy 3000b. He left her in a horrid state, and
Luis, the towns governor found her, tied up and beaten. She was
taken to the clinic and looked after, and then Max, out of
sympathy, decided to adopt her. Though she had problems with her
new step-mother, Lyra, who had suddenly turned weird, she was
beginning to see a new future for herself. Though that all
changed until the day that Max caught rabies, and died. Saying
farewells in the small house they were in, he just left. Leaving
the items that max wanted her to leave for the new man who was
coming, she got his gasmask and pistol, and left. She then
applied for the NCR, wanting to leave all of her old life
behind.
After joining she had rough times with her mother, and the town,
as they thought she betrayed them. She stuck with the job for
caps, and healing people up. After getting into a gunfight with
the Legion, she came back to the town, after explaining to Luis.
Though nuclear winter had come over them, and she was stuck in
the town. After taking up multiple jobs to keep the town
running, she gets sick. Radiation poisoning had gotten to her,
and she had nothing to treat it, along with the intense cold it
wasn't looking good for Ivory. Some people had began to scavenge
for medical supplies, and eventually found enough to treat her.
She began work as a guard, shooting the occasional raider or
mutated animal. Until there was an organised raid, specifically
targeting Luis but looting the town too. She tried her best to
defend the town, she was shot. The town was burning and being
ransacked, killing civilians and such. Luis was no-where to be
seen, and she was forced to flee the town with only the guitar
she had bought, as she dropped her rifle when shot. She then ran
to find new hope somewhere else.
