Flutterpaw glanced up at Refereejersey, taking a few steps away
from the Highrock and Taintedstar as if a fox-length difference
would protect her. She nodded to the medicine cat quickly,
avoiding the gaze of her leader, for she saw images in the amber
orbs of the calico that were far too scary for her. It worried
Flutter, though, too; if the leader truly was insane, what would
she make ThunderClan do? She'd drive them to extinction, the
cream femme knew that, if someone didn't get it into her head
the violence wasn't always the answer.

Taintedstar shot Appleorchard a toxic glare. "It's not our cats
dying, therefore it doesn't matter." she mewed, trying to keep
her voice level.

"Well, they still don't deserve it." She mewed as she slightly
narrowed her eyes. She could tell this would turn into an
argument. "Raiding is good enough, not destroy their entire
medical supply!"

nodding again towards Appleorchard, and her muscles tensed as
she watched Taintedstar. Though she normally never reacted to
the leader with anything other than fear, but now her blue eyes
narrowed, and she spoke, for once. "I-I think we should
l-l-listen to Appleorchard, M-Miss Taintedstar. D-d-destroying
medical supplies... I-I-I-I-it's wrong! We should k-keep some of
their s-supplies safe, it's not r-r-right to kill e-everything!"

Lingeringeclipse just sat and stared anxiously at the bristling
leader. Although he didn't want to make her any angrier than
she already was, he agreed with Flutterpaw. It was wrong to
destroy RiverClan's herbs. Especially since it is the beginning
of leaf-fall, and all of the herbs and plants were wilting.
"Taintedstar? We still can attack RiverClan without destroying
their supplies. That would be more humane." He meowed
suggestively. "And more sensible." He whispered to himself.

Taintedstar had enough. "FINE, WHATEVER!"[/B] she yowled, her
screech echoing through the camp. [b]"We won't destroy the herbs
supplies. We'll just attack." she gritted her teeth, squinting
her eyes in frustration as she spoke. She wished she were still
young. She remembered the good days, before she had ever been
deputy or leader...
[I]
It had been a sunny morning, and her mother and father were out
on a patrol. Tainted[I]paw[/I] at that time, had been playing
mossball with Victorypaw, her best friend, when they were
supposed to be fixing the elders' bedding. "Hey! You kids get to
work!" came the half laugh half yell of Aurorastar, the
beautiful leader. Victorypaw dripped the moss, her black face
innocent. "Sorry, ma." she told her mother, smiling sheepishly.
The leader paused, then looked to the woods. "You two should go
join Bronzeblade's patrol. He, Glorywings, and Cottoncandy are
hunting by the Thunderpath." she suggested.
Taintedpaw brightened. "Really?" she exclaimed excitedly. A
patrol with her parents and the deputy sounded great to her.
Aurorastar nodded. Victorypaw nodded enthusiastically, and they
dashed out if camp.[/I]
Taintedstar began to frown and quiver as she remembered the next
part.
[I]They found Bronzeblade and Cottoncandy in no time, but they
didn't look happy. Taintedpaw approached her mother with a
frown. "Where's Dad?" she asked. Cottoncandy's eyes were rounder
than the full moon at a Gathering. "He's...dead." her mother
choked. Bronzeblade looked down solemnly. Victorypaw's jaws
gaped. Taintedpaw? She just stood there.
They all went back to camp, but it was a blur. The shock had
consumed Taintedpaw. Her mother was consumed by heart wrenching
sobs, but she was emotionless. Just...shocked and confused. But
it got worse. As soon as they got back to camp, it was flooded
with RiverClanners. Attacking elders and kits, raiding the
medicine den...It was scarring, mentally. And in the blink of an
eye, the fight was on. Taintedpaw and Victorypaw fought a stocky
RiverClan female, and it seemed to go on forever. Just blood
flying everywhere...
Then the yowl of the RiverClan leader: "Retreat!" As soon as the
warriors cleared, Taintedpaw finally began to cry. Her mother
was dead, some of her friends were dead. It was...trauma.[/I]
Taintedstar felt a tear run down her cheek as she stood there,
but she blinked it away.
[I]It was moons later, and she was a warrior now, Taintedriver.
She had chosen her own warrior name, to remember the day
RiverClan killed her mother, and her father died on the
Thunderpath. It was the day Aurorastar died of Blackcough. She
went quietly, and Bronzeblade took over as leader. He was like a
father to Taintedriver now, so he chose her as deputy,
naturally...[/I]
Taintedstar blinked the memories away, unwilling to go through
any more sepia-toned nightmares. She wished her clan understood
the emotional trouble she had with RiverClan. She would never
tell them how she felt, though. Exposing her feelings would make
her weak.

[center]Refereejersey flinched, though he was glad the others
had agreed with him. He looked at Taintedstar, and noticed the
crystalline tear on her cheek, but decided against saying
anything. He knew she hated him, and he couldn't risk her having
another temper tantrum.
"Taintedstar, I apologize for getting angry. Thank you, though,
ma'am." He meowed, dipping his head in an awkward sort of
fashion. Hopefully she would get the message okay.

"So...When do we start? What is the battle plan?"
Lingeringeclipse padded forward toward Taintedstar. "Or should
we discuss this later?" He whispered in her ear, his voice
hardly audible. Lingeringeclipse glanced at her worriedly, then
quickly stared back down at his paws. It was weird to stare at
someone everyone else thinks is psycotic and messed-up. Also, if
it was someone you liked, that just made things worse. He was
standing in a very undignified position, slouching and his legs
were far apart. I must look like an idiot..He thought.
