Old World Preservers
"Why man...he doth bestride the narrow world like a colossus,
and we pety men walk under his huge legs to our miserable
graves...". The words of a man can make difference amongst many
others. A dozen rise and a tousand fall, but in the end, that is
our nature and it cannot be denied. What we lost, we can
rebuild. What was long forgotten, can now be restored and
preserved. These are the words the men and women of the Old
World Preservers stand for. The OWP is a newly discovered
organization that seeks to re-discover and preserve the
knowledge of the old world so that humanity will ascend to it's
rightful place in the now barren wastelands of post-apocalyptic
United States. The OWP's primarly ideaology is HUMANISM, that
the common human is above everything else such as super mutants,
animals and anything else. Along with this, their brave members
raise up to the surface of our lost planet and find themselfs in
a continuous struggle to find the pre-war relics that survived
the Great War and need to be preserved. Intact history books,
culture artefacts, technology, pre-war weapons, pre-war
clothing, they gather the ancient knowledge of their ancestors
and restore it within their ranks so that the future generations
will not forget what we lost and remember that we can rebuild
the civilization. The Preservers operate in the state of Oregon,
in the epicenter of the "Knowledge Vault."
As of now, what was once Vault 20 is now the operational base of
The Preservers. In 2157, Vault 20's door was opened by the Chief
Overseer Alexander Morrison after a brief time of isolation from
the wasteland. The original experiment of Vault 20 was to put
inside as many cultural diversity as Vault-Tec could. Various
ethnic groups were introduced in the massive colossal
underground shelter as part of the goverment experiment to see
how would an multiple cultural community manifest after a
nuclear war. Different religions and culturistic diversity would
have driven the vault in a complete madness if not for Darius
Harrison, the father of Alexander Morrison. He sought to
establish a political rule for the vault as it was separated in
six distrincts, each with it's own different community. The
Vault Parliament sought to stop the nationalist fights between
the distrinct as Darius planned to open the door as soon as the
conflicts were done. In an unexpected success, the conflict of
the distrincts was put to an end after 80 years. In 2057, after
three months after the death of Darius, Alexander proceeded to
take the role of his father and did open the vault's door. With
joy, he stood over the vault dwellers and raised his arm
upfront, pointing towards the wasteland. He spoke with a voice
so sweet Now it's the time my fellow humans and friends. What
you see now is what our ancestors destroyed and took from us.
Let's not make the same mistakes like them and break the chains
of the Great War! Bring me...the Garden of Eden Creation Kit!.
The GECK. 80 years of conflicts beneath the earth for it. It is
an universal symbol of the old world. It was the hope that
humanity needed in this dire time. The Vault Dwellers used the
GECK to colonize the area around the Vault 20 and started a new
life, in their original homeworld. Soon, a community on the
surface established and they began to develope a greater cult.
After Alexander deceased, his followers elected a new man for
his spot, since he had no children to take the role. Robert
Keindall Harrington, the leader of the Afro-American Partide
(A.A.P) was now the leader of his The Preservers. The term of
"Old World Preservers" were at first given by the mercenaries to
describe the men of Oregon that were paying them to deliver them
pre-war relics. After NCR conducted an exploration of the Oregon
state, they've discovered the Preservers. By that time, they
were a major factions operating only in Oregon. They've set
trade routes between NCR and OWP, OWP would pay with Vault-Tec
knowledge and technology, also with a small part of their
agriculture stocks in exchange of pre-war knowledge and relics
from California. Thing went like this for a while, until OWP
started conducting scouting parties, under the command of Robert
Keindall Harrington, north of Oregon, in the state of
Washington....and that's where our story begins, as the first
OWP members set foot on the Washington State. The OWP is not
friendly to the outsiders but a rather neutral faction unless
they join them due to the lack of distrust to the outside human
population. The OWP consider themselfs as the only capable
humans to actually understand the world and rebuild it and
that's why these traits have given them a bad name to the NCR.
The relations of OWP regarding the other factions in the
wasteland remain neutral with a few excepts. From accounts of
wastelanders, the BoS is present and do not share their
knowledge with the outside world, much like the OWP, but this
case causes The Preservers to dislike and distrust the BoS as
they see them inferior by the aspect of the mind. Not much to
say about the CL rather than they The Preservers are on a
dislike-hate branch on them due to the atrocities they commit to
the human race. The OWP heavly dislikes the super mutants and
given a chance, they would kill everyone of them. As for their
methods, The Preservers are quiet secretive about them. As far
as the average wastelander is aware, the OWP is an small
organization that seeks to expand themselfs furthermore and
gather as much pre-war junk as possibile. They are known to hire
common wastelanders to wander off in the wasteland and risk
their lifes to gather the "Old Gold" refered to as the pre-war
interesting junk.

We could have remained in the depths of the Earth, in our
comfortable life and routine, in our dear Vault 20. We could,
but we did not. We rose up, stood above the ground of our
ancestors and tought to ourselfs "What if we can repair what
they destroyed? What if we are meant to rebuild civilization?".
Oh yes, we did. As different as we all were, by race, by
nationality, we all allied ourselfs under one banner and built a
community mere wastelanders would have dreamt of. We used what
was our greatest threat. The Garden of Eden Creation Kit. We
fought for it for over seventy years and yet only after the
opening of the vault we truly understood what it meant for us
and for the sake of the future. Welcome my friends. I am Robert
Reindall Harrington from Distrinct One of the "Knowledge Vault"
and I am here to bring the old-world glory.
